    This is a whole another level of professionalism. You can tell that David got to dominate all the basic areas, and now can have a lot of fun with 4 cameras on stage 🤯

    Thanks David for sharing your story and the joy it brings you. I would really enjoy seeing more like this. Everyone is so hung up on tips and tricks theyt dont actually share stories. Thjis is much more engaging to watch and has real value.

    Also keeping in mind that the lighting for these shows is SPECTACULAR and waaaaaay different than local venues for anyone thinking of starting out in this. Even with great cameras I wouldn’t recommend f4 or 5.6 for local live music.

      True, but I've shot hundreds of club shows over the years too. You can often talk your way into putting up a few off-camera flashes with gels on them to make some really unique images. But if not possible, then stick with the 50 1.2. :)

      @@DavidBergmanPhoto So true and much respect to you for this video and for the comment. Modern FF cameras can push some great ISO so you can get away with 1.8 and 2.8. The best gear is the one you’ve got. Thanks for the great content!

      I shoot primarily local club level shows and have never ever needed anything past my f4 paired with a 5D Mk4 (currently). And yes the Iso gets really high and some pictures are crap, but it only takes 20 good ones to share a concert experience...

    Good coverage on key way to have the best coverage when shooting a busy stage and be flexible range of lenses to capture the moment. The R 3 would be a great addiction for eye capture focus moments to pinpoint subject movements. Well done David

    Fascinating... first time I've heard this info. Heavy canon user, done sports, but never shot a band.
    Played the video twice... cool.

    I shot for a band this past fall, at 18 different venues. I used a 24-105 F4 and a 70-200 F2.8. Some venues I could not get close to the stage (no photo pit at any venue), and even using the super 35 mode on my Sony A7III, it was not enough reach, never mind the drop in pixels because of the crop. So I really want to get the Sony 100-400 lens to be ready for their next US tour this spring. I would love a second body, but I am not doing this professionally; only for the fun and experience.

    David, love the video, I've often wondered about a remote camera. Could you talk more about it? How to set zoom, focus, exposure, and how to keep the camera Awake? Love your stuff, thx, Ron. EOS6D II

    Great video as always Dave. When shooting the 5D Mark IV remotely do you use the Canon App or a remote trigger like the RC-6, just curious🤔👍 and do you set the focus to manual or automatic, my guess is manual, although I've been wrong before 😂😂

    • @DavidBergmanPhoto
      @DavidBergmanPhoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use the PocketWizard to trigger. Wifi is u reliable on stage with all the RF interference. I have a few coming out next week with more details about remotes. Stay tuned!

    It's been my experience that homeowner's insurance will not cover your gear if you are doing any type of for profit business with your gear. Always call your insurance agent to find out what your homeowner's insurance will cover and what it will not cover.

    Are the two camera's on you hooked up to one camera strap/harness, or separate straps? Plus how do you stop them swinging about and hitting safety rails and other objects? I some times get a little choked with a camera strap and my bag strap. Especial weaving through a crowd of constantly moving bodies in smaller venues which don't have photo pits, only mosh pits.

    • @DavidBergmanPhoto
      @DavidBergmanPhoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use the HoldFastGear Money Maker. It’s built to hold two. And yes - I simply hold onto them so then don’t swing too much when walking around barricades and people!

      @@DavidBergmanPhoto David, how many different harness have you tried and what made you choose this rig? I am also a concert shooter and am constantly trying different harnesses, have not found the one yet that I am in love with. Very interested in your thoughts on that. Will chk out shoot from the pit as well, always good to learn new things!

    I had no idea those "from the stage" photos were done with a remote - I always assumed you had access to get up on stage at key times (like the curtain call). I assume that for the remotes you use a fairly narrow aperture and manual pre-focus? Or do you use autofocus?

    • @DavidBergmanPhoto
      @DavidBergmanPhoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do shoot on stage as well but can’t be up there all night long. And got the curtain call, it’s nice to get both the front and back shots at the same time!
      I use autofocus. Actually the R5 with full coverage and eye/face/head/body detection is my new favorite remote.

    I may have missed it but what straps do you use to enable quick access to vertically gripped cameras.

    I know this is a year old now but I have a friend that plays for Luke Combs. His name is Dustin Nunley. My ex used to babysit for him and we went to the same church in town. I would love to take your upcoming class in Little Rock but I'm not sure yet if I'm going to get to drive in for it. I only have my z6 II but I have several lenses for it. I'm probably just going to use my 24-70 and 70-200 (both f/2.8) tonight. Jefferson Starship is performing at the Helen Keller festival here in Alabama tonight. I got a pass to take pictures. It's right there in the park in Tuscumbia. This will be my first big event to shoot.
