I have a 65” G2. One thing I noticed with the last firmware 04.40.91 was HDR formats acting a little goofy. To me, it was brightness fluctuations. Almost like the next scene of a movie was being presented and then about few seconds into the scene, it would be like “oh crap, that’s to bright” and then it would instantly dim or vice versa. Immediately after I bought this TV a year ago, I went into the service menu and disabled all auto dimming features (GSR, etc). So it was clearly the update. Downloading this new one now and I’ll update you in a week or so down the road to see if it continues.
Update:
I haven’t noticed any brightness fluctuations after downloading .93 so maybe that was one of their “bugs” that got squashed?
Always double check eco savings. Once i had everything reset to default with AI brightness and eco mode turned ON
I go through my settings at least twice a day. I’m overly (maybe even unhealthily) particular about my settings. Always double checking eco and AI settings to make sure they are off. Another thing some people don’t know is that if you change the advanced settings in any given picture mode, sometimes those settings activate an AI feature you don’t want on. So if you make changes to your advanced settings, make sure to double check AI settings under general tab.
Serious question: What's wrong with using any of the AI settings? I just realized AI picture brightness was turned on, so that must have been on since I bought the tv back in 2022 😅, but yea, I was using AI sound pro, too haven't seen a problem anyway with them on, I haven't noticed anyway. Eco setting, though I knew I should turn off and had off since I bought the tv.
@@TearsofJoy69er if you are just using the TV speakers for your audio then AI sound is actually a good thing. It does improve perceived surround quality and dialogue. There’s also nothing wrong with using the AI picture, brightness or genre settings as long as that looks good to you. You are the owner of your TV and you should put the settings to whatever looks good to you. That being said… they can add artifacting, noise, brightness fluctuations and smooth the picture out to the point that you lose fine detail. It just deviates from what’s called the “creators intent”. Some of us are just sticklers for wanting to see it as close to creators intent as possible. Again, do whatever looks good to you. I am not trying to convince anyone to watch the way I want to watch.
@X1TheMachine thanks for replying and letting me know. I turned that AI brightness setting off. I didn't realize it could Cause artifacts, and as for the AI sound pro, I'll keep it on, I guess, since I only use the tv speakers anyway unless I have my PS5 turned on/ using the ps5 elite headset that I have now since release. I also saw it online. If you can correct me if this is wrong, but I saw that pixel refresh, you don't have to do it manually at all since your tv uses the pixel refresh automatically every 4 hours of on screen time once you turn the tv off? Cause I have only 456 hours of screen time on the tv lol, and not once have I seen pixel refresh pop up whatsoever, and I've never done it manually myself.
I wish there was a way to stop the update notifications for the TV

I'm still on firmware 04.40.90, I no longer get update notifications after I installed a raspberry pi (pi-hole). Works like a charm
Hello, I always use the latest software in the hope that the problem with the brightness fluctuation will be solved. This has been with me since 03.33.85. Two repairs were unsuccessful. Currently it is 04.40.93. I didn't see an automatic restart. The update went as usual.
I have a 55" C2. Quick Access Links flashed on the screen, after this update. I don't really know what those are. I've searched my TV's menus, but I don't know what features the numbered links bring to you. That and I don't know what the colored buttons are for, on my remote control. Pressing them does nothing. I wish I could program one of them, to replace the OK button. I don't really like the OK wheel, sometimes. Especially when I'm trying to pause or unpause videos, on TH-cam. The ball on the OK button, likes to roll too much when I press on it sometimes.

I have a 77G2. My grandma bought herself a 42C3 and it has a whole different look menuwise. Do you have information when will that ui version available for G2?
I have a 65 C2 an update I’d like is one that would enable DTS passthrough. I have a large collection of Blu rays that are DTS and when I got this TV I realised too late why I couldn’t get the DTS soundtrack to play. There is a petition which over one thousand people have signed but LG still have not addressed the issue and what’s even more frustrating is that the C3 range does passthrough DTS !!!

Sure do! I've enjoyed owning this display the past 1.5 years or so. Has been a nice upgrade from previous Sony x950g.

I still have 03.33.65 and I have notice every now and then that my screen makes bunch of black/pink squares when in normal use steam app and web browsing. it doesnt happen when i play pc games.
Since Updating from 04.40.91 to Firmware 04.40.93 i have the problem that my LG remote control is not longer working with Apple TV. No functions are available. TV is a 55" C2. Update was pushed over the Air. Greetings from Germany.

eARC audio still dropping out...
Any changes or update to your eARC issue? You're definitely not the first to say that, I've seen quite a few posts about it over the last few weeks, mainly with the .91 - .93 updates... I have a new soundbar system sitting in the box that I haven't hooked up yet and it's very troubling to hear.. I suppose I'll get everything set up when I can and see if I have the same issues.. 65 C3 with an LG S95QR, should mostly just be plug n play I was hoping, assuming everything is working properly
S75QR soundbar connectivity drops for me at random and I have to power cycle with the soundbar remote to get it working properly. I have an OLED65C2. It does this when I turn on the TV or when I start playing PS5

Ok why are you putting your downloads on a flash you should be able to just hit update on your tv and boom

I realized much slower channel switching on cable tv with 4.40.93
My 55" G2 got a bit faster on that.

This update greyed out my settings for game optimizer mode for my ps5 and I can’t find a resolution. Anyone else here?

@@michaelmyersplays4992 smh kind of but not really. It’s annoying. I think it has something to do with having a soundbar or Bluetooth device connected to ur tv. Which I have none of so idk what the issue is. Last resort is I’m thinking of soft resetting the tv. Lmk if you find any fixes yourself boss please
