There were quite a few games like this that got completely overshadowed and forgotten. Sunsoft and Taito were responsible for quite a few of them. They were by far some of the coolest NES games I rented and never owned because they were typically hard to find and I couldn't decide which ones I liked best. If I did see any of these games in a store it was for an extremely short time. GI Joe games were much like these and are expensive if you can find them. This game and Shatterhand rocked and were both criminally underrated.
@@franciscor390Only button A & B on Nes. It's not complicated. I spent so much time to play with my Nes, I improved my skills !! But I have never finish a game on Nes except one: Kung Fu !!
@@briscardlebriscard8579True less buttons less trouble, still nes games can be somewhat demanding in terms of timing and platforming. Kung-fu also a quite challenging title with arcade difficulty.
I already beat it when teenager, but I didn't remember. I'm here because I restarted the game while it's on the Switch Virtual NES. Great memories. It was a short, but good game.
It’s the same game. Title was changed because censorship authorities in certain countries in Europe did not like the word “ninja” back then. Same reason as for the TMNT - TMHT changeup.
I remember when i play this one😏😂. First it was hard,but it took just time. I found the way and some special move,A+B buttons same time down. There was huge lightning,it took half of the energy but,damage was big for the boss at the sametime. Hard to say that i'm right but this is what i remember😏👍. Hope it will help somebody on the game😂. But i hope at the 2029 there is coming movie BlueShadow.
A disappointing, rattle-through of a long play. No love at all. At least by 3-1 he figured out to stick to the same weapon to upgrade it, but obviously couldn't be bothered to go back and rerecord the previous stages. Notice how the shuriken and bombs change depending on what level your weapon is at... A nice touch from the concept developer. What is unforgivable from this player though is not doing the special move: You hold down the attack button and you pull out a sword and hit everything with lightning. Also he couldn't be arsed with any of the hidden powerups, e.g. if you hit in the middle of the rotating platforms, something appears. The start of 5-1 seemed like he just wanted the video to be over, given the failure to take on the mech spiders. The music used to be lot slower and that spoiled the video.

Damn!!!! I played that game when i was 5 years old in 92 and I never managed to kill the birdman boss !! That game drove me crazy when I was kid.
Mad skills for a 5 year old, most kids at that age pretty much just press random buttons.

yo, some masterful work here, especially on that Stage 4 end boss! Good stuff, I'll have to bust out this game again.
The music plays very fast, but nice longplay. It's one of my favorite games :)
The result of playing this PAL version with the emulator set to US mode, makes the game run too fast when it isn't optimized to do so.

i had this game loooong time ago it was not called blue shadow but Kage in a Cartridge

Because the sword is much more powerful when fully upgraded. It's just weak in the beginning. Tha'ts why.
In one way I like this game more than Ninja Gaiden(Shadow Warrior in Europe) since you don’t get trown backwards every f-ing time you get hit.

Just to add, with the sickle and chain, you can direct it diagonally upwards, which wasn't demonstrated in this video.
