Thanks for the video! This is what we used to call cane pole fishing or stick pole fishing. Lots of fun! I still use this method on occasion. But most of the ponds around here, "Northeast Oklahoma" Tulsa area, have so much moss and crap growing around them. So, you need a set up you can cast past the green crap with. Good information in the video. Thanks again.👍👍👍
I don't get to go out on lunch breaks, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't keep a rig in the work car with me so I can get a few throws in while I'm on the road. Well, sometimes that can be called a lunch break. I have a tiny grab and go kit with a 6.5ft rod, a small box of flies, a spare line, a couple tools, and a roll of leader in a small MOLLE pouch that I can clip on my belt or throw over my shoulder. Other than the rod, it's small enough that it basically fits in my hand. The whole thing can go in a glove box with plenty of room to spare. I have the tenkara bug pretty hard this year. Last year I focused mostly on ultralight and catfishing, but this year I want to do more tenkara than anything else.
My rod kit arrives today. Thanks for the video.
I wasn’t even aware of tenkara. Now I’m interested in it. Great video!
It's fun!
Love the wooden storage box you build in the 4runner.

Great video! Could you post a link for the rod tube holders at the beginning of your video?🙏🏻
We asked the angler he said, The carbon tube that the rod is in came with the rod as a package deal and the clamps are called Quick Fists.

What brand of Tenkara rod are you using?
We asked the angler and he said Teton by Tenkara Rod Company.
That first fish is what we call a Warmouth in Ohio. Similar in shape and look to a Green Sunfish with the colors of a Pumpkinseed
Yup ...... warmouth down here in the south too
What tenkara rods do you use?
