Dear parents! When Your kids are very good behaviour all the time and always taking good care of their things, keeping their rooms very clean, loving their favorite things and want to make nice childhood collections of their things: books, clothes, toys, video games, clothes, DVDs and etc, then donataing is very wrong thing to do. If You have few space then storage boxes and shelves will help You out and Your kids will be very happy and thankful then, if they can keep their favourite things. Childhood things are very valuable and it is very sad, if they won’t see them anymore in their life. Every child should have the right to keep their things, if they can take good care of them all the time!!! Respectfully, Astra Viil 🥰🙏
Thank you for your response. I totally agree. I don’t think parents should be getting rid of things that are special to a child or part of a child’s special collection either. Like you said whether it’s books, games, toys, and etc. I have two little ones, one of them is 2 and she breaks everything. So most of my cleaning ends up turning out to be throwing toys away because they’re completely broken; or getting rid of the baby toys. Mind you, I do save special toys that they loved. So my daughter had a special bear that crawled that she’s loved for a year and a half. So when I go to get rid of those toys I will pull that bear out and tuck it away in my memories bin for the kids. My son is just getting to a place where he has special things. I know his special things because he takes good care of those and he is always telling us about his special stuff. I wouldn’t throw those away or donate them. For my son, I do the same thing. If there was something that was so special to him for a long time and he grew out of it or even lost interest in it, I will put that in the same bin as I do Cherith’s stuff. I’m not out to just get rid of everything they love. I’m getting rid of what isn’t loved anymore. My kids would keep everything and then they wouldn’t be able to enjoy those things they do love. I have special memories from my childhood and I have special things that I held onto from my childhood. Those things I still have. My kids will have their stuff that was special to them too. But it’s also just stuff, and stuff isn’t memories. The memories are what’s inside you and you share with others. I’m all for my kids having collections and special things, but not every toy is that special thing or collection. The more you have the less special things become. The less you have, the more room in your heart and home for those special things and memories to be stored. Like wrestling with daddy on the floor, or helping mommy bake, or even doing a 20 minute speed clean as an entire family. Those are memories! Thanks again for watching and chatting. ❤️
Wow…that was a ride down memory lane 🥰🥰🥰 I think all kids love Lego! They were popular in my home as well ☺️
I know!! I will probably keep those for grandkids in the future. 😉
