KEXP is the best radio on Earth. It gives voice, space, and visibility to bands that aren't part of the mainstream scenario. I loved to discover this great band! Thanks KEXP Hugs from Brazil!
I mean they are great. But I just feel a bit unfulfilled when the artist isn’t emotionally expressive on stage. Like for example the front woman of PORRIDGE RADIO or BULLY.
Yes! Saw them open for Silversun Pickups in Orlando. Was blown away! Likewise: Obsessed! Bass player stands, aloof, as though she'd rather be anywhere but on stage--so badass. (I think she's their secret weapon!) Brilliant act--all three members!
@@clank4001 i like the bassist cause her bass lines are pretty cool and constantly in my head. But yeah, the drummer is amazing, playing an instrument and singing is tough
We saw them in St. Petersburg opening for Silversun Pickups. What an interesting band. The drum patterns felt innovative as hell and really worked well with the bass player to create an amazing rhythm. Lead singer's vocals felt a little low in the mix and it was hard to hear her but they had a merch boot set up and were fun to talk with. After asking if they had a CD for sale and getting looked at like I just asked for an 8-track, I figured out that a google of "Hello Mary" might be best and I found their debut vinyl on Amazon for $20 (or you can get the mp3s for like $9) and it is an incredible listen and came with lyrics (whew because sometimes the vocals are a little tough to decipher). The guitar riffs are interesting, the drums and bass are fresh and definitely don't feel overproduced. They aren't exactly grunge but I just have that same feeling when I first got into those experimental grunge bands of the early 90s. They have a lot of talent and I hope they keep going AND I hope we get to see them again live now that I know a few of their tunes.
Went to see Silversun Pickups in Asbury Park NJ last week. Hello Mary opened. I had never heard of them but I was captivated. It reminded me of Throwing Muses or maybe Belly. Love the crunchy guitar riffs, bass is amazing, and love the time changes and harmony. Picked up a vinyl and have been spinning it all week.
They are a great band. They’ve gotten even better than this since then. There’s a video of a recent show they did in Denton, Texas on TH-cam and it is just a magnificent, majestic thing. Their swagger is off the hinges, at this point.
On their new album when I listen to it I sometimes feel like it could be a Radiohead song the way it makes me feel and the sound. Hello Mary are so damn good.
@@shacharh5470 C'mon, the chord progressions and the harmony singing is AiC 101. Ok, AiC for beginners but it's easy to hear what inspired their sound.
@@shacharh5470 The two singer aspect is a lot like AiC. Of the three, definitely most like Nirvana musically - but I honestly wouldn't say they are much like any of those bands, or even grunge.

The bass riffs L❤️VE … ah this band !!!

I fell in love with Helena Straight after a recent show they did in Cleveland. Met her, chatted with her and got a picture with her.
Such youthful presence along with great musical talent is a powerful thing. "Knowing You" is exceptionally outstanding and magical.
Speaking as a retiree in Florida, I LOVE the youthful presence. I would be more than proud to have one of my granddaughters doing this.
They’ve got that nostalgic vibe in their music!!
Little Velocity Girl in them
Rock still exists!!! Love this group just found them out yesterday and been playing their music non stop

Seen them last night with Silversun Pickups. They absolutely rocked! Had no idea who they were, and they blew me away.

One of the best upcoming bands in the US. They are already so good! I love them!
So refreshing to hear bands that still rock
Okay...this is REALLY good! Thanks so much for sharing all these wonderful bands. Helps keep an old guy in the know.
These ladies KILLED IT opening for SSPU the other night at Jannus! Obsessed!

That drummer is refreshingly lucid.
Best Modern Grunge band right now. Able to use the grunge sound without it sounding dated and gimmicky. Love them!!!
They are shoegaze lol
soul blind tho

is a tough call. the bassist is killing it but like in an unassuming way. The drummer's playing and voice are top notch! Helena is no slouch too

All three of them are amazing musicians. I really dig these girls. I hope they stick around for a while.
Saw these ladies this past Thursday night opening for Silversun Pickups. They kicked ass!
Sink In was pretty awesome. Great bass walking... I like the strum on the upbeat.
3:13 actually said 'OH SHIT' out loud at how hard this riff grooved
KEXP is my one-stop shop for great music.

Very grunge. Digging it.
Hello Marry just poped on my radar. Very much reminds me of my youth!😊 I hear heavy elements of That Dog, and The Breeders!
Just discovered them about 5 months ago maybe, still awaiting to see them in L.A.
The future is bright!
Definitely love that last one. Keep doing what youre doing guys!

we love you hello mary
I love KEXP and Cheryl Waters. Greetings from Japan.
Reminds me a bit of the album Auscultate by the '90s Swedish grunge band Salt. Soundtrack to many a high school car ride.
Saw them open for American Football this past weekend. They were so good!
Powerful trio! Bass player is getting down
Yes pls
Excellent set.
Excellent! I love SLEATER KINNEY!
Knowing you absolutely crushes!! Love the tone.. women.💗💪🏼

Kick ass NY girls!!!
I like this music
Very cool band!!!
A Nirvana Uzeda and Breeders perfect mix😍
Reminds me a lot of Eric’s Trip. Great Sounds.
Love those guitars 🎸
Strong 90's vibes here. I bet they'd list Shudder to Think as one of their influences.
Reminds me of Silverchair. Bravo jam on
Hell yes!
Mikaela sure can play that bass !! Very cool !! :)
Hey it’s fav, hello Mary
Take It From Meeeeeeeeeeeeee 🖤

It’s like it’s 1994 and Cub didn’t suck.
This is solidddddd. 😵
Bass player is very good. Watch her left hand!
Totally agree - I wish I could play bass like that.
nice music
so great !!!!!
Guitar solo on Sink In is groovy as fuck.
check out the band Helium. They've got that vibe. So glad to hear influences of underground 90s coming forward now.

Rabbit is perfect for a mosh pit. Grunge vibes!!
Nice understanding of using a 3 piece ensemble.
fuck this is fucking good shit
You put it very well.
I appreciate that while they’re grunge… they get atonal like kimchi. Sour can be good with some sweet harmonies
One word; Rad. This band is the torch bearer for Grunge revival.
wow im now a big fan great music kind of weirdly reminds me of mbv isnt anything
I dig the dissonance.
Why they didn't play Special Treat or Stinge? 😿
very nice ideas and arrangement, but... put lady on drums on main vocals
Listened to everything twice 🤘
to anyone who enjoys hello mary, check out frances of delirium
Rabbit sounds like Blandest from Nirvana. I mean I like it, sounds cool.
like the rabbit song is good
drummer reminds of mxmtoon and bass seems cool like bass person from starcrawler
Hello Mary, I'm Rod 👋
Nirvana, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden, only played by grrls. Very køöl.

The lead singer needs to keep her eyes open while singing. Her eyes are mesmerizing.
Hello, WHAT!! Rolling Stone said "Some folks say rock is dying. OK, sure- but have they heard Hello Mary?" Oh yeah! Another nail in rocks coffin. RIP!
Grunge (Nirvana style) Is back with a little bit of stoner on top 👍
