Lmao this is why players call fans stupid and say they don’t know football. You’re not in the locker room at all. You don’t know if he lost that locker room lol
A large part of the fan base was very frustrated with both AR and Steichan. AR lost the fan base with the tap out. It will be very hard for him to come back from that. The Colts locker room is strong, but its virtually impossible for the team to be full behind him.
Quarterback position has essentially been in place since Sid Luckman 80 years ago and I have never heard of a QB going off for a breather. If you're tired then audible to a play that doesn't involve the quarterback needing to do much to catch your breath. It isn't like a running quarterback is a new thing and somehow everyone else gets through the game no problem.
AR5 was a horrific draft pick at QB. Dude can't hit the broad side of a barn, and never could in college. No idea what Irsay was on ... was he back on the snow?
That’s is 25% on AR and 75% on coaching. They cultivated an environment in which he thinks it’s ok to tap out in a game. They’ve allowed to obviously miss conditioning and be out of shape. They are simply not coaching him hard enough. I can’t even begin to imagine a Nick Saban or Belichick player tapping out because he’s tired. To me it’s pure and simple poor leadership from the coaches.
There's such a thing as too much honesty. Say you're hurt right there, you pulled something, you're cramping up, and this is a complete non-story. Do it for your teammates if nothing else.
The only time i can remember a qb being "tired" was when donovan mc nabb had that 20 second scramble to buy time and threw the ball for a 1st down, i think it was on 4th down , but that was understandable atm, he was buying time for days. This just makes Richardson look bad imo, considering the next play was a handoff i believe
I can’t help but think of Matt Stanford in the game against the brownies, had his shoulder separated and stayed in to throw the winning TD. That’s how you earn the respect of your Team. Richardson won’t ever have his team’s complete support, until he can show some toughness.
I'm a Seahawks fan. I remember when the 2023 draft was happening there was so much talk about Seattle grabbing him at 5, you have no idea how relieved I was that the Colts took him. AR looked like a classic case of "Talent can be a curse" to me. I know the man is a monster athlete, but talent alone doesn't historically do so well in the QB position.
If I were the coach, Richardson just earned a week of cross country practice. Run around the stadium from the start of practice till the end no stops no breaks
Belichick bought several tons of dirt and had it plowed into hills at the end of the Patriots' practice field. Everyone ran up and down "the hills of Foxborough" on a regular basis to build up strength and endurance. Everyone hated it, they loathed it, but they ran it. And they admitted that it helped.
Colts made a mistake drafting Richardson. Time to admit it and move on. He’s inaccurate…. Injury prone…. And soft. Tapping out bc he was tired is unacceptable.
@@kurtmajors1166 Lookup "Anthony Richardson has a new touchdown celebration!" to understand what I am talking about, I think you are thinking of another play where he celebrated like an idiot for no reason. Seems to be his MO.
Richardson should have just said "Got a charlie horse" or something that makes sense to get to the sideline. Honestly, he's been bad this year. Really, really bad. He's very young and he seems like that kind of project QB that should be on the bench for three years before taking the field (like Jordan Love) while learning everything he can about being a pro, as well as learning in the film room. This desperation to win on rookie QB contracts is going to be bad for most teams, other than the occasional stars like Stroud or Daniels. Benching Richardson for the year, and possibly next year, might save his career. Right now he's Jamarcus Russell.
Donovan McNabb obviously threw up on the last drive of the 2004 super bowl because he was either exhausted or the pressure was getting to him, either way he still won't admit it. The media would have crushed him in Philadelphia if he told them he was tired omg 😂
The amount of time he had to throw the ball was just as crazy to me as the completed pass really. Texans game ended on a would-be hail mary as well, except we got a sack with an exotic three man rush.
I don't know the first thing about scouting quarterbacks, but I do know the second thing: When a college QB looks like crap on a game I'm watching as a casual viewer, that's not a first round NFL QB.
We berated a WR on the Chargers for not tapping out, who was unable to complete a goal line play because he was exhausted. I don't care that he said honestly he was tired, but he deserves all the condemnation for being so out of shape he can't go.
How tired do you have to be to walk back to the huddle, and hand the ball off? He walked to the sidelines, could have walked right back to the huddle... Entitlement generation...
When he only completed 10 out of 34 throws, I can't blame him for removing himself. Anthony has talent, but I think he needs to sit and watch for awhile. He was never ready to start.

I agree. It does not matter what he says or does to try and fix this. You got a glimpse Into his DNA. Time to move on.
I am a Colts fan and loved AR but man he needs to sit a few games for this.
Would rather he do some conditioning instead
Needs to sit for 2 more yrs. He is a bust😂
he's a bust and mgmt owns that.....its a total failure
I’s tired boss 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
😂
🤣😂
Just got benched 😂
Richardson lost the locker room Sunday. Gonna have to claw back somehow
He coming back from an injury and it's not like the oline is helping
O-Line not blocking and 9 WR Drops don’t help.
Lmao this is why players call fans stupid and say they don’t know football. You’re not in the locker room at all. You don’t know if he lost that locker room lol
@scruffd0g193 exactly bro like what football they watching?
@VvVT734 ikr
He was 50/ 50 at U. Of Fl...not a 1st round pick
Dude was cheeks
Strength & Conditioning Coach removing AR from his Christmas list right about now.
A large part of the fan base was very frustrated with both AR and Steichan. AR lost the fan base with the tap out. It will be very hard for him to come back from that. The Colts locker room is strong, but its virtually impossible for the team to be full behind him.
Not ready for NFL
Can't imagine this sat well with the offensive lineman who battle all game long.
He can't complete a decent percentage of his passes. Throwing bricks all day must be tiring.
He was told the next play was going to be a hand off and STILL wanted to come out the game.
That has go to be one of the weakest things I've ever seen from a QB in the NFL
If I were Flacco I would be like WTF?
AR5 was a horrific draft pick at QB. Dude can't hit the broad side of a barn, and never could in college. No idea what Irsay was on ... was he back on the snow?
There were no better QBs available and the colts needed one so they took a shot. Simple as
That’s is 25% on AR and 75% on coaching.
The QB should be the last person to be tired
Offensive/Defensive Lineman get to use the I'm tired excuse.
They have to battle every down
@jordandennis6794 that's what saying they actually have to do something qb doesn't really
Im still waiting to see how we’re going to use his record breaking vertical from the combine.
EVERYONE in the sports media was drooling over Richardson pre-draft and after four games into his career.
Also during super bowl 39
He may have well just said he was seeing ghosts. "I'm tired" isn't just a locker room issue, that's a career breaker.
😂 Anthony Richardson should've kept that to himself.
Huge mistake admitting that
I can’t help but think of Matt Stanford in the game against the brownies, had his shoulder separated and stayed in to throw the winning TD. That’s how you earn the respect of your Team. Richardson won’t ever have his team’s complete support, until he can show some toughness.
Rich why do we need your advice? he will be just fine this is a great thing.
We should just start Flacco, could move Richardson into a tight end (sounds crazy? He has the talent to be a tight end) and draft a new QB.
Hey, at least he didn't have a heart attack!!!
To be fair, I played competitive ball back in 5th grade, and there were times I got tired..
Richardson could wipe the floor with a 12 year old. Aaron Rodgers on the other hand... It'd be close.
@@Freddie7191That's about the only team he can beat.
JOE FLACCO DOESNT NEED A BREAK??????? HE DOESNT MOVE??!???!??!
The Coach made the play call
He was too honest for no reason lol
That's the same dude that celebrated a teammates preseason TD like he just won the damn Super Bowl.
To be fair. He was celebrating AD Mitchell's (a rookie) first NFL TD
@@kurtmajors1166
Lookup "Anthony Richardson has a new touchdown celebration!" to understand what I am talking about, I think you are thinking of another play where he celebrated like an idiot for no reason. Seems to be his MO.
Heck. I appreciate the honesty😄
You meant stupidity
Richardson is such a raw young talent. He needs to sit and learn behind Flacco.
It also gives away the next play call!
ABSOLUTELY PISSES ME OFF!!!!
Keeping him in, let alone keeping him on the team sets a terrible example. For both him and more importantly, his team.
Donovan McNabb obviously threw up on the last drive of the 2004 super bowl because he was either exhausted or the pressure was getting to him, either way he still won't admit it. The media would have crushed him in Philadelphia if he told them he was tired omg 😂
Terrell Owens accused him of being tired 😂
It can break a team LMAO
Pretty sure 'im tired' was cover for 'i dont get it and im very frustrated about it'
I love how apparently no one has ever seen a successful hail mary before this weekend now
The amount of time he had to throw the ball was just as crazy to me as the completed pass really. Texans game ended on a would-be hail mary as well, except we got a sack with an exotic three man rush.
Joe flacco- is the answer for the rest of the season.
There is no discussion on this
The same guy said that college was easier than the pros as a Gators fan who saw Anthony he never tapped out once and said he was tired in Florida
Wind sprints are important at the end of practice OH WAIT, they dont practice anymore...
Entitlement Generation indeed!!! Sit his sorry a$$ down for the rest of the year, then find him a new home.
like it or not qb is the face and the leader of the team. unless you got injured you can't tap out.
Letting Minshew was a big mistake.
This is exactly why Flacco knew the Colts would give him the best chance for playing time when he signed in the offseason.
Hey AR... two words for you... Byron Leftwich.
Officials took 3 colts scores off the board.
Never heard a QB say he took himself out because he was tired
Narrator: "They did, in fact, bench Anthony Richardson."
Honesty is never good.
Side note Josh Downs is a beast
I like AR
He was tireddd bruh he can’t lie 😂
When he only completed 10 out of 34 throws, I can't blame him for removing himself. Anthony has talent, but I think he needs to sit and watch for awhile. He was never ready to start.
I'm in Indy. Lifetime fan. Our current GM would have selected Leaf over Manning. He's got to go.
