Just a tip.... wear the shirt without washing it. Most cats find alot of comfort in their owners scent.

Easy way to do this: find a shirt you don't wear anymore, wash it if you want (to be clean at least), then sleep in the shirt. It'll get your sent without getting dirty through out the day or have any odor. ♡
My cat tent creation story: I went to the dollar store to get metal coat hangers because all mine were wood. At the dollar store I found ready made pop up cat tents for $3.

Omg! Our tent was looking so bad, but our cat didn't care about looks. He got right in it & went to sleep! He freaking loves it! Thanks for this awesome diy! The hot glue tip was very helpful. I can't believe how much our cat loves it!
I'm really glad you made a video of this. I've come across the tutorial before and half of it made no sense. I'm assuming it wasn't simply a repost, but someone trying to take credit for the idea and explaining it very poorly, because it seemed as though the one you followed was very legible. Brilliant!!! Had seen a different version, in which they didn't use the base...
Just a small suggestion, instead of a cardboard, if you use a ply as the base, the tent becomes really sturdy! :)

And use some wire on the hangers instead of masking tape. Even duct tape would be better then masking tape.

This was an awesome tutorial. I had all the supplies, made a 15" x 15" cardboard bottom with a soft old tee shirt and it turned out perfectly! Set it outside my door for an old, one-eye'd deaf stray cat that has been "guarding" my front door and now he has a semi-safe place to lay. :-) Thanks for sharing this with us. It was super easy to make!

These are honestly the best projects for cats, I have made a few DIY cat toys and my cat "Tippy" loves them!, I am also looking forward to making the DIY cat pin since my cat loves to sleep in warm closed space places so I figured he might like it, and hopefully I will soon to be making a list of what I could make for my cat, anyways thanks and keep up the great work, toodles! :)

I need outdoor sturdier ones for feral cats. Any ideas? It can't be plastic totes because it has to fit next to or on downtown buildings and blend into the building color. Elevated or slightly elevated preferred.
