We took this beautiful mountain pass from Telluride to Ouray in Aug 2020. The views of the mountain range was breathtaking and we also spotted cool old mines on the way. This pass is highly recommended if you're into off-roading.
Initially, we were skeptical taking a stock 2020 Toyota Tundra, but ended up just fine. We are so glad we took the chance of doing this pass, we had an amazing time and it was totally worth it!

I drove Imogene in August '98 in my '97 S-10 ZR2. The narrow uphill section was sketchy, but the trail was okay after that. Beautiful trail and you have a great rig.✌️

Sure is...but of course Black Bear Pass is worse.
Personally, I'd not be doing ANY drinking while driving. NONE.

Ya i heard Black Bear Pass is worse. TBH, imogene pass wasnt that bad. As long as you have some ground clearance, a spotter and a driving license, u r good to go :)

@@rajeevneupane I plan on going half-way up Black Bear Pass -- to the summit where the sign is, take some pics, but then go back the way I came. Am not going the OTHER half of the pass down into Telluride -- I have a fear of heights (Acrophobia)!

Awesome video. I've been on this trail in a jeep before. Beautiful country. I have a 2020 trd pro now as well and may hit those trails like you did.

Love it! My wife wouldn't be a big fan of the narrow cliff areas so I'll have to put this one on the list for next dude's trip.

Nice view up there, about 3 months ago, I just got my first 2020 Toyota tundra crewmax. I live here in Colorado and in the spring I would like to try that trail. My Tundra come with the predator step. But I just ordered a RCI rock slider, summer time I will order a lift kit. Anyway, it's nice to see a full size truck up there. Have a good day.

Bro i got RCI sliders on mine as well. After the dings, my predator steps were no good lol

Im from Minnesota and have the same truck. I glad you guys did this. I'm going to do this trail as well. What time of the year was it when you guys did this trail.

      Have fun.

Isn’t black bear one way only? Going from telluride to Ouray would be going the wrong way. Nice rig though

The tight switchbacks are one-way downhill only.

Well well… So I guess a stock/stock’ish Tundra or full-size land yacht can make it! I’ve got a 2012 Tundra CrewMax on 33’s and was wondering how comfortable I’d be attempting this/these trails around Telluride. My only real concern were/are those tight switch-backs. I’ve seen JKU’s and the like wheelbases doing it without much fuss, but when I park next to one, I’m just left feeling like I dwarf it comparison. I’ve got sliders, skids, and an ARB bumper and winch, so I guess I give it a go. Was hoping most all of these trails are fairly wide open (no pulling away tree branches etc.) because that’s my only real complaint with wheeling such a large (daily) vehicle.

Idk if u already went. But ya no pulling away tree branches…switchbacks aren’t bad at all…the only concern i had was the clearance and i DINGed my predator steps. Now i got the sliders :) will prolly do it again :)
