Josh, I am loving your videos as it 100% reminds me of my early adulthood on a dairy farm. I started work as a teenager and left as an adult, I literally learnt that much. Working on a dairy farm taught me pride in my work, what a days graft really was and to be responsible for myself with no one to blame if I fucked up (which happened a fair bit!). My boss was hard on me when I let him down but a rock when I grafted and made genuine mistakes. It has stood me in such good stead for the rest of my working life and I look back on it with a huge amount of pride and love for the people I worked with.
Thanks Andy! It’s gotta be the best job in the world, hence why I wanted to go back to it! Helps to be on a farm with great facilities and people too!
Now that was fast moooving Josh and I loved the one man show (and his dogs), and it still amazes me how quickly you can milk that size of herd, but then again I am comparing with the 60s & 70s where doing 150 took us 3 hours. Nice seeing Gus out with his pals. Thanks.
It’s a quick parlour that’s for sure! Great cow flow as well!
Cracking video as always josh 👍👍👍
Thanks Sandy!
Really enjoying the videos Josh!! Keep up the superb work! All the best buddy!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🐄🐄
Thank you! 👌🏼👍🏼
Great video ,such a lot to remember when you clean after milking❤
Thanks Sara! There is! Took me a week or so to remember it all!
Well done :)
Well done Josh, great video
Thanks Toni!
Good job mate
👌🏼🤙🏼
Great to see with his work colleagues.
When are we having "Gus Cam" ?
Seems funny you drying cows off just after the Nrw Zealanders dry theirs off for their winter.
It’s odd that when you think this is an autumn herd and most of the kiwi ones are spring
Mr Gus not happy when you left him in the land rover while you doing the milking. Nice one josh
Gotta know what’s happening all the time that dog!
You should look into raising the frame of that parlour if your going to be more than a year milking there, doesn't look too big a job or maybe the middle line could be put over the frame , too much duckin and head bangs.
Yep it’s on the list! I’ve just done all the pull cords this week so I’m below all those now!
Of course you were left in charge. You know what you're doing! Hey Gus!
Something like that! 😂
Another awesome video Josh thats fair going to milk that many on you're own in 2 hours its a busy few hours getting them in and getting paddocks ready you wouldn't want to be on you're own every day
Really enjoyed the video as always looking
forward to the next one
It’s a quick parlour! And it’s a system that can be managed by one person when it has to be, but like you say, not every day!
@@JMFarming 👍
Good video that's good going milking all those cows on your own in 2 hours 👌
It’s a quick parlour!
Are there many dairy farms in the UK that run an autumn calving system? Not that common over here more spring calving systems or some split systems. Any particular why the farm is running autumn calving as it can be a more costly system to run.
There seems to be a lot of them down our way. It suits the ground as it drys out bad here in summer but we can grow big crops of maize to winter feed. Whatever suits the farm I guess
Nice work Josh
Cheers pal! 🤙🏼
Another busy day josh. I don’t think Gus was to impressed with getting in with the dogs.
Indeed! He gets on fine when he’s in there! I suppose it’s their space!
Good man josh, no bother to you. 👍
🤙🏼🤙🏼
