  • In this video on the Hemi powered Model A Hot Rod build, I modify the rear inner panel to gain trunk space! I'm trying to figure out how it all fits together. I will begin final fitment of the trunk soon, and It's almost time to start fabricating the rear floor pans and install patch panels!
There's still plenty to do! Subscribe and click the notification bell so you don't miss a thing! Please leave a comment, and thanks for watching!!
Coming up soon on the 1928 Model A HEMI powered traditional Hot Rod project... Chassis fabrication, finishing the rear subrails, fitting oversize door pins, rebuilding door latches, squaring the trunk opening and fitting the trunk/rumble lid, rust repair on the trunk, doors, and quarter panels,

Thanks for enduring the struggle, Phillip! Now I'm gonna hafta go check out how Heath did his rear panel modification! (smile)
You've given me an excellent process to follow for modifying my own rear panel! Enjoy! Be safe! Get well!
    Bro Harry

The struggle is real. Been a tough few weeks. Hopefully, the way I did it will help you. I'm sure there are other ways to do it, and you may even come up with a better idea!

What a big difference that made and so much extra trunk space now, nice work and liked how that bead roller worked too!

That trunk panel turned pretty nice! That's a different idea of the top, keeping the vinyl. I guess its done before, but i havent seen a Model A, chopped top with a vinyl. It sure is something different, so go for it!

I think it will look awesome. I’ve seen pictures of chopped special coupes. I’ll try to find one and insert it in my next video.

Panel modification turned out nice, Phillip... Definitely gives you more usable floor area in the back...
Thanks for explaining the difference between the different models, I for one didn’t know the difference between the two... and your future plans for yours, definitely sounds great...
Nice to see that you assembled the Beadroller and got to use it some...
Any plans on adding a motor or round handle to it as others have ??
From what I can tell it’s cumbersome trying to work the crank and keep the panel straight in alignment with the dies...
Thanks for shooting the video for us even though you weren’t 100 percent... It’s much appreciated...
Hope you get to feeling much better,,, just working out in the garage sometimes, turns out to be good medicine... lol
    Later my friend...

Using the bead roller was kind of cumbersome by myself. I’ve been watching some videos on modifying them, and I really like the idea of having a motor on it. I will at least put a wheel on it for sure. The handle just isn’t going to cut it. I’ll also build a stand for it. And you are so right, getting out in the garage is good medicine. It always feels good to get back out to the shop after being sick. Have a good week friend!

Well, all the rest of my projects are going to be unchopped. I’ve got to chop something 😎. We will see.

@@phillipshotrodgarage it will look good either way. Chopped cars are becoming the norm for these late 20-30s cars. I'll support the build either way 👍💪

Can you notch the vertical panel around the rain gutter to facilitate easier removal and install?

@@tonydaniels3093 that’s awesome man, I wish you were, that would be great. I never have anyone to stop by to see it. I know I have some local people watching my videos, but I don’t really have any hot rod buddies, as far as folks that will hang out in the shop. I’m a lone wolf, no club LOL.
