The diesel engine (correctly known as a compression-ignition or CI engine) is an internal combustion engine in which ignition of the fuel that has been injected into the combustion chamber is caused by the high temperature which a gas achieves (i.e. the air) when greatly compressed (adiabatic compression). Diesel engines by work compressing only the air. This increases the air temperature inside the cylinder to such a high degree that it ignites atomised diesel fuel that is injected into the combustion chamber. This contrasts with spark-ignition engines such as a petrol engine (gasoline engine) or gas engine (using a gaseous fuel as opposed to petrol), which use a spark plug to ignite an air-fuel mixture. In compression-ignition engines, glow plugs (combustion chamber pre-warmers) may be used to aid starting in cold weather, or when the engine uses a lower compression-ratio, or both. The original compression-ignition engine operates on the "constant pressure" cycle of gradual combustion and produces no audible knock.

This is just awesome graphics/animation. Absolutely awesome.
One of the best explanations out there, thank you for your effort.
Superb content sir
One of the best detailed explanation.
Superb work. Hard work and Efforts of explanation for this video are commendable
Great! Can I use your video for training in VietNam? Thanks
one of the best explanations I've ever seen=) why glow plugs not mentioned?
Thank you for uploading
Very good info.. very well explained... you must be a speed reader to read it without pushing pause lol.. but still a great video
mashallah bohat ache bhai
Easiest way to understand working and injection of air and diesel in diesel engine..
Stages of combustion of fuel
And valve timing diagram
where's the glow plug???
how to work train
But why do diesel engines have more mileage figures than petrol ones
diesel engines are built stronger than the petrol they have much higher compression so they last longer also diesels have inside the engine lower temperatures petrol have high temperatures due to how its burnt then it burns everything , diesel is like a strong horse built petrol is like a skinny horse than can run fast and dies quickly
video looked good but started with the most annoying sound ever. Like 10 hives of pissed off bees from random directions?
Wow very good
Spells diesel wrong lol
YOU FORGOT ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PARTS OF A DIESEL. IT WOULDNT RUN WITHOUT ONE.
Power stroke
