    Info about the length of Big Mac bridge is inaccurate.

    Ludington State Campground is Michigan's #1 campground.

    I have lived in MI my whole life but your video was very helpful in planning next year’s Double Motorhome Vacation (I am renting two Class C Motorhomes to travel w/son’s fam who has nine kids). We will largely follow your itinerary (although starting with two nights in Silver Lake SP). Also, going to Mackinac Island! I figure the total cost for ten days will be about $4-5k but the memories will be priceless. I like your style and info. Gratefully yours, John

    When you say "no water or sewer, but dump and fill station" are you saying, Yes, you have electric hook up at your site, but no water hook up at your site??

    My family and I stayed next to you at the Hessel casino campground. We had the old 80's fithwheel. Just found your channel while looking for things to do in Travers City. Keep up the good work.

      Hey Jonathan, thanks for reaching out! We really enjoyed that campground - especially all the free firewood.

    On your way back south checkout Frankenmuth MI they have the world's largest Christmas village. The town is amazing , they have a yogis bear campground, a awesome zoo for the kids and a putt putt golf. World famous chicken. Do the family style dinner. Loved how much of the greatness you showed of Michigan. 🥰

      Checkout the soo locks in the upper Pennisula. Very historic town. You can take a tour boat ride through the locks.

      Great suggestions. We did the Soo Locks, it was very interesting. One of the wildest things was seeing the International Bridge EMPTY! Strange times, for sure.
      When I initially read your comment I thought you were talking about Christmas, MI (just West of Munising) and I was thinking, this is just a Casino, surely she can’t be suggesting this! But now I see it’s in central Michigan. Unfortunately we are making our way West through the UP and will exit through WI, but we will have to check it out next time!

    Several years we visited Brimley State Park along Lake Superior. It was beautiful and had some very nice picnic buildings with inside accommodations for cooking and eating out of the wind. We didn’t camp there but we’ve been wanting to go back since our first visit. Thanks for sharing where you stayed. We love Tequamenon Falls as well. Didn’t camp there but hiked to the falls many years ago. Enjoy Michigan. It has a lot to offer.

      We’ve heard good things about Brimley. We’re also loving Michigan. Totally unexpected! Turns out those Pure Michigan campaigns weren’t lying.

    I can't believe Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park did not make your list. Is it just because you did not visit it? Porcupine is probably the BEST state park in Michigan (it is certainly the largest). A note on Interlochen State Park Park: it is not a very good park for Tent campers, the ground is very rocky, which can make it very difficult to stake your tent (or anything else). It looks like you stayed at the Rivermouth campground at Tahquamenon Falls State Park, we really like that campground also, although we have not yet stayed at the other campgrounds there. Other fantastic Michigan State Parks include Indian Lake State Park (near Manistique, great for overnighting on the way to other U.P. parks, and probably the quietest Michigan State Park we have ever camped in), Brimley State Park (near Sault St. Marie and the Soo Locks) and Burt Lake State Park (very large sites and fantastic for boaters).

    Buddy, from someone whose sailed medium size boats through the Straits: you were courting danger on the paddleboard. If you get to the point where the current was much stronger than where you were, the current gets much stronger, the water gets colder and there's a strong undertow.

    Michigan's smallest state park packs a ton of beauty into just a small park. Laughing Whitefish Falls State Park. It consists of a parking lot, a ¾ mile trail through the woods, and the very cool waterfall.

    My girlfriend calls me a tour guide of Michigan I've probably camped everywhere in that state I'm going to tell you guys if you come back it is a must that you take the kids and go to fort Wilkerson State Park in copper harbor and then go climb brockway mountain you have no idea what kind of beauty you're going to see only that you guys need to go to porcupine mountains manistique Marquette lake michigamme and if you guys got a side-by-side there is a ton of trails just remember in the up alone there's over 200 waterfalls quantum falls is nothing compared to bond falls

    • @ProjectTrek
      @ProjectTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great recommendations! The only thing we didn’t get to do on your list was Bond Falls.
      We absolutely fell in love with the UP. We’ll definitely be back!

      Also if you guys can make sure to stop between the two towns called Greenland and Mass City Michigan since you have kids and make sure to check out adventure mining real cool place to go see an old copper mind plenty of different tours you can take

    • @Shorthaul-overhaul
      @Shorthaul-overhaul 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bond falls is very beautiful it's in town called Paulding Michigan also the western part of the porcupine mountains there's a river called the presque Isle River there is up to six or seven falls to check out there and you can walk on them but if you go up there during the longest day of the year like copper harbor or that area the sun sets at 10:00 cuz it's furthest west and North you can be in the Eastern Time zone

    Thanks so much for sharing!!! I LOVE Mackinac Is....I’m curious and can’t help wondering...where you found the natural/bamboo/boho lighting in the center of your main cabin? LOVE THEM!!!

    • @ProjectTrek
      @ProjectTrek  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Pennie, we got the light fixtures and the wicker shades both from Ikea. They are standard residential fixtures, but you can easily wire them for a 12v application like RV lighting by simply removing the ground and using a 12v LED bulb.

    • @ProjectTrek
      @ProjectTrek  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can watch our tutorial on DIY RV 12v Lighting here:
      th-cam.com/video/wJvE7GHKh5Q/w-d-xo.html
      It goes over what I just explained about using residential fixtures and converting them for RV lighting.
      Also, the Ikea fixtures we’re about $15 and the shades were $30, if I’m remembering correctly.
