Feel the fear and do it anyway. This helped me a lot. I love this!

my dad started doing taxidermy as a hobby, and then he got licensed and started doing it as a second job and it got to the point where he was making so much off of it he was able to use just the taxidermy money for groceries and vacations (he'd go on 2 or 3 carribbean cruises a year)... his other job he was a bio med engineer and worked his way to the head of environmental services at the hospital... he's about a year from retirement now and gave his taxidermy business to a buddy of mine and he's got a huge 2 story house with a 2 car 1 motorhome garage and full basement plus a 65 foot houseboat at the marina on our lake all of which are paid off... he's got his house for sale and is looking at buying a diesel pusher so he'll live on the boat during the summer and travel south in the winter in the RV

On the other side of fear, there, you will experience success! The only thing worst than fear is regret.

Great job and inspiration! I know this is geared towards women entrepreneurs but I think this translates to all "would be" starters. Thanks for the inspiration Christy and thank you Dave for all you do. Lifetime fan.

Love this clip. New podcast Oct. 31, 2017, talks about fear again. All the anxiety I suffered from my last college year and four years after. Great stuff. God is AWESOME

I want to be a stay at home dad. Trading places would be beneficial in so many ways.

I don't see why not as long as you are honest with your potential spouse. I see lots of women who spend a great deal of money to develop great careers that they love and make more money than their husbands. I think men are often more organized and sensible about home management and child rearing so they can be exceptionally good home makers. I think the it is sometimes harder for guys to find the support networks that women have but other than that its not a big deal.

Currently my hobby pays for itself, but doesn't pull in much of a profit. I wish I knew how to increase more revenue though.

I think that's where I made my mistake. A online game that became more about the money than the game. And now it's not profitable at all.

      Which game?

You need to find the specific people (your target demo) who want to play your game. There are 7 billion people on this planet. You must know and believe there are hundreds of thousands of people who want to play your game. Do what Christy Wright says and do your research to find them. And also you may need to tweak/perfect your game's graphics and glitches if there are any so the game can be more enjoybale. Then sell ads on the website, to continue playing they need to watch ads, give away free prizes for continuing to play (but they must watch the short ads). It's quite simple. But do your research to find your audience. Best of luck to you!

If a hobby becomes a business, and that business begins to fail at making a profit, is it reasonable to convert that business back into a hobby because it's something you love to do?

Marilyn good idea. People love flea markets but that's just summer time in the northeast, so go for it. Small steps for launch. Good luck.

I agree. If woman are equal to men, why do we need separate accommodation for everything? Turning a hobby into a business is not gender specific. Don't pretend you think I'm equal, and then turn around and act like I can't play with the boys.
