- We played through every WWE 2K MyRise/Career Mode so we could rank every opening/intro/first mission from each one to find the WORST and BEST. So that's WWE 2K15 up until WWE 2K24.

I wish the next My Rise is like the Buzz one. It was fun with lots of twists and turns. Also loved the story with Broken/Woken Matt Hardy.

I'm replaying it right now because you get a great story and you can do an actual career mode section after.
It was too silly
This one is bit too linear imo. I wish they would like HCTP or SvR 07. Basically different storylines at a specific time of the year depending on if you’re the champion, the number contender or in regular feud.
I personally loved 2k22 myrise. It was unlike every other career mode in the past and gave you the options of which stories and shows you wanted to play and go to. It also gave you the option to turn face or heel whenever.

Not going to lie Roman casually handing you the title in Undisputed was my favorite. Just the whole "screw Cody oh and I guess you can, not like I care"
2K19 was SO good. I really don't see why they can't do the "start from the bottom" story in any of their newer games.
Great work. I've always had that extra level of appreciation when there's an entire federation and the pieces to it created just for the stories!

it's a little bit out of context, but nowadays WWE 2K18 is literally unplayable, because once you've finished the main story, you have no more points to spend to upgrade your superstar, that sucks
My favorite My Rise is still 2K22, I came from a MMA background. I loved it.
Fun fact, I won both the 2k18 Corbin match and 19 Stroman match

I really liked 2016 and 2017 for the free form nature of it all, not a big fan of the more linear stories
You should make overall not only introduction
Why is this only the ranking of the introductions? Why not compare the whole modes?
Just trying something different. Grading the entire modes has been done a lot. But grading which has the best and worst intros or openings is something much different.

Better intro. The 2K18 intro was just pure boredom. At least 2K20's was so bad it was hilarious.

There was a lot wrong with 20, and the graphics at least on my computer tended to be headache inducing.

How hardcore of red to give her bullies granny bed sores that is the MOST badass thing ever to say not I'm gonna make you pay ill tell how you cheat during your matches and get you off the team not something like that and how trey is a total simp that needs help from a girl boss only to get set up gee sounds like the most recent Indiana Jones movie honestly no I'm going to let the big bads granny get injured and possibly get an infection bravo well done
I personally didn’t mind the basic starts because it’s a simple RPG career just where you rise up rankings and win titles which tbh is all I need for a career.
I do have to say 2k19 definitely has the best one with a great blend of story and RPG. Definitely great also while I love the intro The Lock and don’t like the intro to The Legacy I personally feel like they swap at the end with Legacy having a great end and Lock having a bad ending
Yeah, wish Slade was the final boss and not Randy. After Shawn is fought off by your manager, have Randy/MVP (depending on ch2 choice) intefere, but Slade refuse to capitalize
@@3verlong It just doesn’t make sense for Randy to be the final boss at all because Slade was part of your story the whole way through and Randy is only part of your story if you choose to be part of his faction, makes sense since if you went with MVP

in 2k19 buzz and cole quin make a podcast and in 2k20 you can listen to it!
in 2k23 you meet slade and gaberiel slade and you get a story line with them!
in 2k24 undisputed becky lynch is world champion but g-g takes it but in unleashed you take g-g's spot!
I kinda wish they had a method to import created characters from previous games to add more content in side stories.

It’s kind of funny how everyone talks about how bad 2k17’s MyCareer was, bc I loved it back then. At that point getting new video games was kind of a rarity for me (was like 13/14 at the time) so when I got one, I played the heck out of it. I hadn’t gotten a WWE game in a few years, so my brother and I played the HECK out of 2k17. I loved being able to become a Paul Heyman guy, even if it led to absolutely nothing. I did really love 2k23’s Lock Introduction, just a shame we couldn’t get the titantron and entrance motions unlocked afterwards. Trying to recreate it in the create-a-video was a massive pain.
I loved 2k17 as well I founded it very fun for some reason

I honestly like how you start in the indies in some of the careers, makes me more invested in the story
I disagree on the ranking of female 2k23, showing Justina at the start, her shining moment, linking it into LJ, how its affected Just, how it and Justina herself tie into the Legacy story, along with the debut flopping at SS. Are all part of the story Legacy tells of how women in WWE have often been ill-treated, misused, overlooked over the decades, along with how having a famous relative hanging over like a shadow, yet the same one who feels her peak was cut short.
Having to look on and see their niece get to do what she couldn't? That's part of what makes Lgacy such a great storyline.
If we were simply told it, or it was shunted to a sidequest later on. It wouldn't have had the same impact I feel.
MyRise especially in recent years are telling pretty set stories with pretty set points that offer illusions of choices that change a line or two at best or show a few different scenes. But still lead to the same twists, turns and railroad the story overall in the direction the developers make it.
I can see both your point and the point of the video, and I think that the context that scene gives is vital. The only thing I don't like is how it leads to a LOOONG unskippable sequence before you can actually see your character. But it's a great story altogether. It even inspires me to think of the closest analogue possible in reality... which was a _fun_ rabbit hole to fall down, because my mind decided that the real Justine would be... Lita. But that makes you wonder, what if LJ was Lita's _kid_ and that would very likely mean that LJ's mom, dad (likely Matt Hardy from the timeline), practically-stepdad 1 (Edge), functionally-stepmom (Beth Phoenix, who oddly enough could fall into this pattern too), Mom's-boyfriend-for-a-time aka practically stepdad 2 (CM Punk, I think that was confirmed Lita and Punk dated at least), and stepmom (Reby Sky) would all be not only wrestlers but most of them are legends. (Also her uncle Jeff.) The point of all of this was, it was _inspiring_ to watch and play that story. My main issue with 2K24's Unleashed is that I have a problem really picturing her career as one that could exist in this reality, though it's not 2K20 bad.
