This is just such a great video mate. I was only 75 kilo and used to box train and Krav Maga. Then covid hit and over 18 months of lockdowns here in Melbourne Australia I plonked on 10 kilo. @@Twobarpsi no haven't for 9 years. Don't smoke either. We had the longest lockdowns in the world here in Melbourne Australia. 6 in total and over 18months. Also we could only go within 5 kilometres and only aloud out for an hour a day. The politician running Victoria Australia is a dictator. If you're thinking of visiting Australia give Melbourne a big miss. Even the police were shooting rubber bullets at people during lockdown and we still have mask mandates here

Hi Tony, I started getting into shape a few years ago - I weighed nearly 18st. I started a 4-day routine, 12-rounds shadow boxing, with 100 press-ups, pull-ups, air squats for Mondays and Thursdays; 5k run on Tuesdays and Fridays. Wednesday was a rest day. Started eating better - stopped the drink (probably the most important dietry thing you can do), and have lost 3st. I'm 50 next year, and feeling good. Still got a bit to go to try and get rid of the excess belly fat, but I'm getting there slowly. Thanks for the great vid, man. Keep up the good work!

Getting started was the hardest part for me. But, for me, once I got going, I never want to stop. I think it has to do with forming habits. They say a habit is formed in a few weeks, or something like that. Same to break a habit, you can break a habit is a few weeks, or so. Months, maybe, but the gist is forming the habit. So the beginning might be the hardest part, but once you get going with a healthier lifestyle, it'll then be hard to break that. Which is a good thing, since this new habit will be beneficial in so many areas, not just physically, but mentally as well. So get started, and once you got the good habits formed, you will thank yourself for doing so. This is my experience. Work out everyday, and it feels just wrong if I miss a workout. I work a 9-5, after work, I'll do different target areas each day. Pull-ups + pushups one day. Next, cardio, so running then heavy bag. Next, arms + shoulders. Next day, abs + heavy bag. Next, back + triceps. Next, running + heavy bag. Repeat. It might not be optimal, but I dropped 20 lbs. Now I just need to eat and sleep better lol, probably what's holding me back. But I feel just forming a decent workout routine has really helped me and I look forward to doing better. You can do it. It's all about getting started.

Same things. Easy 5 mins at first. Now I’m doing interval training for 20 mins on the stair master almost every other day. It’s all about being calculated with your body and easing into it so your body adapts slowly, people under estimate the power of walks for health and mental health, getting the blood flowing creates so much goodness.

Hey Tony, great video. I was a personal trainer and moved into tech a decade or so ago. When I was training I was also taking part in multiple martial arts disciplines, running half marathons and competitive weight lifting. My first job out the gate was with the owners of this fine streaming service where I put on a stone seemingly over night. It's been a decade, as I said, but in the last few years I've managed to get back to a leaner me. I decided that packing on weight in muscle is something I'm happy to leave in my past haha, but having a jawline is a nice feeling again.
I did all that with a routine very similar to what you just posted. Wish I had it 10 years ago :D Great video!! One thing I noticed on the diet section was the coffee with the meal. I gave up chocolate easier than I did the morning coffee at breakfast, but it was probably the single biggest win I had in my lifestyle changes. The caffeine negatively affects the absorption of nutrients, so all the effort you made at making that awesome looking meal is probably 50% down the drain straight away.
Anyways, didn't mean to write as much of an essay but wanted to say how great the content is. I only found the channel recently but I've been making up for lost time in a big way :)

Best non bullshit health advice I've seen just about anywhere. There's alot I could say about my own health issues over my near 7 decades of life, but the only thing I'll add is for everyone who is WAY out of shape is just start moving. Little by little do a bit more everyday. A short walk can work wonders for EVERYTHING. If one can't walk, an exercise bike to start. Or just simple reaching, bending, torso movement for 15 minutes per day to start and build on that. But diet is KEY. More important than anything. Drop the junk, white flour products and start moving. Even just getting in a pool and walking through the water or doing basic movement is very good. And ALWAYS check with your doctor to be sure if it's safe to start exercising. I'm a heart patient but I can still kick it in the ass during my exercise routines. Calisthenics, light weights boxing drills, stretching, 150 sit ups, 60 push ups in 4 sets of 15, that kind of thing.
Anyway, thanks for the advice, "mate". Really great you care about all of us out here in TH-cam land. 🙏👍

This is starting to become ome of my favorite channels. Im telling you if anyone knows the way to lose weight its a professional boxer like Mr Jefferies here. Look at those results he's a professional in and out. Much respect Tony great work. Key takeaway for me was really wanting it. I mean, thats the foundation. If you really want it, you'll get after it. If your 20 percent dedicated, you'll give a 20 percent effort, and weight loss is plain and simple an all in endeavor. I went from 20 percent body fat to 13 in about 3 months, and my goal is 11. Truth be told its not complicated intellectually as much as it is a test of your will. So really wanting it is just foundational to the whole show. What comes after really wanting it is just diet and exercise and with this there are so many options. Do what you enjoy and also try new things that you can learn to enjoy. Results often come before enjoyment anyways. For me, I skipped breakfast and lunch. Hit the gym everyday, Did boxing cardio [heavy bag, LOTS of jump rope, and resistance cardio such as medicine ball and kettle bell. I also do weight training. After the day was done, i had a feast in the evening and a bunch of low calorie protein snacks until i went to bed and the weight came off, the fat came off, and the muscle stayed.

Great video! Proud of you and your wife, you are a great motivator and I can’t wait for the app! I understand what you meant about being embarrassed with the kids around you with no shirt. I’m still trying to drop the pounds but I’ve been working at it for a few months… only thing is I gotta stop drinking, all together!

Just wanted to say thanks for this video. I'm currently recovering from rotator cuff surgery, and thought I'd try to drop a few lbs. in my down time. I started on keto and dropped the booze a couple of days after seeing this video. It's 6 weeks later, and I'm 21lbs lighter. Hoping to drop another 5 or so before the 60 days is up. Thanks for the motivation!

Thanks Tony, love the videos, started watching because I was curious about the finer points of boxing and the beginner tips. Per health success, I do have experience with. I want to preface this with, Im gonna ramble I'm sorry, and that this is something that worked for me. I don't exactly recommend what I did, however I do recommend to find your path because nobody is the same, just find something. One thing I noticed is when I started getting in better shape is #1 Water, drink half your body weight in ounces of water a day. I was 235 lbs so I would take out a little more than a gallon which is more than enough. #2 Diet, get some sort of power greens in your diet. I stuck with Spinach and Chicken with some balsamic vinegar and olive oil. I would indulge in a Mt Dew and a stick of Tillamook beef jerky right after a workout as a kind of reward also almost everytime. #3 Exercise, workout for 1.5 hrs with weights 3 days a week then 1 day a week cardio or plyometrics such as box jumps. Try to get a friend involved and start competing to see who can jump on a higher box or compete in who gets through a course faster. Essentially find something fun that you enjoy to do as exercise, everyone has something, it makes it easier and everything else will eventually come along. #4 Sleep, turning off the TV at night helped me sleep better. #5 Passion, take an interest in what you're trying to do. If you don't know why you're trying to be healthier it's harder to do. Watch videos read books and surround yourself with people who support it. You may not be as close to some friends as you used to be, they aren't friends. You'll gain new and healthy friends. These are things that worked for me and genetically I don't have a good metabolism. I lost 60 lbs in 3 months, gained confidence, friends, girlfriends and I suck at talking to women. I eventually became obsessed and then everything was sooo easy, took about a month for that to happen. Also, I drank alcohol at least 1 day out of the week for a night and I went hard in the paint. I would always have a glass of water with me to dilute the alcohol. I liked to have fun, may as well find a way to combat it. I had a habit of playing pool with friends at a bar so I figured a way to compromise with that. It's honestly surprising how easy it can get when you develop the initial routine.

Great video, I’ve battled weight my whole life. Sometimes with success and some times not. Currently trying to get back in shape. Funny what you said about the diet and exercise….very true I work out hard cardio and weights everyday but let my self down with chest days on the weekend, beer and junk food. I’ll get it straightened out. Thanks for the video

Thanks for the advice and motivation! I already knew all this but I need to get back to it. I still train quite a but, but I've allowed my eating and lack of sleep to get the best of me. I have a very busy life, family, work, training myself and others as well, I need to put a bit of fire back I'm my days.
I came here, as a mixed martial artist, to help get my hands and feet a bit better. I spend so much time, Yeats and years, training ground work, take downs, submission, but I need better hands while on my feet. I have always packed a knockout punch, but it's always luck and timing rather then tactics and standing game. This is a skill i want desperately to add to my toolbox. I've always been a huge fan of boxing, but trainer's are hard to find in my area, and time is another issue in my schedule, so I've started sharpening this at home.
Thanks for the work and help! It really is a great service to us! Learning is a must for anyone, the second you think your done learning, your done period lol.

Invaluable video, Tony. Thanks for posting this. I developed a workout habit, while probably not the most optimal, it's a daily workout regimen. I have a 9-5 job, so evenings is when I workout, going between resistance training and cardio each day. Feels wrong not to work out now lol, I love it. Now, my next challenge is to eat better and sleep better. No fast food, soda, alcohol, but I do indulge in sugar more than I'd like. I mean, it's not as much as I used to, but could do better. Sleep, however, is probably the hardest things for me. Need to break my night routine, create a new one, and sleep better. Thanks for the inspiration, reading might just be the key to unlock this treasure of better sleep, for me. Thanks Tony. Best to you and your family 💪😀👍

Drinking lots of water also helps combating the anxiety of being in a diet. Whenever you feel hungry, just have a zip of water. This has help me a lot.
Also, tracking your fitness activities will help you keep yourself motivated. If you’re no interested in investing on an Apple Watch or Fitbit device, just download a record keeping app such as Streaks where you mark every time you keep your routine (boxing, running, gym, meals, water intake, vitamins, creatine, etc.). It’s such a great feeling to see your streaks increase and it’s also a healthy way to pressure yourself to keep on going.
I love this channel! I can’t stop seeing each and every video. Kudos to Tony Jeffries! I am interested in your app. I’ll keep an eye out for it.

Hell bro. This actually reminds me of a martial arts manga I read. There was this advanced Muay Thai fighter who just had a dad bod because he was in a kickboxing match where it wouldn’t affect his career, so he missed weight, didn’t train, and he didn’t take it seriously. Then he had to be the training partner of the welterweight champion, and he was toned as hell
