“Si Fueras Mía” was composed 10 years ago but hidden in SM song bank till D.O found it. He loves the original Spanish version and decided to record in Spanish. Did u notice it's the same song as another b-side “It’s Love" which is the Korean version ?

Did you know that Kyungsoo's albums, despite their simplicity musically, are among the most wonderful albums artistically? I always say that Kyungsoo's albums are mirrors of his calm, simple and beautiful personality. Dad makes me cry every time I hear it, and I have never stopped listening to it.

D.O vocal is the best
DO heard the original guide for “Si fueras mía” in Spanish and decided to record both the Spanish and the Korean version. The writers credited for the song include to Spanish names. The tittle of the Korean version on this album is listed as “It’s love”. Asa native Spanish speaker I can tell that his pronunciation is excellent.
I didn't notice that at first.... and yes his pronunciation is awesome. I do like the korean version a bit better though.
Some found the album simple compared to his vocal skills. But I think they couldn't see the richness in the album. Kyungsoo actually made his voice stand out more by singing with simple instruments. He didn't let his voice get lost with loud music. And he showed us that the real instrument is his voice. I loved both empathy and expectation. I'm looking forward to his future albums.
I totally agree with what you said about DAD. Even though we don't understand the lyrics of the song, Kyungsoo reflects that emotion in his voice and makes us feel it. Dad is my favorite on the album. And I definitely recommend you listen to the song with lyrics.

Si solo fueras mia It is the Spanish version of It's love .Kyungsoo said that the guide song was in Spanish and that although the Korean version was translated and recorded, he liked the feeling of the song in Spanish and wanted to capture it and share it.His spanish pronunciation is perfect
DAD he dedicated that song to his father because he became a good person and respectful man and he has a good manner as well his dad is still alive this he was talking to his father by thanking him for being a good and well mannered person❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

What a wonderful surprise to see you react to D.O.’s 1st mini album! Absolutely brilliant! I don’t think you realized that ‘It’s Love’ and ‘Si Fueras Mia’ is the same song, but I don’t blame you. Just like ‘Rose’ has different meaning and tone in the korean vs english version, it’s the same for the spanish version vs the the more hopeful korean version. Also, I got chills when you reacted to ‘Dad’, because you analyzed his voice so well. I urge you to do a separate lyrics video reaction. The very first time I listened through the album, I got to ‘Dad’, and then suddenly started crying during the second verse. The emotions in his voice were too powerful, even without knowing the beautiful meaning of the song. And it’s still my favorite. I sometimes wonder how Kai feels about that song, seeing as he lost his father too soon..
I know you’ve reacted to ‘Somebody’ and ‘I Do’ already, but if you get around to doing his 2nd mini album, I hope you’ll include them again to get the full album experience for you and the viewers.

"That's okay" is one of my comfort songs. I cried even though i didn't checked out the lyrics, and i cried harder after checking it. It's a song from SM station ID. It was released before he enlist in the military.

First, thank you for reacting this beautiful album. Second, Si fueras mía and It's love are the same song in different languages. D.O. known as an idol with best pronunciation and when he cover some non-korean songs everyone think that it is for him because the songs fits with his voice. He is also known as prince of R&B. Generally he is such kind of artist that you want to listen him several time.

It was nice to experience Empathy with a fellow D.O. fan.
Its Love and Si Fueras Mia are the same song with lyrics in Korean and Spanish. The Spanish is the original original (not a cover). The lyrics are different and it actually brings a different feel to the song even though musically they’re the same. It’s the same lyrically with Rose,mKorean and English versions, the lyrics are different and do color them differently too…for me the Korean version is more innocent “lovestruck” where the English version is more, as you said, bold.

I'm a Chen and D.O bias. They have very different style. Chen having a strong and powerful voice, but his ballad songs are heaven, while D.O has soul and warm voice, it makes me relax in a way.
Both D.Os album are masterpieces, but i love Empathy more, it's just special to me.

This album is like the music must be... all song are beauty, charming voice and melody. The lyrics are from the hearth, that is why this album and Expectation were perfect. The people feeling near from the voice, melody and lyrics.

I can never be able to choose fav from empathy album istg. All songs are soo beautiful and yes the lyrics of dad is soo emotional ( even tho i dont remember much about my dad. He lives separate ) But i just loves the song and the lyrics are soo beautiful.

Hey Pierre, hope you will check out Chen’s solo music soon. The songs and vocals in his latest album Polaris is quite different than what you’ve heard of him in Exo so I think it’ll be a nice surprise for you to hear his rock side, his Whitney Houston side, and his funky side all in one mini album :). Polaris album has one official mv for the title track Light of my Life. The other tracks have unofficial lyric videos. Hope that helps.

DAD is still my favorite track in Empathy album. We have the same experienced when I listened to it for the first time without the translation. I was bawling my eyes out after hearing DAD. 😩💖

I think one of most appealing things about D.O. and his music is how relatable they are. He’s just a hardworking and sincere guy who just happens to be an amazing idol/artist. You feel every emotion he conveys and it resonates because we’ve all felt those same feelings and had many of the same experiences. Ult bias for a reason.

As you just heard, D.O.'s Empathy album is actually more of an acoustic album with a lot more ballady softer mellow songs. D.O. is known for his R&B vocals, so most assumed we could get an R&B based album for his solo debut. However, he surprised us all by not going R&B right out of the gate. So, we are waiting for him to dig into more of his R&B side with his future solo work.
Fun fact: If you remember, D.O.'s superpower is force, which harnesses the power of earth (dirt) to create super strength. So, in his "Rose" MV we see things exploding or falling down, etc. because he is using his power of force. His blissful love state may be causing him to lose control of his powers. And the "Rose" flower theme could be connected to the flowers within EXO's storyline and/or represent the heart of the Tree of Life.
As mentioned before, other examples of the EXO members using their powers in their solo debut MVs: Baekhyun's debut solo album City Lights and his song "UN Village" talks about his power to control light, Suho's debut solo "Let's Love" MV shows him with his power to control water, and Kai teleports all over in his "Mmmh" MV, and in Xiumin's "Brand New" MV we see him creating snow with his power to control frost. And as the first EXO member to have a solo career, the majority of Lay's solo MVs tie into EXO's storyline as well.
Some people have also pointed out that in D.O.'s MV, there might be nods to the other EXO members as well. Some say, you see the lightning storm, which is Chen's power of thunder/lightning/electricity, the water being sprayed from the broken hydrant could be Suho's power of water, the trash being blown from the garbage truck could be Sehun's power of wind, the exploding lights could be Baekhyun's power of light, the fireworks could be representing Chanyeol's fire power and the blooming flower could be Lay's power of healing because his power is often represented by the growth of plants, etc.

This album is the one you want to listen on a cold rainy day with a cup of coffee or 🍷 😌 Especially because I love the spanish version of the song "Si fueras mía" which he did splendid 👌🥰. No, is not a cover. You can listen him, Baekhyun, Chanyeol (playing acoustic guitar)and Suho singing "Sabor a mí "👏That feeling you mentioned, about beig in a room, alone, he gave it to us with "Somebody" Live Clip.
