  • On Friday, June9, 2023, the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, in collaboration with Clean Harbors Environmental Inc., conducted a cleanup operation at Venice Beach to address the homeless encampment. To ensure safety, sanitation workers wore white hazardous materials suits as part of the protocol. LAHSA (Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority) was also present, offering homeless outreach during the operation.
The motivation behind this operation was the significant health and safety concerns posed to both the unhoused individuals and the general public. Many of the unhoused individuals were using the restrooms as living spaces, necessitating the cleanup.
The cleanup involved two separate waste management teams with different roles working together. The City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, identifiable by their yellow safety vests, and Clean Harbors Environmental Services Inc., identifiable by their orange safety vests. The Clean Harbors team began by sorting through the garbage to identify, collect, and segregate hazardous waste items such as batteries, urine, syringes, and more. Once the hazardous waste was collected, the sanitation workers from Los Angeles Public Works took over to collect the remaining garbage.
In order to ensure the safety of all individuals involved and secure compliance from the unhoused population, Los Angeles Park Rangers maintained a constant presence throughout the duration of the cleanup operation, which aimed to preserve cleanliness and hygiene in the area.
The City of Los Angeles has been actively addressing the homelessness issue, and the Venice Beach cleanup is just one part of their ongoing efforts. It is important to recognize that these cleanups do not offer a solution to the larger issue of homelessness. The City of Los Angeles is actively working on implementing long-term solutions to address the root causes of homelessness and provide necessary resources.
In summary, the cleanup of homeless encampments in Venice is a significant step towards improving public health and safety. It also aims to restore the restrooms to their intended use. The City of Los Angeles remains committed to addressing the homelessness issue in the area and will continue its efforts towards long-term solutions.

The mayor of Coronado in San Diego county does a great job of keeping people from living in public spaces. People live like this in Santa Monica and Los Angeles because they know they can.

DO YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS REALLY GOING HERE?
Look closely at what these homeless have in their possession! You can see that EVERYTHING they have is brand-new. Do you know why the chairs they are sitting on, the tents they are sleeping in, the sleeping bags they have, the very comfortable foam rubber cushions they sleep on, the coolers, the water jugs including the suitcases are all brand-new?!
It’s because Los Angeles has a poverty welfare system of making sure that each and every homeless gets between $500 and $800 CASH per month including food stamps, free medical, free psychological counseling and anything else they need.
And did you notice how ALL of the freeloader vagrants (or whatever you wish to call them) living in camps on the beach sand were NOT upset or aggravated about having their nice new camping stuff thrown in the trash can by the city Sanitation Department?

And can you guess where most of those freeloaders vagrants (or whatever you prefer to call them) are doing right now after they just had their recently purchased items (mentioned above) thrown in the dumpster by the city sanitation department? They are walking over to the nearest ATM machine, withdrawing hundreds of dollars that taxpayers gave them and then are heading to the exact same stores they purchase their stuff from last week and repurchasing the same stuff again.
And then, beginning the very next morning, they will move back onto Venice Beach sand and set up their temporary camp all over again. And this cycle keeps repeating hundreds of times per year for each of those freeloaders vagrants (or whatever you wish to call them) with absolutely no end in sight.
So that also means each and every one of them have absolutely no incentive or reason to get serious and focused on learning to work to pay their way.
Also, during the last 20 years and probably longer than that, the Los Angeles city good-hearted city officials with blank checks from Los Angeles and Venice taxpayers have tried hundreds of different times simply providing Venice and Santa Monica beach area freeloaders, vagrants and mental cases with free apartments, free cell phones and service, free furniture including a brand-new TV set (with remote control, of course), a very generous amount of food stamps per month and some extra spending cash.
And do you know what the vast majority of them did eventually do? They simply left the apartment and moved back onto either Venice or Santa Monica beach because that’s where they want to live. They DON’T want to live in a normal society of apartments and neighbors and traffic. They just want to do what they want to do and when they want to do it and where they want to do it and there is absolutely NOTHING can be done to fix that problem.
And YES I know exactly what I'm talking about. And if you don't believe it then research it for yourself.
And, if you haven't yet figured it out, this problem will NEVER be resolved and will just keep getting worse and worse no matter how much money, care and love you throw at it !

We visited here last summer and were shocked at the blatant drug dealing right in front of us while we were trying to have a great day and a meal. You just can't defund the police department and think that it's going to be ok! No means No! Nobody wants to be the den mother, but it HAS to be done! Not saying no is saying yes! Better living through irritation. Irritate them enough and they will go else ware.

The only decent towns in LA County are off the 210 from La Canada/Flintridge all the way to San Dimas, the towns by Magic Mountain off the north 5 (Newhall, Valencia, Santa Clarita, Castaic, eg) and of course the ones in the mountains (Big Bear, eg).

Comme c'est cruel de pourchasser des SDF de leurs campements sans savoir où aller dans ce monde impitoyable même dans les coins inhospitaliers les plus reculés tels la jungle ou les lieux désertiques de la Californie.

Omg again and again this homeless issues along the beach it’s not a camp ground most of these people with the mental disorders need to be in a mental hospital with proper care so there off the streets the this an endless cycle it seems in California that older gentleman should be in a retirement home.

Why dont they just gather up all the homeless ppl ONTO Venice Beach. Then have the cops throw full bottles of Mad Dog 20/20, or Night Train out into the Rip Tides?
Do that for about 3 weeks....
    no more homeless problem. ...😆
Then we just wait for The Democrats to give us MORE homeless! The Dems are REAL GOOD at that!

This is the road of society, government imposed taxes and eliminating fossil fuels will make all of us homeless.
