If you do manage to get stuck with a long duration Levitation effect, have a Dispel 100% on Self spell handy, it can be used to end it.
Couldn't you also take a cheap potion with a much lesser levitation effect that would overwrite it and then wear off? I forget if that works or not in MW.
Hey JustRed, you can get a full grandmasters alchemy set relatively easy, go to Dragon Fel, than head southwest to Valenvaryon (its a dwemer ruin, google a full map of morrowind), there will be some relatively tough orcs there, great gear for heavy armor/wepons guys, try to take the orcs one on one, after you kill them all go in the biggest building, there will be a grandmaster alchemist and a gm set! just make her turn around, save and steal!

I would also suggest using bloat and ash yams for fortify intelligence potions. Take the potion and make another. Eventually you'll get a fortify intelligence by a couple thousand. It's helpful and easy way to make money and level up

You should seriously come back and do a long lets play series of morrowind. I would kill to see a new morrowind LP series from you, because you know so much about the game. If you did a LP, we could learn loads of new things just by watching you play and listening to your commentary.
Skooma pipes can be used as alchemical apparatus, not sure how they affect the result of the potions though...

*Drops down 50 feet* *Insert Peter Griffin laugh* "Your acrobatics skill increased to 56", and somehow you managed to not break your ankles. Btw, if your intelligence is 22,873 and luck 9,817, you can mass produce potions that are worth 5,010 gold and then you turn around and sell it to Dobby in Caldera.
I don't consider this an exploit myself but some players do so Spoiler Alert. See below:
The alchemy vendor in the Balmora Temple sells wickwheat and marshmarrow to make healing potions and will restock every time you exit the trade menu. If you sell the wickwheat and marshmarrow back to the vendor and exit the trade menu when you go back in he will now have twice as many of each ingredients and will always have twice as many. Repeat this until the vendor has a hundred or so of each and you can save yourself a lot of clicks to stock up for crafting sessions.
Alchemy always seems so useful, but I can never be bothered. Whether in this, Oblivion, OR Skyrim, Running about, picking flowers, lugging around and sorting through dozens and dozens of ingredients.... it's all so very tedious. Every time I play Skyrim, I buy the alchemy table in the Whiterun home, because it's got the pouch right there, and make an effort to put my ingredients there. Never works out, though. They just sit all game, till I stop even trying. Even my poison-based assassin didn't.

Alchemy is RIDICILOUSLY OP in Morrowind. But, you have to achieve such height in these skills
EDIT: I 've been reading on the UESP wiki about alchemy moments before, and there is a alchemy set better than Grandmaster. It's the Secret Master set. Unfortunately, they can only be acquired by the console.

fortify skill spells are only available with the expansions, the fortify alchemy skill I used there, was bought from 'Bronrod the Roarer' in the skaal village (bloodmoon expansion). I'd check the wiki for the other spells, as they're all over the place lol
Tip for anyone who wants to be super fast. Don't raise your speed above 800, it gets tricky to navigate in cities, not even mentioning indoors. Also running (walking is fine) up the stairs (and slopes in vivec) and sometimes against walls can push you inside the buildings. This however doesn't happen on world's mountains so feel free to fast travel with 10k speed.
I did this for levitation potions to travel REALLY fast. unfortunately it lasts so long you have to sleep in a bed for a week to get rid of the effect. Also light potions with this are cool; day from night! Also have to sleep for weeks to get rid of it though...

You mention about increasing strength, I think it is better to increase the range and length of Feather instead. If your strength is too high, you can only use your weapon once and then you need to repaid it (of course I killed Vivec with one blow) or else you fight only with your fists.
I tend to avoid Alchemy. It is quite overpowered.

Please give me some tips here. Every time I try and make a potion, it tells me that "you need to write your name" and won't let me make a potion, even when there's text in the description bar for the potion. And, on the rare occasions where that prompt doesn't disrupt the process, the potion itself doesn't work anyway. Is this just something I have to deal with in the early stages of alchemy?
aah, that's a really weird bug you have there, with the weirdest fix ever. For me, I had to throw my mortar & pestle in a fit of rage...no really, that's the fix lol. Drop it on the floor, and pick it back up.
It was years ago I got this problem, but I'm sure that's all I did. I'm assuming, this is fixed with the Code Patch (haven't checked though) as I haven't had this bug for....literally years.
As for the fails, it happens at low levels. What I do when I start alchemy, is find a vendor with loads of ingredients to make loads of crap potions, and make like 100 in one go. (nice cheap stuff) sell the potions or bin afterwards. Do that to get alchemy to level...ooooh I'd say about lvl30, and the fail rate will start dropping fast. It becomes a surprise when you fail a potion at higher levels lol

Second question: how do you use poisons like Drain Health or Magicka against enemies? Do you have to equip them or is there a way to poison your weapon with them?

Ugh, I was afraid of that, learning I've been carrying around 5+ Drain Magicka potions for nothing.
So if you used a super potion to fortify acrobatics, does that mean you could jump to insanely high altitudes? :)
Yep! during you main mission you can find someone falling from the sky and dying. If you check his body you can find some scrolls that insanely fortify acrobatics for 1 or 2 seconds but for few seconds, so you can jump very very high and if you don't use another scroll or the effect wears off before you touch the ground you are dead.
So if you can create a potion like that, yes you can go insanely high but it is not recommended, it can take you seconds or even minutes to lend back on the ground.
ElGroggy That's actually an easter egg outside of Seyda Neen when you go out to West Gash I think, you find a wood elf falling from the sky and dying on his journal. He made 3 Scrolls Of Icarian Flight which boost your acrobatics by a 1000(holy shit) for 7 sec. 7 sec? The time to get to the max height with one jump is like 15, yea, you die, unless you cast another one so you survive the fall, maybe.
+Mrnja Prnja I always see people suggestion to cast another scroll, but that seems like such a waste to me.
Read the scroll, jump and before you land, take a levitation or slowfall potion. That way you can utilise all three jumps and not just one...
Good idea, although you need to time it if you don't wanna fall for decades XD
I know this is old but if you enchant something with even a single point of slowfall, you are alredy immune to fall damage.
