Thanks again for letting me experience the Big E Fair once again. Before a serious car accident in 2019, I went to this fair ever year. You brought back some great memories and added some new ones. That Wild Mouse Dark Ride looked fun would have put me in the Hospital (severe back issues). You made me hungry with your New England Sea Food dishes!
OMG....you went to the big E. We went every year from here in New York as it was just across the state line for us. Went for about 50+ years until medical issues have arisen for me. No longer possible so I will see it through your video. Thank you for sharing. Tearing up as I never thought I would see it again. ❤
That handwriting analysis booth has not changed since at least 1970-as a kid I always got that done and I'm 63! (I live just over the bridge in Agawam so I've been to the Big E too many times to count!). Fun fact: the state buildings are replicas of each New England state’s original statehouse sitting on land actually owned by each respective state.
Jacob! I have no idea how I stumbled across your channel but it’s been the happiest couple of weeks I’ve had binging yours (and Jenn’s! ☺️) adventures. You are living the life so many of us oldies wish we could and I love watching through a big kids eyes! Thank you for sharing your life with us! ❤
Thank you Jacob. Born in 1945 and used go to exposition every year in the 50s and early 60s. Have moved away but miss the fair. It was always a great fair. Thanks again
Thanks so much for this. I went on the first Wednesday this year, which might be the day you went too---the crowds look very manageable, as they were when I was there. I knew other people who went on later days, and it was epically packed with folks. Made it very hard for them to deal with. I'm so glad I went early on. The great thing is, you personally went all over and I get to see all sorts of things we didn't get to, as we are older and get so tired with walking. Each year we see new things we didn't get to the previous year, and revisit favorites. You gave me ideas for next year!
We went to the Big E a few years ago it was amazing!! We had the best time!! Thanks for the laughs on the wild mouse ride...I was hysterical!!! Thanks for the video my friend!!!!
I'm so happy that You went to the Big E 🎉 It looked huge 🤩 I really like the reconstructed New England village 🏘️⛪💗 I always love the exhibits at the fair too ❣️ I will have to visit myself one day 🤞 Good timing for leaf peeping too🍂🍁🌟 As always, Thank You for bringing Us along Jacob 🙏💝😻
This was awesome. I think I might have to plan a trip up there one year because this was probably one of the nicest and most interesting state fairs out there. So much history in New England and I could spend all day in the village portion.
@boogiedaddy3434 - We go to the Big E every year. Love the village, too. Less than an hour from West Springfield is Old Sturbridge Village . From their website - "Old Sturbridge Village, the largest outdoor history museum in the Northeast, depicts a rural New England town of the early 19th century. The Village is designed to approximate the look and feel of a historic landscape and includes more than 40 historic buildings, such as houses, working farms, meetinghouses, a district school, country store, water-powered mills, professional and trade shops - all situated along the Quinebaug River on the homeland of the Nipmuc peoples."
@MichaeldeFilippi - Attendance records were insane this year! Did you go on the weekend??🤪 I was there the same day Jacob was. Crowds very manageable that day.😊
It’s really good to see Hilby the skinny German juggling boy still going the act. I saw him maybe 12-13 years ago at the New Jersey state fair. Love the state fair videos. They are my favorite.
BEST BIG E experience video! Thank You, Thank You Thank You Carpetbagger! Going for my second time this weekend. Really enjoy seeing your experience and things I can add to my game plan ( the big E is one of the most difficult ventures to plan for because most media only focuses on the crazy foods)😂 Now it feel like I have a little preview and see a few shopping/ attraction must haves I can go directly for rather than making my boyfriend chase me around in circles for over 9 miles again this year.😅
My son and son in law and a bear friends were there yesterday. They spotted you but you walked by going the opposite direction too quickly. They don't really watch your channel but I do and I told them to look out for you.
So glad you had a great time at the Big E Jacob! I’ll have to check out that Mouse Trap ride on Saturday. I’m 6’2 and hope I don’t scrape the ceiling! Safe travels!
If you want to up the count of State Fairs Connecticut has the Durham Fair, I’m from Springfield and an interesting fact is this is where I met the Drummer from the popular 2000’s band Staind before they became well known. I used to get in for free because my best friends father used to work there every year.
I am so glad you made it to the Big E, so many great things to see! Maybe I will go there next year it, it has been many years since I have been there. 🙂 One of the biggest draws are always the little chicks being born. It has been so fun to watch you going through the Big E.
Born and raised in Massachusetts and never even heard of the Big E 😂😂 Now when I visit I'll have to time my visit during the State Fair!!! Loved this video cause I'm from there so thank you for visiting Jacob!!!
What a GREAT State Fair Celebration 🎇🎉!!! Wild Mouse Dark Ride was hilarious,n live the animals n historical exhibits!!! Wonderful job, Carpetbagger n Congratulations for knocking out 5 at a throw in the State Fair Attendance Record Game!!!
One of the TH-camrs I follows wears a bear bell when he goes exploring in Japan to scare off the bears and boars. I'm sure you can understand why they run away from it. Lol Love the awesome contraption with the bells that the gentlemen was using to play epic-sounding music on. I saw him in another video of yours doing the same thing and I loved it! ♥
I was just there with my girlfriend and her parents last week. I always love going to the Big E around this time of year there's so much cool stuff there.
My daughter and I love watching your fair videos. We were really hoping you would be coming to the Big E. We are sad that we didn't get to see you. We unfortunately couldn't make the Big E this year.
Oh man, do I ever miss lobster rolls. I am envious. This was so much fun. I buy only real maple syrup now because it is worth the extra cost. You are the best customer they have ever had on The Great Monster Ride. That was intense. Thanks again.
Yay! Your back at my city!! Loved the one with the dinosaur that popped out..Holyoke mass is a city next to us(springfield) about half hr way depending how far in your going.. ( my dad's side is from out there so I visit when able) but now I'm gonna look into that so I can go!
Ah! I was hoping you were going to go inside the Grange Building! I am a member of the Grange in NYS. Its a beautiful building. There are representatives from each State Grange there daily to answer questions. There's also displays inside. Its been quite a few years since I was last at the Big E. Thanks for taking us along!
@archerroy21 - I was at the Big E the same day he was, and I did go in to the Grange Building, as we do every year. Apparently I did not win the beautiful quilt, but it looks like they were making a lot of money for the Veteran's. 😊
@@SharonPerson-hm9ds Yes the quilt is always popular. I hope you were able to talk with some of the Grange State Presidents while you were there and walk around the building. Thanks for sharing!
My wife and I get season passes each year. I wish I had known you were there -- I would have enjoyed meeting you. I've been going to the Big E since I was a child. The fair has changed a lot. It used to be primarily an agricultural fair (as most were). It eventually morphed into something more akin to a flea market with vendors everywhere. Now the focus is mostly on food. Any type of food you can imagine (and many you can't) can be found there now including the "Flatliner burger" and fried butter. The state buildings, BTW, are replicas of each state's actual state building.
I loved the Great Monster Ride.😲😳😱😂😂 Best scare scream ever!! Love all the state fairs and other videos you do. Thanks for all the videos. I can't get out and do stuff anymore because of bad health issues. So I look forward every time to each new video. Thanks Jacob. 🎉❤
You are making me miss New England. We visited my husband's family in PA, CT, and NH, with a day trip into VT, a year ago. We did see the Joe Palooka memorial in PA, as seen in your last video. And now you are at the Big E, which my husband's aunt (from CT) mentioned she was going to last week. I always thought New England was a town or something, until last year when my husband told me it was the collective name for those 6 states you mentioned. 😆
So close and yet so far!! Not sure if you're still in MA, but if you are, I believe the Factory of Terror here in Fall River is open weekend nights until Halloween. I went to the Big E when I was younger, it was where my family would go to each year after the Danbury Fair closed down. I hadn't been in so long, and it seems so much has changed. The midway especially changed, gone are the Cake Walk and the haunted house dark ride where there was a witch that turned left and right (where I'd wait for my parents to ride it, as I was too chicken to back then), the magic carpet fun house and the jungle fun house with the big gorilla. So many memories.

Oh I was there with a few of my friends the same day but we saw the circus there and saw one of the bands play but didn't see any of the things that you saw. Sorry we missed you there.
@The Carpetbagger Hey Jacob, you should come up to the Deerfield Fair in Deerfield New Hampshire, it's happening all weekend long. Very popular fair here in NH. You'd love it. Maybe take a trip up to the White Mountains of NH for some great fall colors.

My friend rode it when we were younger and there used to be a scary face that lit up around every corner. When I rode it half the stuff was broken but there was compressed air - I’m sorry that part wasn’t working this year! And we love the demon gorilla at the end.

I love the fact that you were part of the clean shell club. 😆.
Nice to see Hilby the German Juggler. He has performed at County Fairs for years. Good Juggler, nice guy.

Glad you made it this year. I usually go the last Wednesday, but went the day before, missed you by a day. Been going to the Big E since 1990.
Jacob rang that bell for an uncomfortably long time 👏😎
Ya Jacob you made it to the Big E. I’ve been going since I was a child. Love it.
literally going today!!! :O I go with my dad almost every year.
