Lovebites are one of those rare phenomenon bands whose music grows on you. Some folks may not be impressed with a first time listening but often it’s because they selected a Lovebites song that is too heavy or too slow. But when they give them a second and third listen, they rapidly become Wolfpack members. Lovebites are out of hiatus and they’re coming back with a bang with their new release and new bassist (Fami), Judgement Day. Long live Lovebites!❤

LOVEBITES - Edge Of The World lyrics: Why do we learn to hate, deceive and lie, hurt each other? Why does it never end? The sorrow keeps on repeating Wailing, come downpours of the rain Will it end? No one ever knows Wondering, what only time can tell What is at the end of life? Why do we only see our own desires? Greed is endless Why is there authority when there is no justice in their rulings Struggling like feeble, helpless fools Will it end? No one ever knows Wandering, not knowing where to go Carrying the breath of life SOLO: miyako Standing at… The Edge of the World SOLO: midori / both / midori As long as you're still alive, remember - don't fear standing up, don't ever give it up Until the day you meet your end, it's not over - let your soul shine inside of your heart SOLO: midori As long as you're still alive, remember - keep your dignity, stay true to who you are Until the day you meet your end, it's not over - let your heart love and always be loved SOLO: midori How you live will always live on As your way of life, forever How you live will always live on As your way of life, forever How you live will always live on As your way of life, forever SOLO: both ----- lyrics: asami music: Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) from Awakening From Abyss 2017
I love Edge of the World. Always have. Love the progression, the technicality, the epicness for the lack of a better word, how it showcases Asami's singing ... We the United is also fun song, but it does have some flaws. I feel it's enhanced when performed live though, because it's just really impressive to see. And the lyrics feel a bit ironic now, though at least the band is complete again thanks to Fami.
actually the lead vocalist asami spent 2 years in the states and learned the language well. she writes most of the lyrics for the band and they are written in english. so she is really not doing it phonetically - her japanese accent is quite noticeable though so the words do sound a bit different on occasion
@@DMGJP well the cd jackets must be incorrect then - because i have both cd's and both songs are listed as " lyrics by asami" the songs written by miho say " music and lyrics by miho " so those were obviously translated by asami. you will see in my original comment i said 'most' - not all
Well done, good reaction. These two songs embody the message that Lovebites stands for - being positive and uplifting no matter what. I was a little surprised you did not pause between songs to make final comments regarding the first one. Now do a reaction to their newest music video with their new bass player, the 20yo phenom, Fami. The song is "Judgement Day" which was just released on Dec 23.
thank you for coming back to Lovebites. You picked two of their biggest songs here. They used to end their concerts with these. In case you didn't follow the news, they were on hiatus for a year and a half, and have returned with their new bassist Fami. Check out "Judgement Day".
Thanks for the mention. Good as this is I think the 2020 Five of a Kind tour version is even better of these 2 sublime songs - could watch them all day long. 🤘🤘
Alot of people dump on Asami for her pronounciation but that's really only because her accent is comparatively thick compared to what a natural english speaker associates aurally.. her spoken English is in fact near-fluent and she is the main lyrical composer for the band. Its easy to forget just how alien the English language is for a native Japanese, as some of our sounds like R and L don't even exist in their language. She is getting better and better and her diction is improving all the time. As she sings herself, "there is no need to be perfect". Thanks for the reaction!
I wonder how an American English speaker sounds to them speaking Japanese. Or a Brit. Thick accent? I don't know but she enunciates English better than many English first language speaking vocalists do, imo. And forget growlers. I'm really just thankful that Asami sings English period.
@@daveminers3404 right? It’s the most counter-intuitive argument I ever hear. Mayu and Saiki get a ton of praise all the time and they sing almost exclusively in Japanese but Asami gets called out because “we can’t make out what she’s saying”. Same with Floor Jansen and a few others I could name. I’m yet to think of any song by any artist where I can pick out all the lyrics first time, but for some reason Asami gets singled out by almost every reactor I’ve ever seen. It’s a tired argument that makes no sense. I’m not saying it about these guys (though they’ve done enough Lovebites by now to know Asami is definitely not singing phonetically), it’s more of a general observation.
@@joelb4530 TBH, Joel, the first time I heard Lovebites I didn't care for Asami's vocals (the song was "Holy War") and I steered clear for a while. I was pretty happy with Band-Maid and Nemophila. Eventually I checked Lovebites out again after seeing all the praise in comments and the song was "Raise Some Hell". So glad I did. Now, I love Asami as a frontperson. My point is, for some, Asami's vocals are an acquired taste, as they were for me. I find her vocals in "Judgement Day" to be her best yet. However, some people just aren't going to "get it". Hopefully, some of them will come around as I did.
@@daveminers3404 Very similar to me, I didn’t take to her naturally at first either but when it clicked for me, there was no turning back. I think her overall contribution is underestimated too but that’s more than likely a side effect of the sheer musicianship that’s on display. I’m more of a straight up metal head to be fair my top 3 would be Lovebites Nemophila and Hanabie.. Band-Maid are astounding musicians but their music just doesn’t quite resonate with me overall. I think my main gripe is just that pattern… Saiki sings in Japanese: wow that was amazing! Asami sings in English: ummm I didn’t understand her.. 🤷♂️ I would never demean any other band or musician it’s just come on, give the woman a break lol
Asami can speak English perfectly. The problem is her pronunciation when she sings, she can try to sing with better English, but maybe her vocal quality is not the same. In my opinion, he prioritizes his voice over his pronunciation. She is a singer, I think that sounding good is what matters. Another case is Floor from Nightwish, she doesn't have the best English when she sings either, but is it a problem?
Lovebites play metal music but in a bright atmosphere, lyrically and appearance to good and beauty. Not traditionally dark, black evil ish gothic style. That's their brave opposite method. To me, Asami (vocal) pronunciation is better than some metal just growl or rappers that use weird words. Thanks for reaction guys, react more to them and get amazed.👍👍🤘🤘
Helloooo.Song "Rising" has a powerful message, song "Epilogue" is a masterpiece,a work of art, songs "Awakening, the hammer of wrath" and "Raise some hell" are two powerful heavy metal songs.Songs " Spellbound" and "Dancing with the devil" are something else different and at the same time spectacular
Most Japanese people struggle to pronounce the letter L and the sound TH without a lot of training in English. Other than that her pronunciation was much clearer in this video than most of their others.
Another song with a similar title that you may like is : Black Sabbath, Falling off the edge of the world. Message heavy and a really great song. This is Dio era Sabbath at it's very best
For me it doesn't metter I am not native English Asami's English is simply English I don't feel varieties in prononciation I rather focus on the music and transfer of the lirycs. 50% of listeneres are beyond the anglosas zone.😎🎤⭐️🥁🎸🎸🎸🐺🤘
What a fantastic way to closeout a show....love these ladies!! Cheers for a happy, and healthy 2023!

LOVEBITES - We The United lyrics:
The silent dawn has been broken
Our fate has now been decided for good
Innocence can never be regained
Blissful ignorance turns into guilt and shame
We must first learn to give and understand
That no one is able to live alone
There is no need to be perfect
Everyone has their own problems and faults
Everything is indispensable,
Every person is worthy and valuable
Don’t give up on your life, fight for what’s right
Live on and keep searching for answers
We shall go forth
Prideful, we stand united
We can create miracles
Always, there is a way
SOLO: both
Humans are greedy and selfish
Wanting attention more than the respect
Recognize the pain that others hide
Have the strength to fight even for someone else
People who’ve never made real enemies
Have never stood up for what they believe
We shall go forth
Prideful, we stand united
We can create miracles
Always, there is a way
Always, I will be here
Always, we will be there
