I love these old favorites!! You know , 50 years ago, you could pick up small plants in 2 inch pots at every nursery and even the grocery stores!! Very popular!!! Now they are very rare to find!! Back then I never saw oreocereus or espostoa, just cephalocereus, the Mexican old man! They seem very rare to find now! I think you are very lucky to have such a nice plant!!! It's funny, I bought mine when I was in my mid 20s also! Bought it at lake of the Ozarks in a florest. It was a feel good plant. I had just got dental work done, was feeling not so good and saw the florist . And as I walked in u spotted this foot tall plant!! Felt a lot better!!! Hahaha! It's now about 20 inches tall. Mine has reddish brown hair on the oldest part of the plant because of mineral contents in the well water come out in the hair, kinda rusty. The top 3rd is white. If you ever see another, buy it !!! I know if I ever see another I will ! I haven't seen one except a large one about 3 feet tallat Drummonds a few years ago. It was completely rusty. Looks like they have red hair!!! Thanks for sharing Lyn!!! Beautiful!!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, to across the emerald isle, have a wonderful weekend ahead!!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!✌️💖🌵🌿🌷🌻🪴🌹🌴🌱🌾💐🍀🏜😃👍

I love, love, love Einstein 😍😍 Wish I had known all this information before I bought my first one - rotted 😢 But I love them so much that when I saw one in our big box store here a couple of months ago I grabbed it. I’m so glad I saw this video, I now know to hold back on the watering 😬😬 I won’t be around when it gets much bigger or see any flowers so I will have to put it in my will 😂😂 Lots of love 🥰🤗🥰🇳🇿🇳🇿 First job in the morning shift it to more sun 👍
Ooh, I've had mine for 32 years haha! Yours is much hairier than mine though, mine is taller and the spines are really pokey lol, in fact I still have him at my parents' place and my mother banned him from the house because he is so tall and spiky, so he's lived in an unheated greenhouse for like 20 years, some of those winters were harsh. Mine also only gets watered from like middle May to early October and then not a drop for the rest of the year. I give him a feed in Spring. And probably water him like once a month at most from June onwards. Mine's also never had any pests, the only slight thing is snails hibernate over winter under the hairs, but every spring I give him a good brush with a baby hair brush 🌵💚🤍💚🤍
Wow, Einstein is a stunner, such a cool name too. I haven't been as clever naming mine, he's called Shaggy which is the first name that came into my head 🤣🤣He's only 9 years old, so still quite small compared to Einstein.
Lovely cactus ❤
All your plants love your care and respond in like. ❤
E=MC² Thanks for sharing Lyn 🌵💚
