Been loving the heck out of Critical Mode since I'm forced to be more careful. Gotta balance both) and I've learnt the enemy attack patterns better to figure out the block timing better. I love the doll boss in the toy scenario. They focused on making a pretty doll that I never felt was creepy even when it was possessed, like a child's analysis of the 60s Godzilla movie with the "I'm sorry, I didn't know, it's not my fault and I don't know what I did wrong" with the attack patterns, the movements, the aura and other elements that are supposed to make you feel bad for her, and I did.
It's weird. On one hand, I did enjoy the added difficulty and clutch moments are really satisfying. On the other hand, I don't like the fact that you can get one shotted. This does add difficulty but having the choice of enemies do barely any damage or getting one shotted is dumb. I enjoyed critical mode but more for playing KH3 again rather than the mode.
The fact that it tried to cater to brand new players to the series while still leaving crap up in the air if you didn’t play khux was by far the stupidest thing they could have done with this game. Couldn’t tell you how annoyed I kept getting with Donald and Goofy’s comments left and right about keeping world order and how Sora is an unreliable idiot or how nothing Sora ever comments on could possibly be true even after everything they’ve been through like there’s no such thing as a talking snowman but walking talking skeletons or bathtub are perfectly normal and reasonable. Unfortunately KH3 suffered from the same issues as the other major hits that came out recently seem to suffer from. Long wait with not a great pay off for and can be described as an overall disappointment.
I’m really glad this video exists. I only recently picked up kingdom hearts as a franchise and after making my way through the endless series of games I hadn’t even realized critical mode wasn’t a thing at launch for kh3. Once I picked up the game I immediately started on critical and while I died A LOT (which I thought was just me but seems to be everyone) I thought the combat was incredibly well designed. Fast forward to beating the game I look at reviews saying the combat sucked and i couldn’t figure out why. Now it all makes sense
There's a PC mod that gives you Second Chance and Once More at the beginning of a critical mode playthrough and it really helps a lot in smoothing out the beginning hours
Critical mode is beautiful for kh3 because it feels like the normal kingdom hearts I played it at the start of the week finished at the end of a week for oblivion it challenges u to know the old game and health and some were very easy cause u knew the bosses attacks
44:50 for some reason, seeing that animation of Xehanort grabbing Sora by the face while Sora struggles frantically to make him let go, is rlly upsetting to watch unfold :(
First play through in kh1 for me was standard. Then my first play through in kh2 was critical mode. And now I'm playing kh3 in critical mode my first time through. I'm having a lot of fun and I'm not finding it far too difficult but rather challenging.
30:32 When I do Crit for the Keyblade, I am SO doing the "Autofire all Night" XP farm here. Assuming that I didn't need to farm to 99 just to GET this far... Which I might. I am not a tryhard. I wouldn't even be CONSIDERING it if it wasn't for Oblivion. ...and then doing a Casual run to take into ReMind, because there is NO WAY I am taking on the DLC Boss on anything harder than a wet noodle.
Buns has to have the strongest voice ever, to be able to scream that much and that often and still retain it throughout 24 hours? Buns have you done choir?
Critical Converter turns off attractions, but in exchange, whenever you WOULD get an attraction, you instead get a formchange command instantly. You need 1 AP to equip it for this reason. And don't be afraid to use Rage mode. Remember, it fully restores your health, and if you're willing to take the risk, it can do a lot of damage. It doesn't hurt to have Kupo Coins either, though remember that they are moderately expensive, and you can only hold 1 at a time. Links also only heal half health instead of being a full heal, and remember that they aren't usable during fights where you aren't controlling Sora.

Buns "come here handsome"
Me "no, that's mansex"
Getting one shotted by Darkside made me smile in the most masochistic way.
Thinking "finally".
I usually never use magic in a KH game so I guess critical mode's magic nerf doesn't really affect me.
Kingdom Hearts 3 for me, changed from a minor disappointment to a masterpiece when critical came out.
@True Roman Don't worry, they're all just probably dead or something.
@@AL-lz6px *Don't worry*

Cause of Death: Rocks and Gravity
You know what's weird? When Sora dies on the Monster Inc stage, you don't see a heart floating over his body. I wonder why that is.
I'm still stuck on defeating the last 3 org. Members. This mode be hard and it requires me to think strategy which is great.
What makes sense :0
You just say the word “running to the Roxas fight” and I get ptsd flashbacks.
Also here’s my list of favorite KH Games That I’ve played.

44:12 Bare witness, as Xehanort becomes victim to the Sora Ora-barrage
There's a PC mod that gives you Second Chance and Once More at the beginning of a critical mode playthrough and it really helps a lot in smoothing out the beginning hours
I love this, critical mode looks like I am going to be speaking in tongues right at the Darkside tutorial.
13:44 seems like butterbuns was happy to have found some nice spots for ingredients...
I have one MAJOR complaint over critical mode: OUR STARTING HP AND MP SHOULD NOT BE HALVED! GIVE US OUR FULL STARTING VALUE!
Critical mode is beautiful for kh3 because it feels like the normal kingdom hearts
I played it at the start of the week finished at the end of a week for oblivion it challenges u to know the old game and health and some were very easy cause u knew the bosses attacks
44:50 for some reason, seeing that animation of Xehanort grabbing Sora by the face while Sora struggles frantically to make him let go, is rlly upsetting to watch unfold :(
My favorite thing about this video is Donald being yelled at like he’s the screw-up intern. 😂
4:02 - 4:14 OMG YAAAAS BUNS! PREACH!
Ah the classic yelling at Donald in a kingdom hearts game for him to heal you
Sora: Donald, I need healing!
Goofy: 1 hp off of max
Donald: * incoherent duck noises *
I can't believe that some of Alice's rants on the Met Gala got in. This is the quality content I singed in for
I'm on Corona. I forgot the Kupo Coin existed.
I also never really got into eating from the Bistro, so... This experience is a thing.
First play through in kh1 for me was standard. Then my first play through in kh2 was critical mode. And now I'm playing kh3 in critical mode my first time through. I'm having a lot of fun and I'm not finding it far too difficult but rather challenging.
WoooHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
*Butter then dies from a bloated frog*
Editing in: Did Xehanort just reimagine sonic's death scene from Sonic 06 >_>
30:32 When I do Crit for the Keyblade, I am SO doing the "Autofire all Night" XP farm here. Assuming that I didn't need to farm to 99 just to GET this far... Which I might. I am not a tryhard. I wouldn't even be CONSIDERING it if it wasn't for Oblivion. ...and then doing a Casual run to take into ReMind, because there is NO WAY I am taking on the DLC Boss on anything harder than a wet noodle.

I hate how they just look around like they're just trying to act the fool. Good thing I got Ultima for my critical mode plus
I think "Oh for fuck's sake, this STUPID fish!!" Is now my favorite line ever.
Buns has to have the strongest voice ever, to be able to scream that much and that often and still retain it throughout 24 hours? Buns have you done choir?
Thank you for putting this up. It's awesome.
EDIT: I love beating bosses with finishers to - It's, in fact, one of my favorite things :)

Critical is hard. Like, almost too hard. I like the new abilities but dear lord. Oof.
I didn't think it was too hard but I replayed the game on Proud multiple times to experiment on different builds before Critical Mode came out so that could be it
Yeah there are some bosses that clearly weren’t balance properly for crit and some of the combats flaws really start to show their face
I didn’t have any major problems after the tangled world personally.
Kh3 decided to push the difficulty to eleven.

Osaka team had the game likely made for a more easier mindset. With kh3 critical mode however that mindset turns into a handicap in all levels. Makes it rewarding but only after killing you several times.
A true warrior must know true pain, experience BIJ!!!
3 top tips for people wanting to try out critical mode:
- Pick guardian (you get the kh3 equivalent of second chance super early at level 4)
- Learn how to block
- Learn to back off an enemy/don't overextend (your sanity will thank-you in the long run)
...and there's me, going for a full mystic/wisdom build - regreting it - then being to proud to start over.
