I do like the way you put your sponsor slots in. With the time lapse in the background, makes me stay engaged with the project while still seeing and hearing your sponsor spot. Wish more people would do there ads that way, a lot less intrusive on the content
Suggestion: Put in how long it takes you to carry out these projects. I'd love to do this cyborg arm, for instance, but I'm wary of how long it would take me to do it. Other than that, thank you! Great channel! CRP
This is why I love your channel. The variety of projects you choose never ceases to amaze. Even if a particular project isn't in my wheelhouse (this one totally is!) I can still pull bits of knowledge from it.
That...is so freakin cool man. You should wear it unannounced in random videos from now on with no explanation to your audience. Just suddenly wearing a sick DIY robot arm...
Now follow basically the same process but do it with sheet metal and appropriate tools for shaping sheet metal and you'll have a pretty close design process to what I did for my stainless armor you saw at maker faire. Great work Bob! I'm working on some steampunk cyborg costume ideas out here in Portland also.
Thank you for telling me about Trello. I just signed up and it looks like it will be the productivity app I've been looking for forever. It may finally make sense of all the mess floating around in my head. Keep up the great work, Bob!
Great video the punished props and evil Ted videos are awesome. I started watching them because of you saying something on the making it podcast. My sister goes to alot of cons and I am going to get her a bunch of foam and tools so she can start taking her cosplay to the next level.
You channeled your inner Adam Savage on this. Love how you just dive into stuff and please wear a shirt 1 size too small in all you builds now. I really need to play around with foam. Such cool stuff you can make!
Damn, this is absolutely insane how good this looks even when its SO simple! Especially since the material cost are probably around 50$ or so, roughly guessed.
I've never been huge on Halloween costumes but this seem like a costume I could easily make with household things. Very cool! Will definitely be trying this!
This is a great idea and well executed! I love the new shop and I liked your choice of music for this as well. I'm really impressed by how much the cuts open up with heat. Great idea whomever came up with that.
Really cool Bob. And you do a great job showing how you built it. And, TRELLO, I'll support you because you support my friend Bob. (Plus, your product sounds cool.) Thanks! And I'm manning the door with the candy again...so I'll be the laid-back grandpa sneaking too much candy when no one is looking. :)
This is actually a pretty awesome video, and looks way more feasible than the one I literally just saw, that was talking about costing hundreds of dollars just for a one day build
Im planning to create a sith outfit and I think this would complete it. The only thing that I was having trouble with was how to wear it. Now I know so thank you
Dang it Bob! I was trying to be productive in the shop then I got the upload notification... As always awesome shirt & cool project!!! Keep making awesome stuff!! -Jake
Great video Bob. I'm not really into costume stuff, but those weathering and paint techniques are very useful... and Trello is brilliant. Use it every day for all kinds of things. 👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing the video man! I really enjoy seeing people just make up stuff, like an original design with some familiar influences. I'd usually make a costume for a girl friend of mine, take her to a Halloween party, and people would try to guess what she was, they would be all annoyed when I would just say " I made it up." ha ha. Respect to the creativity man! Great video
Awesome project its a good idea to not have to have a full costume but still be festive! you should post some trello boards online or patreon maybe? i always want to use the app but i feel like every time i try i don't know the most efficient way to use it
If you look at some of the concept art for cable in deadpool 2, it's basically just josh broilin with a cyborg arm and tactical belts/weapons. You could totally use this for cosplay.
Hi Bob ! I'm so fascinated by your awesome skill, how you made things (relief, details, colour...) is very interesting and "learnful". Now, your next project should be ... STORM TROOPER ARMOR 😃 Take care and thank you.
awesome! Just curious though. do you have any issues with the sleeve staying up without the rest of the shirt to hold it?... this would be an awesome idea to make a winter soldier costume.
Yogee Bear: Actually they are making DeLoreans now. A couple of guys bought the stock that was left, and is assembling it into complete cars, with just some parts newly manufactured. They go for quite a buck, but if you're loaded and a fan of Back to the Future, you're all set! :)
Wow, that's dedication. I can't believe you would cut your arm off to attach a cyborg arm for a video.
I do like the way you put your sponsor slots in. With the time lapse in the background, makes me stay engaged with the project while still seeing and hearing your sponsor spot.
Wish more people would do there ads that way, a lot less intrusive on the content
Thanks! I really appreciate that!
I Like To Make Stuff I am gonna be a one arm cyborg too. I have subscribed your channel it's awesome
I Like To Make Stuff I am gonna be the batman
I Like To Make Stuff are there any alternatives to Plasti Dip that I could use?
@@Iliketomakestuff l hope costumes as finn and his night sword and robot arm from adventure Time! Would a fern costumes!!! 😄
Great idea. I love the simplicity of removal.
Suggestion: Put in how long it takes you to carry out these projects. I'd love to do this cyborg arm, for instance, but I'm wary of how long it would take me to do it.
Other than that, thank you! Great channel! CRP
I like the idea of adding a cyborg arm to a stereotypical costume. I wanna be cyborg Elsa
I would really like to see a Evan Cybord Elsa.
You could throw in some electronics and have it automatically pick up stuff by voice. And drop it when you say, "Let it go"......
ha ha ha...cyborg Elsa! Ana would REALLY not be able to stop her then!
Hahaha I think he would make a really beautiful cyborg Elsa. Maybe I could be cyborg Olaf
Hahaha, you my friend have good ideas 😁😁
Haven't seen the full video yet, but man that arm suits you
This is why I love your channel. The variety of projects you choose never ceases to amaze. Even if a particular project isn't in my wheelhouse (this one totally is!) I can still pull bits of knowledge from it.
Perfect for shiro cosplay
That...is so freakin cool man. You should wear it unannounced in random videos from now on with no explanation to your audience. Just suddenly wearing a sick DIY robot arm...
i agrea with this.
And casually leave on the background one of your power tools stained with water-based washable red paint.
Why no explanation?
+TheRainBowNarwhal so that peoplebthat didnt see this vid will be confused
I was thinking more along the lines of dropping a subtle hint to your own video's without having to say anything.
I LOVE Trello! I use it too, been using it for a long time.
would be kinda cool to go to a public restroom and ask the guy in the stall next to you for some toilet paper then grab it with your cyborg arm.
It would also be unsanitary as fuck, but yeah...
The Shady One no swearing!!!
@Squidward Tentacles *starts getting off* (in a sexual way) "gewd.......gewd..."
Great project! I'm also a big fan of Trello. Glad to see they are sponsoring you!
Love the idea of taking simple drawing and idea, and building an modifying as you go. It my favorite way to Make Stuff. Great video Bob!
Cool build mate. Glad you used E-L wire... because I got over excited and shouted "you could use EL wire!!" At the screen and scared my dog.
always look forward to new videos from you. every time i get a notification, it just makes my day.
The only fairly easy project I've seen. Looks phenomenal
Watched it in 4K/UHD on TV. - It is CRAZY sharp and you make a very good investment in the long term value of your videos!
That is some dank auto mail friend
(Edit)- you would make winery proud
Nice build, Bob! Nice to hear that you use Trello because I'm using it for more than 3 years now.
No surprise that you'd come up with something simple and awesome for a costume. Way to go, Bob.
Thank you for telling me about Trello. I just signed up and it looks like it will be the productivity app I've been looking for forever. It may finally make sense of all the mess floating around in my head. Keep up the great work, Bob!
+Sam Lydecker awesome to hear that!
The tin foil and duct tape patterning was my favorite part. So many useful applications!
Great video the punished props and evil Ted videos are awesome. I started watching them because of you saying something on the making it podcast. My sister goes to alot of cons and I am going to get her a bunch of foam and tools so she can start taking her cosplay to the next level.
It would be nice to show how the arm looks like when it's lit. Thanks for sharing : )
It is LIT
+1 for both Bill Doran and Ted Smith. They are amazingly talented.
You channeled your inner Adam Savage on this. Love how you just dive into stuff and please wear a shirt 1 size too small in all you builds now. I really need to play around with foam. Such cool stuff you can make!
LOL, quit picking on Bob, emulation is the most sincere form of flattery :)
Oh yeh, totally not picking! Channeling Adam is the highest form of flattery.
Dude, that looks soo realistic to me for some reason. Sometimes I forced myself not to believe my eyes. Great job!
Damn, this is absolutely insane how good this looks even when its SO simple! Especially since the material cost are probably around 50$ or so, roughly guessed.
Awesome! Glad you put the EL wire in at the end . Thanks for sharing and have a great day. 🤘🏻
I am glad Trello finally sponsored you . You have been suggesting their app for a long time.
Yes!!
+1 for Trello. So glad you have them as a sponsor!
Me too!! They're great!
Thanks for helping with this year's Halloween costume. Very straightforward tutorial!
This is really cool. I like the idea of the lights for the extra detail.
Instead of using a shirt you could use a running sleve
it doesn't really cover all the arm.
I agree, Trello is amazing, perfect for makers!
Definitely!
1 year later bob will make an arc reactor that works lol nice idea for the arm love it
Sluggy 2 years later a Tardis
3 years later a working carbon-freezing machine
I've never been huge on Halloween costumes but this seem like a costume I could easily make with household things. Very cool! Will definitely be trying this!
Was that a "Get lucky" cover in the background? 😍
Evil Ted, Bill & Brit are great! Thanks for sharing this.
that arm is incredibly beautiful
A Winter Soldier arm would be sick! Really good work, though!
Wow! Really cool! The wires added so much, and then when you painted them...even more! Great video!
“I took a rough measurement of my bicep”
*measuring tape isn’t long enough*
Wierd flex but ok
You had me at "Cyborg".
This is a great idea and well executed!
I love the new shop and I liked your choice of music for this as well.
I'm really impressed by how much the cuts open up with heat. Great idea whomever came up with that.
Really cool Bob.
And you do a great job showing how you built it.

(Plus, your product sounds cool.)
Thanks!
And I'm manning the door with the candy again...so I'll be the laid-back grandpa sneaking too much candy when no one is looking. :)
My immediate thoughts were steampunk/cyberpunk and i love it!
This is actually a pretty awesome video, and looks way more feasible than the one I literally just saw, that was talking about costing hundreds of dollars just for a one day build
Great in depth tutorial Bob. Thanks for sharing right on time for pumpkin spice season.
With a little shoulder pad you could rock the winter soldier. Wonderful build
Looks good! I was waiting to see what it looked like in the dark.
My day instantly got better. Thank you +ILTMS for always teaching me new things!
That came out great Bob! Nice job.
Love it! Such a good idea cause this way you are dressed up but don’t feel ridiculous at the same time.
-Jake
Great work. You could also add a sound effects board with a flex sensor and/or buttons.
Bro you make this stuff look so cool
Thanks to your sponsor, i will be using that service to help me and my pack committee to make a better, more organized program for our cub scouts!
AN ACTUALLY INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO! FINALLY!
Awesome love to see a shot of the arm in the dark
Great video Bob. I'm not really into costume stuff, but those weathering and paint techniques are very useful... and Trello is brilliant. Use it every day for all kinds of things. 👍👍👍
Awesome Bob! It never gets old seeing foam being transformed into metal! I really gotta take a stab at this stuff :) great work man!
Great video
Can't be the only of that thought of Fullmetal Alchemist while I was watching this?
Yes but also shiro from voltron
It's really cool to watch you do theese projects, because I cannot do similar things!
Perfect now i need a cyborg leg...
And a living suit of armour who is my brother
(Fullmetal alchemist)
You like to make stuff. I like to watch you make stuff.
Whoa thats cooooooool
Awesome project its a good idea to not have to have a full costume but still be festive! you should post some trello boards online or patreon maybe? i always want to use the app but i feel like every time i try i don't know the most efficient way to use it
Your video are getting more and more profesional
If you look at some of the concept art for cable in deadpool 2, it's basically just josh broilin with a cyborg arm and tactical belts/weapons. You could totally use this for cosplay.
Use full to me: I don't think so
Why I watched it: because Bob made it! Keep up the great work!
I love your videos and i'm a huge fan. I have tried most of the project from your channel.
that look really cool. plus trello seems very useful.
If this were 2019 you would've had some sewing experience and you could've sewed the one sleeve to the more comfortable shirt lol. Good video!
Thanks for the video. This will definitely help with my Ballister costume this Halloween 🎃 Awesome arm tutorial 👍
He's noble 6, I love it man thanks for sharing
When you first held up the painted tube I thought it was a glow stick/party bracelet... which would also work great on the costume. Happy Halloween!
"Hi ! I'm Bob and I like to make stuff..."
hi Bob, I'm subscribed!
really cool arm, gj man, continue the good work
Great tips! Great build! Thanks Cy-Bob!
Now I have use for my left over shop mats! Fun project!
Hi Bob ! I'm so fascinated by your awesome skill, how you made things (relief, details, colour...) is very interesting and "learnful". Now, your next project should be ... STORM TROOPER ARMOR 😃
Take care and thank you.
What a great costume idea! I want to be down for Halloween 😅
Thank you Bob I'm making something like this, love ya man, keep it up
(Yes I'm rewatching this for the hundredth time)
Bob that is awesome man! Love your vids man.
I love Trello.
another great video......love the new workshop!
I love your intro man!
I am going for halloween as...
MYSELF, because I'm just that awesome!
This was rad. Love your work as always.
awesome! Just curious though. do you have any issues with the sleeve staying up without the rest of the shirt to hold it?... this would be an awesome idea to make a winter soldier costume.
First thing in mind was shiro from Voltron hand. That’s so cool man.
Oh no!
The robot uprising has taken our friend Bob
Now how will we diy in the future??
Super cool build Bob
Make a working DeLorean! With Flux capacitor
Good luck with making a DeLorean work :D
There are reasons why they don't make DeLoreans now
I mean, start with a working flux capacitor 1.21 Jigawatts!
Yogee Bear: Actually they are making DeLoreans now. A couple of guys bought the stock that was left, and is assembling it into complete cars, with just some parts newly manufactured. They go for quite a buck, but if you're loaded and a fan of Back to the Future, you're all set! :)
I don't want to be that guy, but it's spelled "gigawatts," like "gigabytes" or "gigaliters."
Btw when you water down paint to get into the grooves and wipe the surface that is called "inking"
ok it looks really REALLY COOL!
Great job on the costume but i need to know where you got that pixeled dearth star t-shirt. That's awesome.
