The problem I have with “Are you happy now” is Squidward claiming not to have a happy memory. Even though “Band Geeks” ended with him tasting (Sweet) victory.
That's a fair point. Perhaps when a person's more prone to anxiety or depressive symptoms they're less likely to be able to recall or focus on their good memories. *shrugs* But that was indeed a beautiful memory for him he should cherish.
@Samuel B-1 Unfortunately, the contradicting thing about that is that Squidward has said many times throughout the show that his life was great before Spongebob became his neighbor, so no matter if 'Are You Happy Now?' took place before or after 'Band Geeks', it still slightly messes with overall continuity of the show.

One thing that always kinda bugged me about "Cuddle E. The best part of spongebob’s 20th anniversary was that Patchy finally got to talk to spongebob. When Spongebob cries tears of joy from Patchy wishing him happy birthday warmed my heart so freaking much.
I loved Mall Girl Pearl. Definitely ond of the best. I was just scrolling through channels bored and saw SpongeBob was on so I watched it and it was that episode. It was fun and nice to see Pearl have a whole episode.
I thought SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout had one or two really cringe moments but was overall a really average episode. Best hour long episode in the show by far tho
To be honest I cringed the entire time. I hadn't seen any modern SpongeBob since like the one where they give plankton paranoia and lead him to near suicide... Yeah after that one I was kinda done with SpongeBob. But the other day I saw this coming on and I was like: they may have improved.... Dear God, I felt insulted. Every joke felt offbeat in my opinion. It was as if they were doing anything they could to make every second a slapstick joke. It felt fake. That being said, I didn't see the ending (mostly because the first half had me so annoyed I decided to just give up) perhaps I'll try to see it at least once through, just so I can have a fuller perspective.
SpongeBobs 10th anniversary (truth or square) was garbage written by people who didn’t care about sponge bob. Nice to see they redeemed themselves by making a true anniversary episode.
Yeah Squidward publicly humiliated Spongebob a few times. But let's not forget the dozens of times Spongebob broke into Squid's house. Awesome list btw! I love the style of worst then best.
it's still bad of squidward to do that oh you know what is satisfying to watch then squidward getting his punishment for reading spongebobs diary is seeing squidward apologise for reading his diary and learn to never do it again ever same goes for the towns people too its a shame that the towns people didn't get what they deserve ether but still satisfying to see squidward getting what he deserves in the end but a great list of the good and the bad episodes of spongebob
Also, it's good to note that in "Little Yellow Book," the townspeople were placing ALL the blame on Squidward. Mind you, this includes the people in the restaurant at the time, who witnessed this and took part in the bullying, and they chose Squidward as a scapegoat to cover their own shame.
That bear episode kinda seems like what a bad trip would be like. It's definitely not meant for kids. Like what the hell. Who thought making an episode about halluciogenic drugs would be a good idea.
it's less that they made that an episode, and more so how they handled it. substance abuse should be talked abt, unfortunately some kids may see it happening to family members, or other adults around them, hell, maybe even older kids like teenagers around them, but the problem lies with the fact that that episode just did NOT handle this message as carefully as they should.

I don't know about you guys but, his videos really helped me get a good night sleep, not in a bad way though. There must be something magical behind his voice, it's so soothing and peaceful. I'm so glad this channel existed in my recommendations just now. Great video!
Some of my favourite episodes are when Plankton is just there as a side character rather than an antagonist. It’s so charming to me to see an “evil” character just... bein some guy
No matter what's on or not on this list, nothing will be worse than the horrible "babies" spinoff Nickelodeon is farting out - against Steven Hillenburg's wishes, and reminder *immediately* after his death.

I'm glad you included the Top 5 Best in here. Post Season-9 Spongebob is quite good if you ask me, it's very overhated (even if it does have bad episodes)
If I'm being totally honest, seeing the characters as well as their voice actors appear in the same episode was in my opinion the best moment in all of SpongeBob history.
You know, Spongebob’s Big Birthday Blowout surprisingly felt like an episode from the golden age of Spongebob. The animation wasn’t nearly as over exaggerated as the other new episodes and it was just pretty funny. I just really wish the other new episodes had slightly less overly exaggerated animations. They can make an amazing episode without them. Watch Feral Friends. Or the episode about the pirates. Also I hate are you happy now mainly because Squidwards had so many happy moments like the ending of band geeks. Also the scuicide jokes...
Does anyone agree that one of the best episodes of sponge bob was the Christmas special I'm not sure when it was made but it's a huge part of my childhood because when it came out it was played every year in December and I watch it every Christmas eve
I completely agree with the number 1 best. I missed this animation since the Christmas special. I just found it really cute and I like it when cartoons tries other animation techniques even if it's once in a blue moon and Spongebob Squarepants does it very well.
One thing I can adore about the modern seasons is this imo: I like how in some episodes, the writers decided to pair up 2 or more characters together in one episodes. Examples like Swamp Mates (Patrick and Bubble Bass), Whale Watching (Squidward and Pearl), A Cabin in The Kelp (Sandy, Pearl, Karen, and Mrs. Puff), Larry the Floor Manager (Larry, Mr. Krabs, Squidward, Spongebob), Krabby Patty Creature Feature (Sandy and Mr. Krabs), ect. Most of these episodes just have these characters having fun together, going on adventures, or just hanging out! That's what I love about the newer seasons. It's a nice idea they have. Also, I like how they dedicate some episodes to background characters! Such as Moving Bubble Bass, My Leg!, Mall Girl Pearl, and many more! It's nice that they are dedicating episodes to other characters. Well, this was my hot take on part of what I love about the modern seasons :)
To be fair one of my favorite episodes from modern Spongebob is "Spongebob's Last Stand". The reason why I like this episode is because I love how Spongebob and Patrick tried to save Jellyfish Fields from being destroyed by a highway. I know it's one of those episodes with the enviromental message but on the other side it shows what would have happen if the jellyfishes wouldn't had their home, that's the reason why I really like this episode.
@@chazztreat8317 ok idk why you suddenly told me that but I agree and I think they're almost on par with the original seasons even tho the bad episodes are much, much worse than the bad episodes from seasons 1-3.

Which moments in particular? Also sorry ABC master but I don’t remember which one truth or square is
Samia Davenport agreed
The bean part was so cringe and felt like a forced excuse to stick a bunch of Nick sitcom stars in it.
Other than that it’s pretty good.
I imagine your pfp was your face watching the episode
SpongeBobs 10th anniversary (truth or square) was garbage written by people who didn’t care about sponge bob.
Nice to see they redeemed themselves by making a true anniversary episode.
Atlantis Squarepantis was way worse
@Jay Harv28 I don't know how any human being could not like spongebob
@Jay Harv28 oh ok
@@AlanTGP1 Worst than Little Yellow Book?
I vibe massively with Squidward's "umm, back to bed" when he sees Cuddly
?Wtf he doesnt See cuddly
That was quite funny
same
Yeah Squidward publicly humiliated Spongebob a few times.
Squidward has fallen quite far nowadays.
That bear episode kinda seems like what a bad trip would be like. It's definitely not meant for kids. Like what the hell. Who thought making an episode about halluciogenic drugs would be a good idea.
How the hell did it even get pass Nickelodeon?
My question is...
What the hell did they put in that Krabby Patty?
To show awareness for drugs
Man i love episodes based off drug in a KIDS show. Wow.
it's less that they made that an episode, and more so how they handled it. substance abuse should be talked abt, unfortunately some kids may see it happening to family members, or other adults around them, hell, maybe even older kids like teenagers around them, but the problem lies with the fact that that episode just did NOT handle this message as carefully as they should.
8:03 Bean is indeed a good bean and I’m so sorry to hear the poor bean got such a bad case of worms.
Back on topic I don’t think you said anything that I don’t disagree with at all in this video.
There are good worms, actually. They're called gummi worms.
Wow...seeing modern Spongebob's animation (1:34)...it's just changed so much. I can't believe how far this cartoon has come 😌
Modern spongebob, take it or leave it.
But the birthday blowout episode was great! I could watch an entire live action version of an episode.
Don't give them any ideas!
@@samuelb-1406 they are clearly out of ideas soo
Take me by the hand, lead me to the man...
Goodbye, Stephen. You were truly a miracle.
I don't know about you guys but, his videos really helped me get a good night sleep, not in a bad way though. There must be something magical behind his voice, it's so soothing and peaceful. I'm so glad this channel existed in my recommendations just now. Great video!
That video at the end of you juggling always feels so calming
Wow, I thought I was the only one who likes "Are You Happy Now?" Im really surprised heheh
I like it too
Same. I got some serious IZ/Bodysnatcher vibes from it.
@@ZerryBerrytheSpaceRaccoon Wow, some people that actually like this one!
I’m so sorry but which one is that again?
I LOVE IT :D
Some of my favourite episodes are when Plankton is just there as a side character rather than an antagonist. It’s so charming to me to see an “evil” character just... bein some guy
I never watched these before but now, I kinda wanna do that now.
Well Done Strosh and PhantomTeam! :)
No matter what's on or not on this list, nothing will be worse than the horrible "babies" spinoff Nickelodeon is farting out - against Steven Hillenburg's wishes, and reminder *immediately* after his death.
Adrian Naranjo yea it’s sick
*groans* Wake me when I'm dead! 😑
Side note: I'm just quoting an episode.
But seriously, this is straight-out mean.
Nickelodeon, you gotta stop doing this.
Tbh culture shock the one where Patric says he’s just standing there menacingly and the one where Krabs makes spongebob look for the secret formula but krabs actually had it were the top 3 😁
Could you do Top 5 Best and Worst Spongebob Specials?
I think it would be very interesting to compare what makes a Spongebob Special work and what doesn’t.
Brandan Emmanuel I agree with everything especially dunces and dragons except for the fact thaT ATLANTIS SQUAREPANTIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST SPONGEBOB EPISODES
I laughed really hard when it's shown live action plankton just has a gun
Mr Krabs: a regular manager
Squidward: a annoyed cashier
Plankton: 🔫😐
I just realized that the "cuddle e hugs" Is about drugs
cuddle e drugs
@@gigachadcooper7381 we need to get your like higher then the actual commentwr for making this absolutely funny joke
Jk its not that funny its actually eh
"I wouldn't mind an entire episode of a live action episode with the cast playing themselves."
Look up Froyo Gamers. They remade a few episodes
he means the actual actors but yeah froyo gamers remakes of episodes as well as others remakes are really enjoyable
I literally read this as "the cast playing with themselves"
or hollow hills productions.
Even Rue Paul said **Happy birthday Spongebob** im crying ¡~¡
The I wasn't paying attention and when i heard RuPaul I was like HOL UP
"After season 9"
*puts a season 8 episode in honorable mentions*

He said that for being on the list , the Episodes should be made after 2012 and Are you Happy now is from 2012
@@jamalsistas414 Yes so it's not *after* 2012. ...but we are just laughing that he broke the rule, not being super pissed or anything, a little is fine though.
@@hotaru8309 I agree
He put it in mentions because it was season 8
He put a Season 8 episode in the honorable mentions because he wanted to talk about it but it's not from Season 9
I like how in Bookini, there was the nod reference, to both times of Plankton, when The Flying Dutchman goes inside Spongebob's brain and gets scared in a roller coaster turn of events.
Cuddle E hugs is a communist
Cuddles says: we can share the bed
I actually found that episode surprisingly disturbing. Dunno why. Actually I do know
That cuddle hugs episode is definitely about drug abuse. And how it will eat your life.

My favorite was Christmas special with SpongeBob on clay motion
It's A SpongeBob Christmas!
Underrated episode
It’s a good special but doesn’t exactly live up to “Christmas Who?”,the very first Spongebob special to exist and the og Christmas spongebob special
Ink Lemonade was a terrible episode but it at least had one super relatable joke
the torture?
"Old raspy geezer voice"? Ah yes, my favourite old person voice...Jeff Garlin
You're the only other person to notice... He also voiced the captain from WALL-E
And the villian from jimmy timmy power hour 3
And the dad from The Goldbergs
@@thecolonel6394 that i was i remember his voice every time i here him speak during the episode cuddle e hugs .... too bad the episode makes me ill
I almost thought it was Dan Schneider as the hamster...🤣
I'm glad you included the Top 5 Best in here. Post Season-9 Spongebob is quite good if you ask me, it's very overhated (even if it does have bad episodes)
Stephen was the one TRUE King Neptune 🔱
I guess we can all say...
That is is the one true Stephen King! XD
Theodore, God's gift yes
@creepy creeper He was probably thinning
@creepy creeper Stephen (In Heaven): YOU DARE DISRESPECT ME?
2:25 Gary is licking his eyes lmao. How ironic, He knows how the viewers are feeling
If I'm being totally honest, seeing the characters as well as their voice actors appear in the same episode was in my opinion the best moment in all of SpongeBob history.
this comment was really yucky so hi
Heck yeah! I just regret that I didn't see it sooner. hehe!
Nice?
*ARE YOU READY TO PARTY?!?!*

fuckin really?
*Patty*
Squirrel jelly is the only time I felt bad for modern patrick.
And modern SpongeBob
*EVEN AFTER NO HAT FOR PAT?!?!?!*
Cyka Lasagna Why?
And the jellyfish!!
What happened to the jellyfish
You know, Spongebob’s Big Birthday Blowout surprisingly felt like an episode from the golden age of Spongebob. The animation wasn’t nearly as over exaggerated as the other new episodes and it was just pretty funny. I just really wish the other new episodes had slightly less overly exaggerated animations. They can make an amazing episode without them. Watch Feral Friends. Or the episode about the pirates.
Also I hate are you happy now mainly because Squidwards had so many happy moments like the ending of band geeks. Also the scuicide jokes...
1:35 - did he forget what happened in "To love a patty?"
I hope
Bleh, the worm episode is a major trypophobia trigger
Fun Fact: The Person Who Voice Acted Cuddle E. Hugs Is The Same Voice Actor Who Voiced The Captain From Wall E
Cuddle E Hugs Wall-E
E
I thought it was Dan Schneider...🤣
And now wall e sucks
19:44 I don’t think I’ve ever seen Squidward to react to something so fast
Does anyone agree that one of the best episodes of sponge bob was the Christmas special I'm not sure when it was made but it's a huge part of my childhood because when it came out it was played every year in December and I watch it every Christmas eve
Aoife Doran it was in the first season handrawn
SpongeBob’s big birthday blowout is one of my favorite episodes of the series, especially with introducing the live action version of the cast.
I completely agree with the number 1 best. I missed this animation since the Christmas special. I just found it really cute and I like it when cartoons tries other animation techniques even if it's once in a blue moon and Spongebob Squarepants does it very well.
OMG ANOTHER PHANTOMSTIDER AND SPONGEBOB YAS I LOVE THIS
One thing I can adore about the modern seasons is this imo:
I like how in some episodes, the writers decided to pair up 2 or more characters together in one episodes.
Just wish half the people in humanity could realize that…
Yeah, I guess that's a pretty good upside.
That’s not modern, though.
Can we apreciate the slower spooky version of Grass Skirt Chase that was in Bookini?
“With his raspy old geezer voice”
*aint that voice the captain from wall-e*
THAT’S what it reminded me of!
He's also Buttercup for tpy story 3 & 4
Why do people think spongebob episodes from the 2000’s are “modern”???
Holy shit your right
They're talking about the episodes after the first movie.
Shadow the TH-camr I don’t mind modern spongebob it may not be as good as the original seasons but I still get a laugh now and then
@@chazztreat8317 ok idk why you suddenly told me that but I agree and I think they're almost on par with the original seasons even tho the bad episodes are much, much worse than the bad episodes from seasons 1-3.
@nut not only those. Every episode aired after the first movie is considered modern.
