Really nice setup! Thanks for the video! Perhaps you will cover this in a future video, but how often do you encounter issues with your computer part of your setup and what do you do if it crashes or glitches? Thanks again and have a great day!

REALLY good questions here. I'll try to make a video in the future addressing this, but as you can probably guess by all of the hardware in my rig, I'm gunshy of computers a bit. That said, with the power and stability of the new MacBook Pro with the M1 chip I'm learning to trust again. More on that soon!

Hi Eric! Thank you for your video! I also have SM10 and I think it is the best sounding line mixer with excellent routing capabilities. Your idea of returning keys mix to one pair, and FOH on the other is brilliant! You free up both your sends, great! Do you have any latency/ phasing issues with layering FOH mix with your keyboard mix, because of digital mixer processing latency? All the best! Thanks again!

Thanks for the kind words! I haven’t had any issues yet with phasing, and so far it’s been running like a champ. Got to figure out a better way to bolt stuff down, a lot of things are bouncing loose in transit.

    Hi Eric, great video.
Just a quick question- are your returns to the Samson key mixes stereo?

The sends are stereo, but of course you have to use up inputs for returns. Fortunately all the inputs on the unit are stereo. So I think the answer is, yes, they're stereo returns.

Well, well... for some reason I stopped receiving your Monday emails for about 6 years and last week I started receiving them again. So, that being said, there’s a lot I missed. Are you still using MainStage? If not, what do you use now? I moved to Ableton since I started making my own demos and recording some bass for some friends.

Wow, a lot has changed, for sure! I recently started blogging again after a long hiatus. I have two kids now, moved to Nashville with my family, and I'm a full time touring and session guy now. So much has changed!
Yes, I do still use MainStage but not nearly as much as I used to. That's changing though as I'm slowly learning I can trust MainStage to not crash live. On one of my first big opportunities in town about 5 years ago, I tried to run MainStage and it crashed onstage several times. I never got called back and I blame MainStage and a slow computer.
I have a new M1 MacBook Pro, and so far it’s really proved to be stable, which has made me start using it a bit live. We’ll see how that plays out as I learn to trust again 😆
