So I’m a Raptors fan. My team has lost all their starters and half the bench. We’re on a 10 game losing streak. We’re starting rookies and G-League guys.
And there’s still a 50+ percent chance we lose our pick to the Spurs.

I wouldn't worry to much about the players and how they fit until the Pistons get a coach that knows how to make a proper rotation. This team should have 25-30 wins but Monty is actively sabotaging games.

As a now officially Old School Pistons fan, it's really hard for me to let go of the team. But I'm leaning towards rooting for players in the NBA the same way others do. It's exactly what I did when the Lions were terrible for so long.
But yeah. Enough. And I hate that there's really no sign that Weaver or Monty Williams is going anywhere. There's no bright lights.

The worst part about the Pistons this yr hasn't been that 95% of their draft picks appear to be duds (it don't matter how much of a "sure thing" a guy is draft picks are literally lotto scratchers) its that they seemed hell bent on playing the ABSOLUTE WORST LINE-UPS possible maybe they didn't wanna give up on certain guys or admit they missed on certain guys or admit they made a bad move but they were putting out terrible line-ups....ON PURPOSE😂

Im sorry Kofie its my fault my fantasy basketball team endured some sort of curse when the playoffs began (i had Jakob Poetl, Sengun, Tobias Harris, Immanuel Quickley, Asuar Thompson, i added Fonticelli on the Pistons to replace Asuar, and for good meauere Isiaiah Stewart was on my team, and one of the many injury replacements i pulled was Bilial Coulby.
For those of you not *entirely* in the loop, every last one of these players was healthy 3 weeks ago

The pistons best defender has a health scare. The pistons second best defender is Jalen Duren who is correctly called out for his lack of defense in this video.
The Pistons have a single trade asset, he is eligible for a max extension this summer, he is arguably the pistons worst defender. The pistons could have the full 141 million of salary cap available and I’d bet against them turning this roster around.
Isaiah Stewart is the second best defender overall. Duren is terrible defensively. And Ivey is still the worst defender on the team, even though Cade is very bad.

It's amazing how this was just supposed to be an evaluation year, and the evaluation says, "BLOW IT ALL UP". Having almost any of these players after a year like this cannot be accepted. There is a losing stink that may not go away until many of these players are purged. Almost everyone except Cade and Ausar are on the table. That means Ivey, Fontecchio, you name them, they are on the chopping block. Duren is young and good, but for the right package, I would be willing to let him go. A season like this can linger on for years. As for Monte Williams..... here's the thing. He's always worked better with veterans than he has with younger players. If you give him the players he needs to start a rebuild, and bring in veterans on non-stupid contracts (Please no Kuz, please no Lavine, please no DeRozan), and build around a young core, I feel like it could work. My guess is that Monte is fired midway through next season, though. Because Tom Gores is the worst.
True the season's end can't come quick enough. And a lot of us want to talk about the draft. Well let me say when we get the number #5 pick, a negative statement if ever there was one, it may not really matter. It's like instead of being positive in the face of this travesty of a season unfolding right before our very eyes, I shouldn't even be mentioning that 5th pick right?
Like a play-by-play announcer saying a player has hit "10 free throws in a row" or he shoots "93% from the line" and the guy misses the next two. Anyway, whatever pick we get, and if somehow we miraculously get a good free agent to come to the Pistons, if Monty Williams keeps playing these Twilight Zone, Outer Limits and Believe it or Not lineups and suspect rotations game in and game out those free agents and draft picks will mean absolutely nothing.
Now we're getting more into we should trade for this player and draft this guy. As I said I get it. I've been doing it since 1969, the year I fell in love with my hometown team. However, seeing the highs and lows between then and now and especially since the Chauncey trade, I concluded that this team was not going to Skyrocket my blood pressure nor am I going to have conniptions when or if we don't get the "deserved" #1 or at least #2 picks. What I'm thinking about now is when will Gores announce that he wants to move the team out of Detroit which the so-called "Powers-That-Be" whomever they may be, probably want anyway.
I mean think about it. No matter what you may think about the WNBA The Detroit Shock did win 3 of 4 championships. Then what happens? Most ot the team dismantles. Is moved out of the state and the name Shock is nowhere to be found. Almost like they never existed. And this was a championship team! But they were in the Motor City. Get it? No? Oh well. D v Er'body. I hope saying *_Go Pistons_* don't actually mean they're going literally. 😒
Dont worry, the League will still give the 1st pick to the spurs! Troy Weaver would waste it anyways. Every year the bar gets lower and the pistons still somehow manage to limbo under it.

All Ik is on April 14 Troy Weaver better be out of a job. And I hate saying that because he could draft players he just sucked at free agency and trading away assets. Like Bogi shouldn’t have been on this team opening night. I’ve been seeing people say fire Monty but the thing is Monty isn’t going anywhere at least for another couple of years or until Monty wants to leave. And even then do we really trust Tom Gores to hire the right people? I really don’t. This team needs a coach who is good at player development kind of like what Kenny Atkinson did with Brooklyn. Because if you ignore the first half of the season when Killian Hayes and Livers and Kevin Knox were starting we’ve looked a lot better with actual NBA players on the roster.

I think this is more on Tom than anyone. Weaver isn’t good, but I definitely don’t think he gets to make the decisions HE wants to make like half the time. Hard to judge
That was a great point reagrding Andre Drummond. He was my favorite player, but even I had to admit at some point that, yeah. He never reached his potential. He could have been an American answer to Gobert, or Bam Adebayo before Bam Adebayo. He just chose...not to. I wish I could meet Andre and ask him if he has any regrets about his career, because I saw a social media post where he was speaking to some young players, saying, "I wish I had put in the work. I could have been great, but I was foolish." These aren't exact quotes, but for the most part, this was the jist of what he said. I wish I could meet this version of Andre, and let him know that as much as I enjoyed him as a Detroit Piston, I also wonder what could have been had he had his head on straight after that contract extension.

5 of the 10 worst seasons in Pistons history happening under Tom Gores seems like a bad thing but should he actually care? If he keeps turning a profit and the value of the organization keeps appreciating then why should he care about winning basketball games? From his perspective I see no reason to change anything. Looks like a thriving asset.

Trade Cade .. and duren they both soft and don’t play winning ball .. cade slow down the offense and his defense not good at all to compensate for his trash offense .. he can put up stats but stats don’t win you games u need effort , iq , leadership , cade not a leader he sink with the ship everytime
This team has a bad rooster to me. Ivy and Asur both fill the same role but one is taller and better at defense. They got rid of their best shooter. They don't have a true center that can be a defensive anchor. No veteran presence at the moment. Durren is an athletic 4 to me, and Isiah Steward makes no sense, he should be trained to be a 3. Move Asur to the 2, and get a SF that can shoot. Get a real center.
