Afterlife Spoiler! I loved it when they referenced that in Afterlife. It's crazy that Janine interviewed Winston for a job, and 35 years later Winston is extremely successful and he receives her in his fancy office. :)
She's an amazing actress. Her timing is perfect and her pan face is so funny. She brought all these attributes to her role in Young Sheldon as Meemaaw. Love her.
I love how she crushes on Egon but he’s so hilariously awkward about it, she can’t see he’s a 100 % scientific workaholic. Watch the “I’m afraid you’re gonna die” scene. The instant the phone rings Egon breaks off the hug and is all “I’ll get it!”
I will never understand why Harold Ramis protested against their relationship. At least it was somewhat expanded on in the animated series. In RGB, it was revealed Egon did have feelings for her, and in XGB, they were still good friends and close.
@@lofthouse23 even in the Cartoon, it was seldom romantic and generally one sided. The one time He and Jeannine did go on a date, Egon refused to allow it to be called a “date” by Peter. The reason why is Egon is a 100% workaholic nerd. He’s the type who’s married to his work and I think Harold Ramis knew it. Those kind of people find romance and relationships a distraction from intellectual pursuits... at least until later in life and/or they meet someone as nerdy as themselves, which is rare. They do exist.
I love how the Real Ghostbusters allowed Janine and Egon to have a more sweetly romantic relationship. At first, Egon seems unsure about it, but in the episode "Janine, you've changed," he finally admits he loves her and at the end of the episode asks her out while they sit and watch the sunset. I love that scene!
I adored the cartoons, every series, because it gave us more time with the "sidekick" characters. The graphic novels are awesome too, really fleshing out the characters. Even as a Ghostbuster, we never got enough Winston.

Let's not forget, if we go by Real Ghostbusters she's at least capable of dreaming life as a Ghostbuster. (If they wanted a woman Busting, why not hook Janine in? I never understood that...)

When I watched Ghostbusters when I was younger I had no idea who Annie Potts was but always remembered Janine. When I got older and Annie Potts came onto my radar in Young Sheldon I didn’t think anything about it till I watched the movies again a couple years ago and realized “well I’ll be damned”
It’s crazy how she both meemaw from young Sheldon but Sheldon would have watched this film witch is wierd to think about and she’s also Po pep from toy story
there is a scene in season 2 where the family goes around to give graces to what they are thankful for and Missy's says, "I'm thankful that there's two ghostbusters cartoons" and Meemaw says, "That's it!?" Missy like, "unless you know about a third one." a direct but subtle reference to this movie and her character.

Yeah, the Real Ghostbusters is actually one of my all time favorite cartoons and I think Egon and Janine are a cute couple.
