Part of the reason this movie isn't as well liked is none of them seem to have grown in any way. They're all still the same as they started, so it just seems like a bunch of nostalgia instead of a real addition to their story. And instead of changing them in any way, the movie just magically starts rewarding them for their failings. Will's singing would turn off any and all women instantly, so the fact that she reacts positively to it is some manic pixie dreamgirl nonsense.

It's been covered by loads of people over the years, but the most famous cover version was by Roberta Flack and that's probably the version of the song most people immediately think of, so I'd have thought it'd be really well known in the USA. Funnily enough most people avoid the water parks in Australia (like the one where they shot this) because there are awesome beaches not half an hour away! It's just a tourist trap.
Dreadlocks look cool. The Vikings wore a type of dreadlock and so did the Ancient Minoans, Celts and Indians to name a few. I do agree that some people look pathetic in them though.
I'll give you a suggestion, BUT YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE MOVIE FIRST!!! THE MOVIE CAME FIRST. It's a comedy about 2 teen, not the smartest, guys that are always looking to scam....hence why it's called the young offenders! The small independent film done so well than expected the BBC picked it up to make it a series.
I didn't like either movie that much compared to the series but this one just doesn't feel like Inbetweeners at all, it felt more like a 1980s US gross out comedy that just happened to share the same character names. First one at least feels slightly related to the series.

The one thing that bothered me with this film was how out of place some of the humour felt. There were crazy moments in the show, like Jay in the nursing home, but they felt natural to the characters. In this movie you have things like the water slide "incident" that felt completely unnatural
I agree. Neil's ibs came out of no where. We hear plenty of references in the series about Neil's need to release his bowels but never mentions ibs. Literally just a means to get a poo joke in the film
I still think the second movie is crap but gotta admit I must have missed a couple when I first watched it. Neil recommending Grindr to Will was quite funny. One of the things I hate about it is how they treated Lucy, Simons bird. In the first movie she's a laid back sweetheart. In this movie they make her insane and act completely different to how she was in the first movie just to add a bit of conflict and make Simon single again. Jay even quits his job just to maintain an obvious lie. The humour is a bit too exaggerated and American for my taste. Not relatable and believable like the series.
Matt Cardle is the fella from Britain's Got Talent who sang that song. Great song in fairness. There are some excellent cover versions out there including one by Johnny Cash.

Derry Girls is very much a similar vibe to The Inbetweeners, just with the group of Northern Irish girls in the 90s.
The film “The Festival” is pretty similar to the inbetweners and has Simon and Tara in it. White Gold has Simon and Jay in it and is very funny.
