Middle schools are rare in the UK, where secondary school starts at 11, so it's common for there to be 11-18 year-olds at the same school.
The disco isn't restricted to pupils of their school. The attendees have to be under 18, but the minimum age is whatever the organisers set it at.

    In Britain the schools go.
Primary school ages 5 to 11. You start year 1 when you’re 5 and you end year 6 when your 11.
Secondary school 11 to 16. You start year 7 when your 11 and end year 11 when your 16.
In Britain you finish school at 16 but you have the option of staying in school for another two years. This is called the Sixth Form (years 12 & 13) and is usually what you do if your planning on going to university.
The boys here are in the first year of Six Form so they’re between 16 and 17.

Primary School ages 4 to 11, Secondary School ages 11-16. Most Secondary schools now have a department for A Levels where as when I was in secondary school if you wanted to do A levels you had to go to a local college. As the majority of secondary schools if not all secondary schools now have an A-level department you can stay in Secondary School from 11-18 now but there is also the option to leave at 16 and go straight to work or do an apprenticeship but education has changed a lot since I left school in 1998. So yeah basically everyone at the party is under 18 but over 11 they are all what you would call high schoolers and we call secondary school because we don't have middle school just primary school and secondary school.

Most places in the UK do Primary School (4-11) and Secondary School (11-18), but it's different in different places. Where I'm from in Worcestershire, we do First School (4-9), Middle School (9-13) and High School (13-18). Some other places do Infants and Juniors instead of Primary School, but I don't really understand that.

I own a burger van on an industrial estate and pretty much deal with blue collar workers all day. Absolute top blokes for the most part. Was having trouble with the wind blowing my hatch down one day, and one of the guys came back with a steel rod he had welded a hook to the end of. Totally sorted the problem. He wanted nothing, but he got his breakfast butty free for a couple of days.

@ProudOfYourRoots I do get proper burgers in. All my meat comes from a local butcher. My burgers, bacon and sausages are all superb quality. It was the main reason I started my own van; I was sick of the shite served by other vans. As a consequence my ingredients cost about 3X what other burger vans pay.
Those shitty burgers frozen are ~40p each. which answers your initial question. My fresh ones cost me about £1.30 each.

I did that for my first job when I left school. Worked for a bloke who owned a catering company that was selling pies/burgers/sausages rolls & bovril etc, at the local footy ground.
Then I did the races with him after he took me on when I left school. We'd go to York, Notts, Beverley, Pontefract etc. Harder graft than most realise, but it's a great industry to be in - "People always have to eat" as my old boss would say.

My favourite part of this episode is when Gilbert briefly goes outside of his office and laughs his arse off and then comes back in calm, because I know a number of teachers from when I was at high school who would've done exactly the same thing!
One example is when a friend of mine back-handed someone (who was annoying him) which caused the slap-ee to cry so he reported my friend to the head of year (the Gilbert-like), the teacher told him to stop being such a wimp and told my friend not to do it again! lol

In the UK you attend Primary school from the age of 3 to 11. You attend High School from the age of 12 to 16, at which point you have a few options: to stop education entirely, to go to college, or attend another 2 years of high school in a program known as the sixth form. Will is middle upper class and Jay, Neil and Simon are middle class. But the little kid is working class and comes from a council estate where things are alot different growing up. None of them can fight and they are constantly bullied.

There is a US version of the show, that just about lasted twelve episodes and was only watched by half a million people. Apparently, it was really bad, and most of the jokes in it were lifted straight from the UK version (the girl getting hit with the Frisbee, the car door getting knocked off, and the little boy getting puked on by Simon).

    Primary School:
    Reception (4-5 yrs); Year 1 (5-6); Year 2 (6-7); Year 3 (7-8); Year 4 (8-9); Year 5 (9-10); Year 6 (10-11)
    Secondary School:
    Year 7 (11-12 yrs); Year 8 (12-13); Year 9 (13-14); Year 10 (14-15); Year 11 (15-16)
Years are split into forms, so there would be multiple forms in each year and from my experience at least, each form would have names specific to the school.
Sixth Form (usually continued at Secondary School, so is the sixth year at secondary):
Year 12 (16-17 yrs); Year 13 (17-18) - these are also known as Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth.
This may have changed since I was at school twenty years ago, but hopefully provides context :)

Im not sure you're right about the Fish and Finger pie , firstly they are singing about a street "Lane" not a girl and Fish Fingers were considered an affordable meal for children in the 60s/ 70s so its conceivable that for the lyric they state Fish and Finger pie instead of Fishfinger pie. Having said this , as a schoolboy back in the day it was always considered that if you had fingered a girl then your fingers would smell fishy , which wasn't actually true.

Primary school - infants and juniors from 4 years old 'til 11 years old
Secondary school (high school) - 11 years old til 15-16- 17-18 depending on whether you stay on to do A levels then go to university or leave at 16 to go to college or into work

  • @sapphirerainbow8337
    @sapphirerainbow8337 ปีที่แล้ว

Standard senior school is age 11-16, but the optional extra 2 years (sixth form) which is what they are in is age 16-18. Standard senior school is year 7 - year11. Sixth form is years 12 & 13. The Inbetweeners are age 17 in year 12 at this point.
So their school has people aged 11-18 in it.
