Hey Finn, you mentioned the schralp/roost as being fun but slow. Does it also have a safety element? Seems like it could get you out of trouble if you hit a corner a little too hot and want to dump some speed. Kind of like throwing your skis sideways to get out of trouble when skiing.
man... fires in my state (oregon) are eating away at my local trails. it's tearing my inside apart seeing some of the best riding in the world being taken away so easily. i can't even go outside because theres so much fuckin smoke. i just wanna ride man. watching these vids help tho, thanks finn
There's part of the technique here that is demonstrated in the clips, but not mentioned. Look at 03.15 and 03.31, and you'll see his inside foot is down - the opposite of what you'd expect in a normal turn. I'm no schralping expert, but that's got me wondering whether part of the technique here is to start with your feet level but then apply more force through your inner foot. This would make sense because you normally apply most force through your outside foot as this puts more of your body weight/momentum down through the tyre into the ground - i.e. the opposite of what you want when you're trying to get your tyre to slide in a schralp. If you put your bodyweight/momentum through the inside foot, you'll be pushing the tyre outwards rather than downwards, which is presumably what you want.
@Finn Iles is it possible to schralp a corner on your non-dominant side? I noticed you're left foot forward, and you chose a left turn to schralp on. Would you change anything to schralp on a right turn?
Marius bro I wanna know too. Try running a lower pressure in the front. Helps me sometimes. Also use the bunny hop technique to loft weight from the back

can you doo a video on how not to schralp please? some of us cant help but schralp and its a real problem like the other day I schralped into some dog walkers and a mother with kids, please help those of us effected by compulsive schralping habits.
The other title for this edit was gonna be ‘how to ruin the trail for others by riding selfishly’ but that wouldn’t have got the views in quite as well would it? Have a bit of respect if you’re riding something someone else has built
Roost or schralp? Discuss. 🧐
Roost it
Roost for the dust or loam that comes up when you do one
Schralp causes the roost?
These vids are such good quality. Again, dont know how you dont have more subs.
A roost is more dirt/dust spray a shralp is more on a hard pack tacky berm when you get the rappppp
We're loving the How To episodes! 🤘
But most importantly... Which tire pressure do you recommend for the best sound experience? 👀
@@ninovignes_ less than 30 and it doesn't count.
I would not go below 45 psi - trust me!
/s
Calling it now pressure police will be straight onto this video
You should do a video with Jackson Goldstone
Yes Finn we need this
We so do
Yessss
"Trail builders HATE him! Find out how all the berms in Canada were ruined with this one simple trick."

Great video Finn! This broke it down really well.
You know you did it right when the tire unbeads from the rim.
Check out the riding segment from last years Järvso vlog for some tire un-beading action 👉 th-cam.com/video/GxMaeYClclg/w-d-xo.html
I just got a business idea... beadslocks for bikes! you get 10% of my first mil $ ;)
@@smooothyyy i thought that was called cushcore?
If you manage to un-bead a correctly set up downhill tire you have my respect.
Ah yes I did that today haha
Love this video and every other one Finn! Keep it up man.

Man, sorry to hear that. My Thoughts go out those affected by the wildfires. Stay strong 💪 🙏
Your stuff is SICK!!!!! KEEP ON GOING
More how to videos please
it felt so good for the first time until i had no air in my tire.
That's why it's not considered the fast way of cornering 😂Make sure you keep your tire pressure nice and firm!
@@finniles9204 whats a good pressuree?

Your video should be called: How to destroy berms and the good work and effort of the trail builder.

Ye fin fucking banger as always dude
So what is proper and faster??
I’m watching this while in front of that exact berm
Can I schralp with a Cushcore?
ohi fin what about bikepark bermy cornering at race pace tecnique efficence
Can you do it in slow speed?
How do i prevent going otb after roosting my frontwheel always washes out:(
Marius bro I wanna know too. Try running a lower pressure in the front. Helps me sometimes. Also use the bunny hop technique to loft weight from the back
Which technique do you think works better or is it different/ more preference per rider in terms of outside foot down vs forward and level?
More level footed is better. Either foot forward works fine as long as you follow the same motions with the rest of your body mentioned in the video 🤟
what pants are you wearing?
Pay Loris a visit 🤟🏻
Im interested on doing it but, can this bend my rims??
if you do not have enough pressure in your tire you could damage the rim...
How do you not have more subs?
This video helped me a lot! Thank's Finn
Tommy G is literally blowing up burms :DD
