    The concept of raped girl marrying the guilty, is as ridiculous and illogical as handing over the bank to a thief, or like punishing salman khan by judge himself lying infront of his car. Pathetic

    My mom never allowed me to watch such movies. Neither did she watch the crap saas bahu saga herself.
    I think she realised these kind of movies will ultimately seep into my subconscious and therefore become my reality.
    Thanks mum for being woke even in the 90s ❤️

    • @manga626
      @manga626 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My mom was kind of the opposite. She valued chasity & believed that both men & women should only have sex with their spouse. (She even warned my brother that if he ever cheated on his long-time GF, whom we all adore, that she would cut off his ding-dong herself.) Of course, the chasity emphasis was on the girl more & my mom would glorify stories of women destroying their face to protect themselves from rape & call their actions with pride.
      But then, there was this scene in a 1980s Tamil movie by director Visu where a man rapes his colleague. The male lead finds out this & along with the girl's parents beg the guy to marry the girl. The guy, of course, refused it. So, the ML informs the guy's older brother, who is a good guy, & sketches a plan to 'pretend' to marry the raped girl knowing his rapist brother won't stand it. As expected, the rapist brother gets the thali & marries the girl he raped just because he didn't want to see his rape victim in the 'honoray' position of anni/elder sister-in-law. The girl, the girl's parents thank the ML & the older brother for saving their 'honour'.
      I was so bewildered at this scene. But my mom said this will solve nothing as a rapist won't stop & asked if they are going to marry every girl to the rapist & would the older brother have to again pretend to marry his victims. As much as I don't agree with my mom in a lot of things, I was so proud of my mom for that.

Because she was having a drink with another man while he was outside gambling. The woman never cheated on him. Addressing her as characterless was not disturbing only for her as a character but in general also. Wtf were the writers thinking when writing dialogues.

    Blaming the director, script writer, lyricist, actor is the easiest thing one could do. But the fact remains, cinema is mirror to the society. I have seen the most educated and professionally qualified of my friends trolling and ridiculing movies like Pink, Thappad etc, that shows the ugly face of society and subtly insist on bringing a change. In bollywood you can find how they treat Indian minority
    Sikh ÷ loud speaking, alcoholic, etc, senseless, show physical power.
    Christian ÷ Broken hindi speaking, mostly belongs to the mumbai or goa,mostly play nurse role, alcoholic father etc.
    Parasi ÷ slim guy, gujrati speaking, funny, everybody threatening them.
    Buddhist ÷ Broken hindi nepali guy, permanent watchman of Indian film industry.
    But they leave one particular community, bollywood have no courage to show them funny or making fun of that particular community........ They always show them powerful, hardcore religious...And they always show them that they became bad guy/girl just because they were persecuted by the state/system.
