- Oct 2023: In this video, we review both manual and automatic versions of the diesel-powered 2023 Tata Harrier facelift to analyse which variant makes the most sense for buyers in terms of the value it offers for the money you pay.
Tata Harrier is offered in the following variants - Smart, Smart (O), Pure, Pure (O), Pure+, Pure+ S, Adventure, Adventure+, Adventure+ A, Fearless and Fearless+. There’s also cosmetic enhancement in some variants in the form of Dark edition. We also discuss these in this video. Watch the video to find out which variant of the 2023 Harrier facelift Diesel suits your needs best.
The 2023 Harrier is 4605mm long, 1922mm wide and 1718mm tall. Bigger exterior dimensions give a car a stronger road presence. The Harrier has a 2741mm long wheelbase.
The 2023 Tata Harrier has a fuel tank capacity of 50 litres and a boot space measuring 445 litres. The Harrier has a ground clearance of 205mm. The tyre size of the 2023 Harrier base model is 235/65 R17 and the top model rides on 245/55 R19 tyres.
The Tata Harrier is a D1-segment SUV with seating for up to 5 occupants and costs between ₹15.49 lakh and ₹26.44 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tata Harrier SUV is available with 2 engine-transmission combinations. The ex-showroom prices of the 2023 Harrier start from ₹15.49 lakh for the Smart variant with the 2.0L turbo diesel with 6-speed MT. The range tops out at ₹26.44 lakh (ex-showroom) with the Fearless Plus Dark variant, which gets 2.0L turbo diesel with 6-speed TC.
The Tata Harrier only gets a 2.0L turbo Diesel engine, which is available with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed TC transmission. The Harrier turbo Diesel engine makes 170PS of power at 3750rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1750 and 2500rpm.

Finally someone is speaking up against the mad pricing of tata. They have gone mad.
Tata has gone extremely greedy with the facelift. 32L OTR for top varient in Telangana is sick. After checking the car personally last week, and seeing the cost sheet, dropped the idea. Nice looking car with same mechanical as pre facelift does not command almost 3 L premium for top variant. Plus the after sales is a gamble.

Exactly. The difference between harrier and safari should be significant but the they've always kept it minimal making the harrier useless. Harrier should end at max 25L and safari can go up to 30L or above to compete with xuv700.

One recommendation, you always tell if a variant justifies incremental cost. Ranking of each segment is also good, but a value for money rating for each variant would also help.
Difference between top and base is 10 lac. One can get 2BHK interior done for this amount. Wonder what car manufacturers thinking while setting prices

Perfect review 🙏🏽 yes felt same #harrier is damn over priced for it’s features and quality! Also whichever variant we buy we wont get satisfied because of features distribution! Worst strategy by #tata
I think for quality its on point, with highest 5star rating and creature comforts, this makes a good buy. Also a car is not just a financial buy, its also emotional, you need to turn back and see and smile when you park.

Don't wait..I really doubt they are going to bring petrol engine. Thr focus will be on Curvv Petrol and EV, if Curvv response is good they will ditch Harrier petrol. I am really disappointed and I was waiting for petrol since 3 years

Harrier is only diesel and top model goes 31 lac on road, whereas hector plus is in petrol top model price on road is 25 lacs. Please suggest me which one to buy.

After watching videos from this channel I can clearly see that almost all car manufacturers are deliberately not providing must have and good to have features in the lower variants and forcing ppl to go for higher variants as not having such must have and good to have in 15+ lk car is not acceptable

VFM percentage is very helpful to understand. In my opinion, Harrier is over priced and it is preferable to go for 7 seater Safari instead of Harrier. I am considering buying VW Taigun GT Plus DSG. Please let me know your opinion on that.

I doubt people will buy tata cars with front wheel drive without AWD OR 4*4 for 30 lakh rupees for top variant. I believe harrier is very overpriced and soon tata will offer 1-2 lakh discount during year end because of low sales. Tata if following the lead of Jeep and MG for pricing to steep at launch and then give discount at later stage. Tata is forgetting that xuv 700 & Scorpion N offers AW/ 4*4/ RWD options with lesser price.
XUV700 and Scorpio N have Insane Waiting Periods
@@utubefreak7167 Plus before buying a mahindra, one should go to their service centre to see the carnage and get experience from the current buyers, that will totally change your mind even if the car is so good. 25 Lakhs car with 5 lakh's car customer experience is not worth it
@@utubefreak7167Now waiting period is decreased for Mahindra cars and I have checked the pricing at showroom it costs 33 lakhs for top end and that too it is diesel ,petrol option is missing.

Looking at the features and prices it doesn’t justify at all. I feel the fearless variant features should be in adventure variant as per the price tag.

Pure+ seems to be the best VFM variant and that should be your recommendation. Why would you recommend (Pure+S) to a buyer to pay an extra 1.2 Lakhs for a sunroof which we hardly use and for two additional features like auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers. Both these are just a tap away. Agree sunroof has its own cost, but is it worth it? How often people use it? This is where the perceived value should be corrected.

Tata is become more and more idiotic. Making lower variants almost a money drain and higher variants more expensive than the competition while not even giving everything what competition gives (especially more powerful engine with AWD or 4x4). And also going as far as to give only one engine option which also quite old at this point. These guys are becoming more and more disappointing.

Why on earth should the VFM quotient be pivot on base variant when we already know that Tata is incurring losses just to make that specific model accessible and to be able to make that model compete in our shitty price sensitive market. Instead you should consider what value does that car deliver w.r.t. the segment it's there. Please read my comments and try to understand.

Variants explained videos are made to cater to buyers at the end of the funnel, i.e when someone has shortlisted the car that he/she has to buy. Value wrt to other competition is covered in our comparison videos where we compare two cars with each other. That's something that happens before one shortlists a car.
Let's assume you've compared a mid variant (A) of the Harrier with a mid variant (B) of a Hector, and the Hector B turns out to be more value for money.
Now you want to buy the Hector B, but when you reach the showroom, you see that there's an A, a C and a D variant as well. Now you watch this video and realise that Hector C is, in fact, even better on the value front than the Hector B. So you end up buying Hector C although you may have compared Hector B with Harrier A earlier.

Like earlier Harrier only Fearless variant has black roof. Other dark variants has white roof and black interior.

Who even segregated such weird variants with skyrocketing prices and tata made such a huge blunder... First of all known for it's pathetic service and quality issues, no petrol power train and solely depends on diesel, the safety rating that they achieved is something can be boast of, but the way they have priced for such minimalistic features in lower trims will be a huge setback for them

I shortlisted harrier scorpio and hector and was planning to test drive these cars but this pricing by tata is insane. i will now even skip test driving harrier. Im going to test ride hector and scorpio.

Instead of the top model go for Hycross at least fit and finish is better and service is tension free
Tata people gone mad .. that’s y people buy Mahendra Xuv Scorpio thar etc but more over they did not provide petrol engine in harrier/safari . They should learn from Mahendra/mg / hyundai . Even petrol engine do not provide fuel efficiency but people buy because of its reliability low maintenance and strict emissions norms. When they provide petrol engine in tata Harrier/safari Xuv700/scorpio will become legend in there sales because tata people r slow as snail 🐌

Tata messed up Harrier pricing so bad. It was intentionally done to make Safari a value buy. But, Xuv 700 AX7 is cheaper than safari Adv +A. TATA should fire their marketing team

Tata Calls them personas, Personas mean they cater needs of a specific type of buyer.
The basic understanding of Personas in Car is all Personas should be complete with basic needs.
Base variant does not even get a basic music system, rear wipers defogger. These are the most basic requirements for a complete car which is above 17L INR.
Tata Should stop calling them Personas and go back to variants.
Base - You get nothing.
Top - You get everything.
Apart from safety tata cars are so overpriced. So the price distribution is not so fair.
