I have always found the Island of Ib to be very interesting in the World of Ice and fire lore

This is why Dwarves are my favorite fantasy race. They're so giga-chad that GRRM has to include an equivalent in his 'realistic' stories
The dwarves are the best they're one of my favorite fantasy races the second-best are elves in my opinion

I imagine the wood walkers' tactics to be antithetical to the Dothraki (horses can't gallop in formation in the woods, and they would be a lot more vulnerable to arrows). The Dothraki also feared magic, which the wood walkers are claimed to do. I would imagine the only thing the Dothraki could have done was burn down the forest, which isn't as easy as it sounds, especially if people were trying to stop you from doing so. In the end they probably saw it as too costly with not enough gain, much how id imagine they would view the dragon lords from earlier times.

@@brandonmunsen6035 I sure am, I am also still correct. go to a sub-artic forest inhabited with skilled bowmen and try to burn down the forest with your horse and torch. You may even get to the tree line before you look like a porcupine. Historically a group of archers along a prepared Woodline have been one of the most deadly military forces to exists. Ask the French about Battle of Agincourt. This tactic was even used very effectively against the Mongols by the northern Indians. Yeah, but I am the one that is high...what is your excuse?
The Dothraki are definitely a blight on humanity, they often remind me of the others. The others kill everything and leave a frozen wasteland in their wake, the Dothraki kill everything and leave an empty grassland in their wake.
That's not such a bad thing then.

Actually, the Ibbenese have more in common with ethnic groups like the Basques and Ainu then they do with dwarves.
The Basques are a northernly people known for having a language so distinct from its neighbors it cannot be traced to latin, german, slavic, or even any of the Indo-European to tongues. Throughout much of their history they’ve lived in closed off mountain communities that were suspicious of outsiders, yet they were also active whalers and fishermen for centuries. Some historians even speculate they discovered America BEFORE Columbus (though after the Vikings).
The Ainu are an indigenous people who live in northern Japan, their language and culture separate from the Japanese people of the mainland. Japanese travelers in feudal times often commented on their hairiness, so prevalent that even the women were said to have mustaches (note: they didn’t, though they did tattoo their lips in way that made appear as though they did to outsiders.)
If you look at it, the small size of the Ibbenese is due to island dwarfism and isolation from mainland Essos. A small detail, but it's actually a real thing in our world which makes it even more believable even for a fictional world lol.
Not really, name a nation that's an island who's population are dwarfish or shorter then the general population. Going by your statement Ireland should be an Island of dwarves yet our average height is better the the average height of France which is in the mainland.
@@markbrennan212 boi, these Ibbenese have a hard time procreating with other humans meaning they're a totally different species, and they branched out of their common ancestors with the humans. Keep in mind that the different races and species in their world are not extinct like our real life human relatives do.

@@markbrennan212 most of Irish ancestors came from mainland Europe but it'll take THOUSANDS of years for you to evolve into the dwarfism (and that is if you're fullly cut off from contact with others) so your analogy is not accurate. This is a point of view in the evolution of species.
They're also based on Neanderthals . Of which were also very short, stocky were eventually outbred by us. Humans.
So basically the mongols fought and destroyed a dwarf colony and then they retreated into their holds (surprise surprise) which are isolated from everything else. Also the mongols then found bravosi Marco Polo. Who also work like the orcs in Warhammer by all wanting to fight for the biggest and baddest leader. Also the mongols then lost to the phalanx/the pike formations of the Middle Ages 😂😂

@@ThePa1riot True but I think a better way I could've put it is traditional fantasy. I think they're dwarfs for all intent and purpose, I like that George used them in a different way and didn't call them Dwarfs.

a Dragon is the secret under Winterfell. All the hints are there.
Also I think in the books the walkers come south much sooner. They will use Ramseys dead hounds to fight the dire wolfs. Also like the crypt ressurection scene it will be a dragon under winterfell blast out like the pyramids. The foreshadows are in the show it seems.
Or Jon hatches a dragon egg hidden under winterfell.

Reread the chapter, Brans last in CoK I think? Whenever they escape after the Bolton sacking...dragon stuff everywhere.
Summer starts out in the surrounding woods by hearing a ROAR and a CRASH that rumbled under her feet, I think that was the dragon escaping the crypts. Summer sees a winged serpent that breaths fire. Later in the chapter Hodor "makes enough noise to wake a dragon" opening the crypt door.
The boys then exit a stone tower that was burnt inside and had a giant hole in its side where stones spilled OUT into the yard...I think that was the dragon roar and crash summer heard.
Finally on the way out of the yard a "charred man" was found hunched up against the stone wall his fists clenched up in front of his face as if warding off something. I think that man died in the face of a dragon that charred him.
Just seems weird to have summer see 999 accurate things in this narrative, but 1 false thing that she clearly labels a dragon.

@@edwinsoto6932 The north is large and sparsely populated even when half of every house is not out to war...which they are as it happens.
And there is a parallel to support the notion of a dragon staying unseen. No one could spot or report the whereabouts of Drogon, the largest of Danys dragons, for the better part of a year before he descended on the fighting pit suddenly. And Dany had scouts, riders, and all the resources of a queen to search for him.

I wonder how the Ibbinese first came to be. I suspect at least some breeding with the 'Woods Walkers' (Children of the Forest) caused their height difference, but their physique seems much more ape-like. Perhaps Ib is the birthplace of humanity in ASOIAF? And so being an island nation, those that stayed remained as a more ape-like species? And then maybe their numbers dwindled causing a close association with the 'Woods Walkers'.
