PIKE Fishing! In the RIVER OVERSPILL!!

So last weekend we hit the river and blanked badly. It was a long stressful day. But during the day we had some news that pike had ventured into the overspill ponds just down the river, so that’s where we went yesterday.
It was a short session, we started off with a bright swim bait but soon realised the water was very clear so we switched over to something more natural. Sure enough the change paid off. After around an hour of fishing….BANG! We hooked on.
Then shortly after….BANG! Again we hooked on this time onto something bigger. All in all it was a successful two hour trip which doesn’t often happen so we gave thanks to the fishing gods.
