    My favorite athlete of all time and basketball isn't even my favorite sport. He brought so many happy moments watching him with the mavs through junior high and high school, I am now 30 years old and I can't believe he's still playing.

    He changed the Game.... Although the league called him soft at first, Because of his style of play. 20 plus years later he's still playing!!!!!! Success....

    Really. I feel like this is a Mandella effect. I remember being in high school (Graduated in 2007) and I would use the one legged fade away (Dirk is my favorite player of all time), because my dribble skills weren't the best. I remember doing this maybe 2006-2007. I always felt like Dirk was doing it then. Carlise joined the mavs in 2008 and I was in the military by 2008.

    That's also why Ginobili is still playing at a high basketball level, because his eurostep is unique and no one can do it the way he does it.

    • @joaquinborsato8408

    Imagine if Dirk had this move from the beginning and a decent Mavericks front office. They could've been a dynasty like the Spurs were. Maybe even better. And Dirk would've cracked 30k points easily.

    • @williamjackson5421
      @williamjackson5421 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      MarLeo what? No. he didn't score more with it. He didn't become much more efficient off the top of my head. it was just a crunch time move. Dirk's ring is a special ring. Much like Hakeem's first. If you consider Ben Wallace the defensive juggernaut he is, the 04 Pistons and Walton Blazers. A ring from a player/team that wasn't the best player in the era or best team of the era. Regardless of how people view the sport the NBA is a league of dynasties. With the best player usually winning or if theirs a collection of the top tier players they win. Dirk and the others have transition rings between dynasties. Even the Spurs five come between the rise and fall of back to back championship teams.
      Another similarity between Dirks Mavs and Duncan's Spurs is were they put their money. Year in and out they paid to have the best bench in the league instead of the best top heavy roster. Making their basement much better but ceiling not as transcendent.

    he already got the regular fadeaway and one legged fade probably around 2005 mixed with dream shake move. his regular fade was unblockable already and i dont think it is really based on birds moves. he already has it dirk just loves using the regular fade with lil bit of dream shake.

      Top 5. It's really hard to separate all the great players. I'm not familiar with PF's from pre 90's but even if you count only those you'll have: Duncan, Dirk, Malone, Barkley, Garnett. All strong candidates to be top 5 PF's.

    XD I think we can agree that Dirk’s ring has the value of 2. Not only were the Mavs the heavy underdogs against the Big 3 Miami Heat, but they beat the Heat in 6 games, and all doing that while holding LeBron to just 17 ppg (that isn’t me attacking LeBron, stans). True legends, led by one of the best players to play the game.

    You said the only way to realistically block it is to know when he was going to do it. No the only way to block it was just get lucky as hell. Defenders knew it was coming and there was absolutely nothing they could do about it. I believe it was only blocked once in his entire career by Amare Stoudemire who said he was the toughest guy in the league to defend.
