I started the answer with the research work of the professor I was interested to work under and then spoke a bit about the electives. Try to keep this answer as personalized and customized as possible.

Same shit is happening in counter 3 at KOLKATA VAC! I've recently applied like 2 weeks ago and by god's grace I was given 5th chamber and my visa got approved after 5 mins interview and I even got tagged with 221(g) white slip for my F1 VISA! But in chamber 3 the Chinese VO rejected 10 people out of 12... His acceptance rate is very very very low. So I'd suggest being careful and pray God to not get to his chamber!
I did get counter no 34 and faced the Chinese VO . I had the best experience ever ❤️The VO asked me 6-7 questions and ended it today is your lucky day and congratulations have a good day and handed me the white slip. One thing I observed was when i was in the queue one before the person who was interviewed the VO did look at me and then when it was my turn he didnt look at me even for a second. Asked me the same pattern questions and the pace at which he was asking was sooo high! But confidence was the key!

I got my visa approved after 2 rejections. The reason why the VO's reject is because we assume they should ask all relevant questions. In reality they don't have to. The trick I understood after my 2 rejections was, leading the conversation. Q1. Which university are you going to? (Note that western Michigan university is not a great university at all) Ans: I am going to western Michigan university to do my MBA. I was working for my family business and felt that an MBA will help me bring the knowledge of the American Business scene into our business, so i chose this course. Q2. What kind of business do your family have?(notice how the conversation changed from the college to the business now) Ans: We are distributors of product xyz and we have a turnover of abc. Q3. Have you taken out a loan?(the conversation is now about how i'm funding) Ans: No. my parents are funding my education and stay at USA. Thank You, Your Visa is approved. There are 4 different criteria that VO's consider. 1. Financing 2. Whether the University is good enough. 3. Your plans to after the course. 4. Family. Note that it is your job to tell the VO about all these information not the VO's job to extract it from you. Always answer your questions in 2 to 3 sentences. Worst answers are just one word answers. Or one word answers turned into a sentence. [Please take my advice only as a suggestion. I am sharing my experience to help others.] Best Wishes

All I would suggest is most of the time 1st question will be why this university. Try to give accurate answer. Ie., How is ur background related to that university or that course. If u just say that the university has good curriculum and ranking.. that's not going to be enough. If you say that then they will say other universities are also good.. then u will be packed.. So try to give relevant answer and little unique answer.

This is an American visa officer, not a ‘Chinese’ visa officer, as it’s an American consulate and visa ifficers are American citizens. The officer’s ethnic origins may be oriental (Chinesr, Korean, Taiwanese, Japanese,…) but how is that relevant? This shows a very racist view by Indians based on appearances! Deal with him as you would with any other American citizen visa officer, and yes they do come in all flavors but such is the fabric of America.

OMG 😱 He was the one who rejected my visa😢😢😢 Because of him my life has become bad. I came to India to get my visa stamped for second time. He made me sit on the chair and I kept waiting. More appropriate would be "Chinese American VO" . These are extremely tiny acts of racism. Your firm is responsible for grooming youngsters and prepare them how to behave when abroad. I expect finer refinement in your way of presenting information. Targeting "a particular VO" for that seems so unfair, there maybe so many "Chinese American VO"s across embassies. Unless you know their name it's not a good idea to generalize. They have their own reasons for rejecting certain people and sometimes you are just unlucky I guess.

I also got rejected yesterday and todayi filled ds160 again and paid visa fees again. I simply wrote that i was handed 214b rejectionfor F1 student visa application .
My interview was on August 1st at Mumbai consulate and my visa got approved at counter no. 27 ( Young lady officer). I entered the consulate at 11:15am and I gave the interview at around 1:15pm . It was a quite big line. In those 2 hours most of the time I was watching the Chinese officer. But honestly, I saw 5 to 6 students got approved by the Chinese officer. I was also surprised that he's approving the visa's. But literally he was asking many questions, atleast for 5 mins. And who ever was answer accurately then he was approving there visa's.
All I would suggest is most of the time 1st question will be why this university. Try to give accurate answer. Ie., How is ur background related to that university or that course. If u just say that the university has good curriculum and ranking.. that's not going to be enough.
If you say that then they will say other universities are also good.. then u will be packed..
So try to give relevant answer and little unique answer.
In us they call such people Asian. Are you sure he is Chinese? May be Korean?
But I heard he was transferred to Delhi. Can anyone confirm?

This scam officer is in mumbai counter 31 now(Apr 24 2023). He literally rejected every student. He'll not be ready to listen and he gives us a negative facial cunning expression.

I got my visa approved from the same Chinese American officer. He is actually really nice and not at all the way he is described by Yash. He rejects people with low rank uni and weak English speaking skills. He judges you by looking at the i-20 and your confidence.
If you’re going for Bachelors. Stick to your I-20 for answers.

I was on counter no. 29. My visa interview was on 4 days ago. my visa got approved. I don't know about the rejects but the applicant before me also got an approval.
I applicant before me graduated in 2012. Got married moved to US. Her husband is working there and she worked for 3 year and since then she is a house wife. She was giving really long answers.
I have always heard the answers to be short and precise.
And also as her husband studied and later worked there, now she will also do the same, meaning can be a potential immigrant. I thought she might get rejected but she got approved.
And when my turn she asked 5-6 questions. I fumbled while answering. I was nervous and it can be seen while answering. My interview took a minute and then it took 2 mins to type all the things I said. I got approved.

This is an American visa officer, not a ‘Chinese’ visa officer, as it’s an American consulate and visa ifficers are American citizens. The officer’s ethnic origins may be oriental (Chinesr, Korean, Taiwanese, Japanese,…) but how is that relevant? This shows a very racist view by Indians based on appearances! Deal with him as you would with any other American citizen visa officer, and yes they do come in all flavors but such is the fabric of America.

He made me sit on the chair and I kept waiting. Embassy was empty and the police guards also became worried about why I was sitting for so long.

Tell me … when it is the university who collect ur documents and check ur education qualifications, funds, recommendation letter. Above that, we have to get our education verified from WES then provide IELTS exam results. After that, university provides I-20. Then…. What for they keep visa interviews????

Because, that Chinese looking person is actually an American. There are Indian origin people too there, but they are not Indians, but Americans.

Honestly the title of the video and they way it is presented is quite disappointing. I get the point that you want to help the students with the optimum way to tackle his questions and get the visa approved. But calling him "Chinese VO" is straight off offensive. More appropriate would be "Chinese American VO" . These are extremely tiny acts of racism. Your firm is responsible for grooming youngsters and prepare them how to behave when abroad. I expect finer refinement in your way of presenting information.
Targeting "a particular VO" for that seems so unfair, there maybe so many "Chinese American VO"s across embassies. Unless you know their name it's not a good idea to generalize. They have their own reasons for rejecting certain people and sometimes you are just unlucky I guess.
