    I want a man who makes a lot of money, but he needs to spend plenty of time with me. I want a man who is physically fit but thinks I'm beautiful after I gain 40 pounds. I want a guy who isn't afraid to be vulnerable even though he knows I'll use his vulnerability against him in the future. He needs to be an independent thinker who lets me make all the decisions. He needs to be attractive but restrain himself when my girlfriends hit on him. On the other hand, if I cheat on him he needs to ask himself what he did wrong to make me cheat.

    "I wasn't sacrificing what I wanted for the relationship. And I think that's key."
    Okay. As someone who's been successfully and happily married for 30 years, I have to say that you're going to have to sacrifice your personal wants for the relationship. What's key is that you're not the ONLY ONE who's doing the sacrificing.
    Both my husband and I have given 100% every step of the way. Sometimes he has to sacrifice for me - but I've always been willing to sacrifice for him. (And I've given up my career, my college education, my home, and my friends to support his career. It really has been mutual.) The problem is when it's only one way. You can't make it through life with the same person without some give.
    What drags people down is when one person is giving and giving and giving and the other person just expects it as their due. That's a problem.

    • @BetterBachelor
      @BetterBachelor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      True and well said. Unfortunately modern times have a lot of both men and women too selfish for that.

    • @vociferonheraldofthewinter2284
      @vociferonheraldofthewinter2284 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@BetterBachelor That is true. And I also think it's a problem that people are waiting so long to make a commitment. When two people have been growing together for decades, the couple becomes set in *their* ways. Then a natural stability can happen.
      But if somebody is looking at 45, they actually have to be more selective to find someone truly compatible. As we get older, we become much more set in our ways and it's much more difficult to give. We're just less flexible overall.
      Part of this is just human nature, but our modern culture is making that so much worse for everyone.

    • @brandonriggle3860
      @brandonriggle3860 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I absolutely love this comment. I've been on the end of sacrificing for the other and finally noticed they weren't doing that for me. Relationships require effort and sacrifice, and I feel so many women these days are told to "never settle" and thats taken as everything is perfect as you wanted it. Like a constant honeymoon phase. As soon as something goes wrong, boom you're out. Expectations are insanely high and it's unrealistic.

    • @vociferonheraldofthewinter2284
      @vociferonheraldofthewinter2284 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@brandonriggle3860 You're so right, Brandon.
      Women are encouraged to be perpetual children. What 8really* pisses me off is that women are told not to even sacrifice for their kids.
      So you get these vulnerable little, developing people and mom things that she's the center of the universe. She treats the kids like their pets. Pisses me off.
      According to modern feminism, women shouldn't sacrifice for love, for kids, or even for their own *long term* happiness. Everything is to give way to their momentary wants.
      It's not a mature approach to life. And it won't pay off the way they want it to.

    "I'd rather be on my own than with someone I don't love deeply" I wish she, and many others like her, would get it through their heads that they don't actually love at all. They love the idea of the person they chase and then gets dumped by, they don't love the person at all. They love the "feels" they get in the beginning but if she were ever to actually get married to her "amazing partner" she would try to change him until she is no longer interested or complain about the very qualities (bad boy) that she loved the idea of and then she would tear him apart and move on.

    I am one of those 20k women subs. Thank God, even though I am a millenial I got married, I got the kids, stay at home mom, the works. But it wasn't easy to get here because everyone, starting with my parents, was against it. Without taking away the importance of personal responsability, I hope this will help understand part of why so many women are so crazy, lost and confused.
    Women by nature aim to please. Both my parents are progressives. The urban elite you might call them, or technocrats. Both are highly educated, career etc. As I am their only child they pushed me to study and be a strong and independent woman. Which I did to get them off my back. As soon as I graduated college and got my Master's Degree I got maried and they never forgave me for it. I have no intention of building a career for myself, at least not while my kids are still in school, and they just don't accept that. All my childhood friends, as well as friends I made in college, who are women and come from a simmilar background did listen to their parents, became successful professionals, but now in their 30s they are lonely, childless and miserable. I just had the courage to go my own way and do my own thing and I am very happy, still knowing that my parents consider me a failure and no matter how much I try to make them see my side of things they just don't see it the way I do.
    Now, as the mother of only boys, I know I have my work cut out for me to make them understand female nature and the crazy dinamics of modern dating and relationships.

    Look this really isn't that hard. A man just needs to be:
    1) Highly successful and hardworking but have plenty of time for me whenever I need or want him around
    2) He needs to be mysterious because tingles but be completely open and honest because of my insecurities
    3) He needs to be desperately wanted by every other woman on Earth yet only interested in me
    4) He needs to be highly athletic and in great shape but be happy taking me out to eat junk food whenever I want nor care about my obesity
    5) He needs to be highly educated and speak 3 languages fluently even if I have a worthless degree in Human services and only speak English and that not very well
    6) He needs to hate Trump and be a very liberal "tax the rich to death" kind of person yet have a huge nest egg and lots of money to spend on me
    7) He needs to love children especially *my* children that I had with Tyrone and Chad before I met him
    8) He needs to step up and "be a man" yet let me completely dominate the relationship and make all decisions about every aspect of our life together
    9) He needs to be an ardent feminist yet be very manly and not a soy boy
    10) He needs to understand that yes means 'yes' and no means "no' except when they don't or when/if I change my mind later
    11) He needs to be very responsible with money, be completely debt free, and have no problem with my 6 figures of student loan debt, car debt, and credit card debt
    12) He needs to understand that we've all had prior experiences - so he cannot mind my children from other baby daddy's but if he's got a child support on him then it's instant disqualification
    So given all of the above plus the 6'4 - 6'8 height requirement, penile 7 inches or more requirement, and of course a full head of hair what's the problem? I seriously cannot understand why these women are having any issues finding men. Obviously a man is to blame for this... somewhere.

    I was married for 18 years and my divorce went final in October of 2019. As a newly single man in his early 40's I have had to totally re-educate myself when it comes to women. What has surprised me the most is how delusional these modern women are. I tried a couple of dating apps mostly out of curiosity and what I found was that the younger girls are essentially selling their bodies to the highest bidder and the older ones are looking for a simp to marry them. How in the hell are you in your late 30's or even into your 40's talking about "I'm looking for my soulmate" or "I'm looking to start a family one day." One day?? So what have you been doing all of these years? You had your chance to snag plenty of "good men" in your prime but you chose to ride the carousel instead. Now you're very desperate and it shows. It's very sad to see what has happened to American women particularly.

They are never "your girl", it's just your turn. You are simp number 7 in her phone. No chance to gain some meaningful and deeper status. The "girl next door" doesn't exist anymore. Even a solid 6/10 thinks that you have to be a fitness model with a Porsche because she is the price lol

      If so, don't let it be a surprise if she returns and exclaims you were the best thing in her life and she'll do anything to get you back. Some do return and others realize it's futile to return to the scene of the marriage slaughter. That shouldn't normally happen for at least another year.
      If you meet someone who is divorced, just remember that she knows how and has practice in destroying a marriage rather than staying happily married. Check out anything she says. Understand that any problems she has she probably created and will recreate, e.g. money, drugs, addictions, sexual promiscuity, weight, employment, ex's, ex's kids, etc.. You can't fix any of that.
      The most important thing is that no marriage can work without the wife respecting her husband all the time.

    Profile of the day - tattoos. My daughter started getting stupid tattoos so I took her to a few charity fundraiser type events held by rich people that live at the beach. Dress was informal (rich people informal) so the women had exposed arms, open back and modest necklines. I asked my daughter to point out to me how many of the fantastically rich women around her had tattoos. Answer - none. Elite wealthy men (outside of those that work in entertainment) do not ever marry women with tattoos. I've had trust fund babies tell me that their inheritance was contingent, in part, on not having any tattoos.
    This 25 year old girl in the profile of the day is gonna have a difficult time going forward.

    25 year olds are just starting out in life, and are not financially solvent.
    When I was 25, my mother delighted in telling me about the children of her friends who had just turned 18, and bought a house; or how they saved every penny given to them since birth, started investing at 12, and were financially independent at 17. What made me laugh was all of them getting married, and losing all of it to a divorce a few years later.

      I had it pretty good at 25, by 27 I had lost most of it. House, car, furnishings, it was the first time I lost everything. Those are the times you learn the most.

      @@xerxes8632 These kids I knew all married at 18 to 20 years old. Had train wreck, broke ass older partners, and were too young to know how to defend themselves. Most partners weren't that much older, 2-3 years, but they were canny enough to get what they actually wanted. One poor SOB married a 32 year old woman when he was 19. She had 3 kids with no father(s). He adopted all of them. She divorced him two years later taking the house, cars, and the financial portfolio he had been building for years to support "his" kids, and he was stuck paying alimony and child support.
      And my mother wondered why I didn't date back then.
