I wondered how long the ecoder will last in the Quad 6 Pro's ? I know Alinco used something similar on their DX - 70 Line, and they all became a pain over time ! Word to the wise, it may be best to use the up down buttons on the microphone ?
Yes. I did actually buy one from solarcon and I used that aluminum ring from the kit and I attached my treaded rods to it. Hard to tell if it makes any difference or not. I did see small difference with swr chnage when I completely isolated antenna from the mast. All my friends from Europe telling me that when they use 1/2 wave with ground planes antenna has to be isolated from must and groundplane has to be 90 degree. Bs or snake oil I have no clue. Didn't do to much digin in. One of this days when I catch up with my house projects I make video with both 90 and 45 degree ground plane and measure values with antenna analyzer. How's going up there, Any projects. Skip is really low in my area.
@@myszaca it’s going well up here this summer. I’ll head back to AZ mid September. Conditions this summer pretty much suck 😂 yesterday I had a pipeline to HI & Jamaica and that was it all day long ! ground plane is about ERP not SWR. It should assist in reaching out more effectively. There’s some interesting uTube videos regarding ERP and ground plane function out there. After using one on my Antron 99 for a while I ordered a gpkt for my Max 2000 as well that I’ll add when I return home this fall. I’ll try it both ways, but I suspect it’ll help. Videos I’ve seen indicate that radials should be roughly 135 degrees droop from vertical for maximum efficiency. It’s all speculative, but there’s guys a lot smarter than me voicing some very educated & experienced opinions. I’ve seen some videos indicating radials should be 1/4 wave length long ? It’s all a giant experiment about what works for YOU ! Good luck 👍 73s Hopefully one of these days we’ll connect on DX 😎
My biggest problem, is finding good technicians that are near me, all the ones that I used to no around here are all passed on😢 and the smaller it gets the harder it is for me to even troubleshoot
Put both in reception SSB and we will see if the “pro” perform better than the previous version, apart from the soecs, different design and more transmit watts.
The only thing sad about this CRT SS is the encoder quality, that I had to replace two times in two years(40€ each), and I only use the rig at weekends
@@myszaca The replacement was made by a technician from the local store, using original encoders. He also said that we shouldn't use wider knobs, as it puts more effort on the encoder.
Thanks for letting us see that. Interesting.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the video, 73

I've had my Anytone 6666pro about 4 days now. doesn't come with programming cable and the Jumper is to unlock 15 meters
In Anytone AT-6666PRO, or at least in Raddiodity QT80, CW keyer connects to the mic. Maybe it works only with stright keys ??
NRC and 20 more watts of power are major improvements
Cool video
Did that ss9900 (not pro) datacable work in at-6666 pro?
Thanks 👍
Welcome 👍
Will the President DigiMic work on the quad 6
I like the "VFO" knob you put on the older version. Any idea where I could buy this knob?
Can't buy it unfortunately. I printed it with 3D printer. 73's
I was here to ask the same question.

Did you ever add the ground plane kit to your Antron 99 ? 73s 👍

@@myszaca Im not sure I understand the mast isolation thing. The mast helps with the ground plane and actual grounding right ? 🤔
@@UDX-3030 yeah, for sure it is experimental. If you got some good video links, send me some in hear. Good luck out there and 73's

Beacon sub-band on 10 metres?

My CRT ss 9900 does not have a tuning knob like the 9900 you have. It has a tuning knob like the Anytone quad 6 pro.
Yeah I printed that one with 3D printer. Not the best looking but it was fun project to do. 73's

Yeah, also it's to stiff for me. Did you put new one with les tension ??

…but that doesn’t work for me, because I don’t have another knob, just the original one.
