if you look closely you can hear him whispering to his tires for a night out

His raw speed is never talked about unlike Leclerc’s or Verstappen but he is easily up there with those

As soon as he can stop making mistakes frequently, he'll be a champion. He's intelligent, and he has a raw speed that you only see from guys like Max and Chuck.

The one I am waiting for!! George has always been a good tire manager, it is just.. having Lewis Hamilton as his teammate made him look bad.

  • @joshd171294

His tyre management was great last race but in general his race pace is usually always worse than his teammate. The oversteery setup itself is not something he coped with better its more that Hamilton’s driving style led to snaps of oversteer (induced oversteer) which in turn meant the tyres overheated in qualy which led to less grip

    • @syntheovaldy5173

is induced oversteer throttle "blips" ?

@@syntheovaldy5173 not necessarily. In general he loves to trail brake which is extremely effective in the vast majority of cars but not this particular one. For these cars that often leads to snaps of oversteer even if the car isn’t set up on the nose

@joshd171294 I'm not sure I agree with you, George and lewis have been extremely closely matched since 2023. It was clear that George trailed Lewis by about 2-3 tenths per lap in race pace in 2022, but he has worked a lot on his race pace since then and has shown in multiple races that he can handle lewis and even beat him. There are some instances where I think lewis still has the upper hand, such as generating temperature in used tyres after a safety car and being quicker right when it starts raining. Alltough the last one is definitely up for debate since it is always easier to be behind someone in that situation rather than arriving to a corner and having no clue how much grip there is. Overall there's basically nothing in between them and regardless of which stat you look at they are the closest pairing on the grid. Lewis has always been known for his incredible pace, for George to match him and at times be quicker deserves credit in my opinion.

@@randomchicken0490 from following it very closely there is still quite a big difference especially on the medium tyre. A lot of the times where Hamilton finishes behind is where he’s qualified way too far back

@@sergeantsupreme4395 The Spanish gp this year is a good example. He goes too fast on his outlaps and burns up his tyres. That's why lewis has better race pace. Remember during hungary max's engineer saying something about 'gentle introduction'? This is what he's referring to. The best example for me is Singapore 2023. Remember that last stint where mercedes pit both their drivers and sainz pulled off that genius Drs defence with norris? I'm pretty sure george was like 2 seconds quicker on his outlap than lewis on his (probably less) and by the end of the stint lewis was half a second to a second a lap quicker. George ended up holding him up in the end and then binning it in the wall. I'm not slandering george though he's one of the best on the grid and he's a future world champ. I rate him as the 3rd best on the grid right now probably.

I feel like George is just a worse version of Max tbh. Less subtle than Max; longer corners; more mistakes which goes a bit hand in hand with the other 2; and probably just a tad slower. Not to mention less adaptable; worse in wet weather etc.
