What scares you about that? I'm more scared of my ID and all my money being stolen by scammers bank failures and government clods. Does anyone on these sites really understand what blockchain technology is? Its an indelible ledger. That means an accounting system that can never be altered by anyone - not governments or scammers. Its the best way to protect your money and ID that has ever been devised.

Your health records, social credit score, carbon limits, your banking info, tracking everything you buy, etc. They can basically turn you on or off from society if you aren't a perfect citizen, freeze your bank accts, ban you from internet, freeze you out if you don't take your shots, etc. This is full control of a society, not just a safe way to have your ID.
@seangrimes1559 well, as government has proved time and time again, they do not respect privacy. So with a digital ID on the blockchain, everyone could know your personal info. And mix it with a social credit system, and everyone will know if you bought an item the government decided was bad, or vaccination status, or if you've been a bad boy. Blockchain is great in a perfect world, but in a world of tyrannical government, it can be pretty scary

I've been following the crypto evolution story for about eight years now. The tokenization of all assets (including stocks and real estate, art, etc. ) has been the point of ETH and the creation of smart contract methodology since its inception. Why are you mentioning this like its a nefarious new development? This was the main idea from the get-go.

Exactly! You can't expect large corporations such as BlackRock not to see the massive opportunity with crypto and blockchain and not want a large piece of the pie. This is a good thing for crypto in general, as it will lead to further adoption by tradfi and older normie retail investors.

@freakymeltdown1 Judeo-Blackrock will go where the money is, and obviously TRY to control it. It's much more likely they could control a non-Bitcoin project rather than Bitcoin itself. And keep in mind, the community decides what chains to support. If we decide to isolate Blackrock, we just stop supporting their chain; whether that's HBAR, ETH, SOL, or whatever. Bitcoin has BY FAR the strongest, most-decentralized network effect in crypto. Ppl always forget the origins and political philosophy behind the Bitcoin white paper. Decentralization is extremely important, and completely ignored by the new smart-contract oriented chains. This does make them more vulnerable to the legacy financial system corruption that we are precisely trying to disrupt.

Ethereum is the founder of smart contract and EVM. Ether deserve it's status even if it cannot actually handle RWA tokenization. News just broke, Blackrock is tokenizing their fund on Hedera. In my opinion, Ethereum is more of a distraction while they are quietly building on the new generation chain.
