Personally, post-all the patches, I find it really fun to play, I like the improved parkour and enjoy how combat's a bit more of a punishment for getting caught, and I really like how no matter what combo of clothing you wear, you still look like an Assassin, and last but not least I love how the game handles the actual target missions. But good god damn that story is boring. I don't care about Arno/Elise, I wanted a bigger focus on the actual Revolution and the Assassin/Templar struggle through it.

AC Unity has some particular fashion to me (especially on a technical level), it's one of the very few ACs that I played more than once. Love the french revolution and the weaponry of those times btw. And the weirdest part is that I'm Italian, lol
It's been a while since I played AC Unity. I never enjoyed it as much as AC III or Rogue (yes, I know. Not the favorites of many gamers) but I kinda liked it back then.
Fun fact: a bunch of french politicians said this game was awful for portraying Robespierre (the guy you shoot in the face) in a bad light You know The guy behind why its called the Reign of Terror? The paranoid schizophrenic that caused the deaths of tens of thousands by execution alone? The one who tried to make an actual cult around himself and tried to change the calendar and how we tell time FOR NO REASON? The madman that even the other revolutionaries turned on when they realized just how far gone he was? Mr "i botched my suicide so badly that this game chose to portray it as someone committing righteous vengeance on my face"? THAT GUY Ya. They called him a "symbol of democracy" when really hes the 2nd worst dictator to ever rule over france. Hitler was the only one who was worse
He was a lot more complex than that, I can see why they don’t like his portrayal. One side you had a man who was very progressive for the time, being anti slavery, wanted a more rights for the peasants when they had no political voice and on the other hand he was a ruthless leader that had no problem with mass execution of his enemies and tried to diefy himself Someone like that would make a very interesting character especially in an Assassin creed game, could maybe be done as a darker reflection on the assassins ideas of liberty and freedom as someone who has taken it to far into chaos. Would be someone like like Dutch Van De Linde in RDR2. But instead he’s portrayed as a silly Disney villain with the complexity of a donut

Regardless if you were for the revolution or not. it wasn’t just the jacobins it was other fanatical factions of all ends striving for power by any means which had lead to a few assassination attempts on his life , kind of understanding to a degree that he became so crazy and paranoid in the end. I will say on a serious note that I think Unity gets something of a bad wrap from this community and it deserves more praise than it gets. Paris is a beautiful and meticulously designed city, the Paris stories are fun, the combat actually forced you to be stealthy like an Assassin rather than LT+X your way out of everything, the parkour was visually stunning and it overall captured the aesthetic of Revolutionary Paris really well. The downside of course is that the story is absolute piss for a whole variety of reasons. In addition to that, the game was clearly built for being a co-op experience so the gameplay elements feel nerfed to try and accommodate that, the customisation features while cool and provide a lot of options still feels needless in a game like this and far too RPG like for this franchise, the return of AC1 style assassinations is hampered by the fact that there’s little to no investigations, the gameplay is janky/wonky to put it mildly and the parkour, while visually impressive, doesn’t have the same mastery of control that prior games had and opts for cool chases over other considerations. For me, the story and Arno being a chore to play through was the worst as this is a time period begging for complex discussions on philosophy and the nature of man, not a poorly done love story, especially since there was no resolution with Arno’s father’s murder. On the other hand, the game does offer enough that I see it as a worthwhile experience and not a game I’d describe as awful like later instalments. I think Unity could be best described as overambitious. It wanted to accomplish too much in one title rather than pacing itself more and if it had limited itself, it could have had a cool combo of a return to stealth based mechanics combined with a gorgeous open world and a potentially great story to match. As it is, it stands as the last chance Ubi had to fix the mistakes in their game design before they dug their heels in and dug the grave of this franchise at the same time.
Here's some ideas for Assassin's Creed settings I came up with. - China(Medieval) - Japan(Boshin War) - Mongolia(13-14th century) - Vietnam (late 18th-early 19th century) - Prussia(1870s) - Norse follow-up (Iceland and Sweden, or Norse in Spain or Georgia in 9-10th century) - Prussian or Livonian Crusades) - Frisia(8th century) - Persia(10-11th century) I feel Mongolia has a strong draw to it since it's such an interesting setting and a unique point in time. Also it could nicely tie into Altair's life and Revelations. China also has a good foundation with Yun, and it'd give them one last time to have Ezio in the story. We could talk to him at the beginning of the game(similar to Embers), and at the end of the game we go back to Italy to pay our respects to him once we learn of his passing. Persia is obviously a good choice with it's connections AC1 and Basim. The Prussian and Livonian Crusades are very unique periods. And in both cases the Prussians and Livonians had to fight off multiple foreign powers who sought to conquer them. So some good story could be built on that. Japan's Boshin War is the most modern one, but I feel it could work due to the complexity of the era, and the dynamic between the Shogunate, and the insurgent Imperial faction. Frisia I feel would be unique, since it's a region rarely ever talked about, let alone shown in media or gaming mediums. In that time period the Frisians were fighting off the Franks(who would become the Carolingian Empire who would become the HRE). Vietnam during this period had a somewhat divided Kingdom, and during conflicts of this period, Vietnamese pirates were very influential in the battles. And lastly a Norse based follow-up game. Valhalla did some things well, but not enough to my mind. It was a good step to getting things on the right track though. As well their already was a great foundation for a Norse Assassin, the story of Thorvald Hjaltason, an Icelandic skald and Assassin. It would be easier to adapt his story since it is mentioned in an existing novel, and it would let us see actual Norselands, and the complex conflicts that took place within them. In Thorvald's case, he was active in Sweden with the Swedish Brotherhood, and had many captivating adventures. As well there are some prime choices for DLCs like the Norse involvement in Iberia during it's Islamic period, and the expeditions of Ingvar-the Far travelled, a famous Norse explorer whose travels among other things, lead his band to be involved in the Georgian Civil War which involved the Byzantine Empire. I feel the Thorvald game and the Vietnam game could be great successors to Black Flag. We should have gotten a Norse style Black Flag experience in Valhalla, and Thorvald being a skald would be suited to it since many skalds were also explorers(and that exploratory essence would pair well with the aforementioned Ingvar expeditions). As for Vietnam, imagine being a Vietnamese pirate, exploring the seas of Asia. The Asian pirate age is VERY underrated, with great pirates in Vietnam, Indonesia Japan and China(one of the greatest pirates in Chinese history was a woman too). Imagine meeting them in the seas, making port on the coast of Vietnam, in Java, or Singapore. It'd be great.
If Ubisoft returned to this type of style of parkour and stealth for their next game It would be a Big Win 🏆 maybe change the combat a bit but im just really tired of climbing mountains all the time in the last 3 games
Yeah, Ubisoft has always had a major issue with open worlds which has become more prevalent as the AC series has continued: a barren open world. They have these massive open worlds filled with pointless locations that contain equally pointless collectables. Don't get me wrong, the worlds *look* nice, but there's just nothing substantial to do in them. They create these systems that require a lot of money/resources to expand to create a grind and bolster their MTXs sales. I'd much rather go the Skyrim route and have loads of side-quests. This way, it feels like the world is alive. It feels like the world would keep evolving if you weren't there. Instead, Ubisoft goes for style instead of substance. You've got open worlds, which becomes a bore to explore, and collectables which feel more like chores. I liked Unity because, despite the problems I mentioned being featured heavily in this game, the side quests/heists/loads of random NPCs made this world feel alive. The free-form missions made me specialize my character. I suddenly had to deliberate if I wanted to go full-combat, or full-stealth, or somewhere in between. Did I want to play a ranged sniper with a musket, an expert duelist, or a brute with a battle axe? The playstyle possibilities were so liberating. Stealth and parkour were at their peak in this game. Social stealth seemed less like a gimmick, like how it is in Valhalla, and more like something you'd actually use to get close to your target. Sneaking felt necessary because combat was difficult. Parkour was pretty flashy but still felt somewhat realistic. All in all, this is my favorite Assassin's Creed game to actually feel like an Assassin instead of a brawler.
05:44 - It really is, because they showed you back in AC2 that Napoleon had the apple. So it was great that they actually cared about stuff like this, back than.
I agree with pretty much everything in this video, though the expensive gear didn't bother me much when I played it due to the crazy amounts of money you can get from a fully renovated cafe theatre.
I played this game earlier this month and it was amazing. I hadn’t play it ever since it came out and I was super young so everything just flew over my head and I don’t remember much. But now listening to the story, really experiencing the gameplay i was in awe. I played it back on my ps4 back then and now I’ve upgraded to a pc with 3070 ti and i was playing max setting 2K with 100+ fps. The game was sooo smooth and it just made gameplay even better. I just wish the parkour didn’t hold your hand so much. It was hard to jump from ledge to ledge if you’re hanging on to something, sometimes it wouldn’t even let you which was annoying. And I did see some animation glitches but nothing too gamebreaking. I just with Ubisoft made a true unity sequel with the exact same gameplay and engine. Obviously improved though to dramatically reduce the amount of glitches, animations, less micro transactions for gear, 2 more dlc than unity, improved parkour. And it would be extremely huge if they made the main campaign co-op. At least with one other person would be magnificent. If ubisoft released a game like that many more people would love them again.
Story could've been sooo good being linked back to AC Rogue which was underrated. Hunting down an old Shay Cormac and ACTUALLY following the story of assassin's. So much potential thrown out the window and replaced with a disengaging, beyond boring love story with more to do with Templars than Assassins
AC Unity is one of my favourites AC games, which is one of my favourite gaming franchises. After playing rdr2 however, I went back for a new save and it felt unplayable and boring.
@@pascalg16 other way around lmaoo. Rockstar games have infinitely more quality. Nothing can even come close to the immersion and the worlds in the GTA franchise. Ubishit games are low quality garbage pumped out yearly with horrible NPCs, boring worlds, not immersive, terrible dialogue and animations, hell no. Just no. AC can be fun but it cannot compare to rockstar.
Honestly, my biggest thing with AC Unity was that it really didn’t make you feel like you emerge in Paris. Compare it to the Ezio games where people actually sounded Italian as an example. Honestly, most NPCs in Unity could be switched into Syndicate set in London and you probably wouldn’t notice.
I've been playing this one recently too! I like it and for a while I was thinking it was going to be my favourite but honestly the more i play the lower it falls in my rankings. Heres my thoughts. The parkour is great... but more useless than ever. There is almost no point to ever use it as its slower than traveling by ground and enemies are incompetent at chasing. I've only once seen an enemy climb a building but turning a corner is more than enough to lose them anyway. I find myself using parkour less than any other AC game and theres just no good excuse to use it except when you absolutely need to... theres just nothing to do up there, all the crowd events are ground floor and collectables usually are easier to access from the ground too plus enemies just dont really use the roof. I'd kill for rooftop chases with thieves or ducking in and out of buildings in a chase with guards or whatever but thats just not here. The story is dissapointing coming from that strong start where arno changes from a dashing rogue type to what felt like a more boring connor, if that makes sense. The chemistry dissapears along with Arno's personality. They managed to make the french revolution feel boring as well and I cant say any of the supporting cast or even villains were written in a fun way besides the king of rats who dies in minutes after being introduced. Then you have the stealth, I swear enemies see you so much faster than other entries, this makes climbing a pain in stealth sections so you can deal with the tedium of verticality... or just stick to the ground and stick with that tedium instead. Combat on top of that is pretty unsatisfying, and sometimes broke (couldnt swing or defend against enemies, got to be a serious problem toward the end game). Weapons felt... worse than other games. You cant even equip the hidden blades, theyre only used in stealth takedowns and because of this holding the attack button to run into a stealth takedown like in old games actually just unsheates your weapon here instantly breaking stealth making stealth kills more annoying to get reliably (biggest issue was double take downs were really finnicky to achieve here compared to other games) Missions are also boring in general, its hard to tell apart the high quality missions from the low quality ones before you try them, with a lot just being "go here and kill this guy who has like 2 guards". I felt aimless so many times in the game and because of the lack of openworld content (rooftops are empty, roads just have incredibly easy (usually 1 click to beat) "Crowd events", and all the missions i was getting were the boring and easy kind, it just wasnt a great experience. I really liked the detective mysteries but i gotta say they were kinda low effort. I did 3 and all 3 had the guilty person be the obviously guilty one but without any solid evidence. There were no aha moments or breakthrough evidence, just stacking on to the "this guy obviously did it", and in the end its just a guess. Like in one theres a priest dead and theres one priest who was obsessed with nostradomus and was weird... you got a bunch of clues involving how this crime matched up with a nostradomus prediction and everything and i was expecting some kind of twist or for any of the clues to mean anything but after collecting all the evidence there isnt anything tying the killer to the crime aside from the nostradomus thing. Its like if in a murder mystery someone was stabbed with a sword and the lead suspect was a fencer and it was literally just the fencer... and they spent half the episode just talking about how the fencer probably did it then just decide the fencer did it without any proof. This was my experience with the detective mysteries so far. Hopefully its not all of them, but this was my experience Altogether it felt like a game that did parkour and world design very well but failed on motivations and moment to moment action
Every time i see a suggestion video about revisiting/replaying ACU, i watch it! ACU is one of the game i do not uninstall. I even have a yt video "acu swordfight is elegant". You got me subs here 😁 Thanks!
I replayed this game a few months ago with the audio set to French, subtitles in English. Unfortunately this means Bishop will be speaking French as well, but still helps greatly with the immersion. Still doesn't excuse what Ubisoft did with the accents in English, but makes it possible to ignore it at least
I don't think it's wrong to still play AC, I'm a victim of sexual assault and will continue to condemn ubisoft but I also know there're a lot of innocent people being got in the crossfire who just want their wages. It's tricky and I fully respect anyone who doesn't want to play their games anymore, I'm regularly new to AC so I'm struggling to let go so soon.
Unity is a cracking ride now and then. Still far from a great Assassin's Creed in terms of story, but after Odyssey and Valhalla, it's really really fun
As a French guy I was really looking forward to this game, after the americans got Connor living a lot of the key moments of the revolution I was so hoping to relive what I have learned in school, la prise de la bastille, le jeu de paume and all that, nah I got a simp who's chasing his girl all over a romanticised Paris and the Eiffel tower for some reasons . I love the game for what it's worth but they missed the occasion to have a rich period of history being the central part of the story. PS the ridiculous garden gnome hood you made fun of is a "bonnet frigien" which is quite symbolic for the French revolution, not sure if you knew that but I thought it was a cool one when I played the game
Ahh the good old free run mechanic I remember running up to a chest to loot it on AC 3 and Connor decides to jump on the tree next to it then I try to get him off he proceeds to jump on a near by fence by that time I said fuck it and the hit B button then he jumps into a haystack...all that from holding free run button too long for a freaking chest man.
Regardless of the technical issues, story, Arno and Elise‘s character and such I will still attest that this game has the best combat and parkour really dynamic and tied with syndicate for best stealth plus the phantom really fuck cool and fun wish it would return to the games and the coop was really fun and cool and I believe if it wasn’t in Unity (because the technical issues) it would of returned to the series and who’s it would
Really loving this new style of video! I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Unity, despite all the technical issues and the mediocrity of the game overall. I guess I've always just vibed with it.
I actually bought Unity recently and I'm having a lot of fun playing it, the story is kinda mid (and i wish the combat was kinda cooler) but I love everything else about it. Gameplay and environment-wise especially, it really feels like what an assassin's creed game should feel like, and I love (I can't believe I have to say this) that I get to play as, and feel like an assassin. Also great that the assassin's order is actually involved in the story.
Also I found out why Bellec has at Western accent it's because he's from French Canada even though I don't understand why he's from French Canada because the accent... So there's your answer fizhy.
Also the microtransactions part is just a dull statement. You can easily play a heist like it belongs in a museum one and earn over 50k in a single mission
Unity seems like they were trying to make there next Ezio. Which Arno at first is kind of interesting, but when he becomes a Assassin he becomes a wet blanket, after he begans to chase Elise. I felt like Arno's story line would have been better if we got a sequel but that ain't happening.
I think this is a pretty common take on Unity, but I really think you can’t criticize the mission checklists when you see the same things in Black Flag and Rogue. Unity is imo what the next gen AC should be. Also if anyone wants to talk about bugs, I couldn’t play Valhalla for a solid month at one point because of a patch
This probably would have been an amazing game if the characters had good personalities and had no glitches lol and they actually followed the established stories
Unity is honestly just a weird game. Like it undeniably still has some major flaws (even after the patches) but there is just something about it that makes me feel like playing it. I guess maybe it's because its a flashpoint in AC history and Unity's success would have taken us down a much better road for the franchise.
Unity's massively underrated in the AC fandom. Once the bugs were gone, it was a great game. I'd like another one like it. The accents though annoyed me to no end. THEY'RE FRENCH, WHY AREN'T THEY FRENCH.
with patches its underrated without them this game deserved every bit of ridicule it receive also this was the last AC game that had parkour mechanics instead of generic climbing.
Better than Syndicate and i just played both recently. I wish the city wasnt so covered in fog, heads, limps, bodies and shit,i know its historically accurate but i dont care.
hey fizhy id recommend playing for honor, its genuinely the only good recent game by Ubisoft and it has an assassin creed event going on with the most modern model of Ezio
I never play it again because the time has already passed....but I will say I really enjoy this game better than ACIV. And why I won't go back to ACU is because there's no fun anymore.
Personally, I think every Assassin’s Creed game after Black Flag needs to be retconned. After that, Ubisoft can use their Bordeaux studio to make good Assassin’s Creed games(Mirage wasn’t great because they had to work within the confines of pre-established lore, which sucks massive dragon cock).
Imo it’s the best bc it has prob the third or fourth best story but all it’s mechanics trumps all the other games and if we’re not counting the rpg’s it has the 2nd best story
For some reason I've been playing the same playthrough of Unity for years now. I enjoy it. I don't have too many technical problems with it. The parkour and stealth are amazing. I've had moments in Paris that have actually left me gasping at how immersive and beautiful the city is. I enjoy the side quests enough. Combat is frustrating in a refreshing way. But man that story is so sloppy. I don't know what it's trying to accomplish. I get it's trying to blur the Templar/Assassin lines, but it doesn't do it well and Arno isn't given justice as a character. For example, how do they not even address Bellec's murder, like, at all!? They blame Arno. It's just sloppy and all feels rushed. So much potential here. But yes, compared to Valhalla, it's a master piece.
i feel the same about the gameplay. it just feels good to play, and i play it atleast twice a year, it just feels right to experience it again, and it surprisingly doesn't get boring.
Maybe it is time to just admit the truth, that despite whatever flaws it may have Unity is a fun game to play. It told serious assassin story that while it may not have added to the overall story, we had a likable character in Arno. If Unity really is as bad as some would lead you to believe then why ever go back to play it again? Maybe because it really isn't.
It's clear that if Ubisoft actually is selling, they're not selling to anyone who will try and do anything much better with franchises such as Assassin's Creed. But i do hope that someone with a bit more passion for gaming swoops in and picks them up. And i hope they can go in and have a hard look at what Ubisoft has and try to force some change. By change i mean, give each franchise their identity back. I would love for a future AC game to go back to being propper Assassin's Creed. Smaller worlds with a point to them. A character that's interesting. A story with meaning to it. Cinematic and interesting. Inovative or atleast Assassiny gameplay. I don't know, more Assassin's Creedu would be good tho. Not as in many games. But as in Assassin's Creed esk Assassin's Creed games? I miss the old days. I did like AC Origins for the most part. But i'd say Black Flag was te last propper AC game. Altough Unity despite it's flaws still has some of the DNA. And to an extend Syndicate as well. But that game took a piss on the franchise by makign it a joke. Still enjoyed the gameplay somewhat however. But Assassin's Creed needs a redemption story. Not Infinity or what ever that Live Service game is called.
The parkour system was so good in this game it really just needed some stream lining and a bit of polish and would have been great in future games but no it took a back seat in syndicate and then was completely stripped down in origins and then replaced with a clunky system. 🙃😐🙄 Ubisoft should be a synonym for stupid at this point. "Hey buddy watch where you're going what are you Ubisoft!" (Sorry in advance if the joke is bad) (Or maybe it's not a joke maybe I'm serious!)

AC Unity has some particular fashion to me (especially on a technical level), it's one of the very few ACs that I played more than once. Love the french revolution and the weaponry of those times btw. And the weirdest part is that I'm Italian, lol
it is dare i say, really great after the patches
Lmao
this attitude is why we get bug filled games nowadays
To give it another chance that I think it deserves with the patches. There is still problems but it’s much better then before 💀
It's been a while since I played AC Unity. I never enjoyed it as much as AC III or Rogue (yes, I know. Not the favorites of many gamers) but I kinda liked it back then.
you saying 3 ain't a favorite lol
@@Ethan829 As far as I heard it's more hated than loved. Never understood why.
Fun fact: a bunch of french politicians said this game was awful for portraying Robespierre (the guy you shoot in the face) in a bad light
You know
The guy behind why its called the Reign of Terror?
The paranoid schizophrenic that caused the deaths of tens of thousands by execution alone? The one who tried to make an actual cult around himself and tried to change the calendar and how we tell time FOR NO REASON?
The madman that even the other revolutionaries turned on when they realized just how far gone he was?
Mr "i botched my suicide so badly that this game chose to portray it as someone committing righteous vengeance on my face"?
THAT GUY
Ya. They called him a "symbol of democracy" when really hes the 2nd worst dictator to ever rule over france. Hitler was the only one who was worse
He was a lot more complex than that, I can see why they don’t like his portrayal.
One side you had a man who was very progressive for the time, being anti slavery, wanted a more rights for the peasants when they had no political voice and on the other hand he was a ruthless leader that had no problem with mass execution of his enemies and tried to diefy himself
Someone like that would make a very interesting character especially in an Assassin creed game, could maybe be done as a darker reflection on the assassins ideas of liberty and freedom as someone who has taken it to far into chaos. Would be someone like like Dutch Van De Linde in RDR2. But instead he’s portrayed as a silly Disney villain with the complexity of a donut
@@JamesSmith-ny2gb wanted more rights for the peasants while simultaneously taking Away the rights that the revolution was giving them. And creating a police state where they wanted to teach children to tell on their parents for saying anything against the revolution.
A revolution of mass murderers and the ones who basically created the worlds first police state right down to the secret police
Not to be That Guy but Hitler seemed like an interesting guy because he genuinely wanted to make the world a better place for his people and wanted to bring an end to smoking
You know
If you ignore EVERYTHING ELSE about him.
Sorry to do the faux pas of bringing up hitler for the debate but im sorry its the only apt comparison here
Im sorry but just....no. the man was a monster.
@@ConnorNotyerbidness Hitler was a genocidal racist that started one of the most violent wars in history and attempted to eradicate and an entire group of people, only thing you can maybe say he liked animals but that is completely irrelevant for what he did so who cares if he liked his dogs.
Robespierre was originally a supporter of The declaration of the rights of man and citizen, universal suffrage, racial and religious equality and opposed the slave trade. that’s far more admirable than just liking animals. Plus the revolution was a violent time, everyone was “mass murderers” you couldn’t be all Gandhi in the French Revolution, not many people would support you and you would probably end up dead before you can make your mark. Regardless if you were for the revolution or not. it wasn’t just the jacobins it was other fanatical factions of all ends striving for power by any means which had lead to a few assassination attempts on his life , kind of understanding to a degree that he became so crazy and paranoid in the end.
He was fucked up sure, but in comparison to man like Hitler he was a saint.
@@JamesSmith-ny2gb robespierre killed tens of thousands of people out of paranoia and quite literally tried to make himself a god while brainwashing the populace into believing only in him
He aint a saint compared to hitler. Hed of killed tens of thousands if not more (at a time when the world population was substantially smaller mind you just in general) if he hadnt been stopped. He was a horrific monster.
@@ConnorNotyerbidness well it was a violent time, most leaders come into power leaving a trail of bodies, especially during the French Revolution. I mean being an anti racist and against slavery was pretty impressive for 18th century France, that’s why I am saying he was complex, one side he had admirable ideas and traits and the other he was a power hungry lunatic
If you go around saying the same thing about any famous historical leader you might use the same argument such as Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great or Ghengis Kahn. If you just put all 3 of those guys and simply call them murderous ego maniacs you’re not going to get an honest idea of those 3 men
At least at a time, he was reasonable, Hitler was never reasonable. You can’t really look at someone like him and see anything good about him
I will say on a serious note that I think Unity gets something of a bad wrap from this community and it deserves more praise than it gets.
Also the audio sounds like shit
Babe, wake up! Fizhy is playing AC Unity again!
3:58
I used to kill the messanger with phantom blade and it worked......1 in a million times
Unity is my favorite Assassin’s Creed game after the Ezio trilogy. I love Unity!
Really?
AC Unity still looks absolutely breathtaking
Well because it’s really great after The Patches™️, obviously.
Bugs was not the only problem.
Criminally underrated AC game, top 3 imo. I guess I was one of the lucky ones because I never experienced any bugs.
🤣 Unity SUCKED
To this day I have no idea how "stealth kill the messenger" is supposed to work.
It isn’t
Orgins is where it's at. One of the few games I replayed after beating it. It's cool it's more relatable to history.
Just realised how weird Bellecs voice was, he was obviously an American putting on a shoddy West Country accent in the middle of the French Revolution
Despite having better graphical ac games than this one, its still the best looking game of the franchise.
Loved the commentary in this video. My boy fizhy killin it as always. Keep it up homie 🔥
Replayed it recently, it’s better than I remember but it’s no where near this masterpiece people are making it out to be
I can agree with this. I think it had the potential it just didn’t quite bang it out
Definitely. Not one Unity fan would ever admit this.
@@Fizhy it's fun trying to do assassinations as slick as possible but the story is so forgettable.
this is actually one of the ones that I replay pretty often. I enjoy the parkour and teh more intimate stealth gameplay
[
I love this game and I think many big AC fans do as well. Some of the best missions in the franchise.
What best missions in the franchise? Name a few because from what I recalled every mission sucked.
Here's some ideas for Assassin's Creed settings I came up with.
- China(Medieval)
- Japan(Boshin War)
- Mongolia(13-14th century)
- Vietnam (late 18th-early 19th century)
- Prussia(1870s)
- Norse follow-up (Iceland and Sweden, or Norse in Spain or Georgia in 9-10th century)
- Prussian or Livonian Crusades)
- Frisia(8th century)
- Persia(10-11th century)
I feel Mongolia has a strong draw to it since it's such an interesting setting and a unique point in time.
The cut be looking fresh Fizhy
Story could've been sooo good being linked back to AC Rogue which was underrated. Hunting down an old Shay Cormac and ACTUALLY following the story of assassin's. So much potential thrown out the window and replaced with a disengaging, beyond boring love story with more to do with Templars than Assassins
0:09 Assassin's Creed Unity is definetely one of the games of all time.
I hate that this game might be my fav in the franchise.
AC Unity is one of my favourites AC games, which is one of my favourite gaming franchises.
After playing rdr2 however, I went back for a new save and it felt unplayable and boring.
Trying to compare rockstar games to ubisoft games is so utterly pointless
@@AverageAlien Yes. However I value the Ezio trilogy higher than the GTA Franchise
@@pascalg16 The GTA franchise is objectively more valuable but whatever

@@pascalg16 other way around lmaoo. Rockstar games have infinitely more quality. Nothing can even come close to the immersion and the worlds in the GTA franchise. AC can be fun but it cannot compare to rockstar.
I've been playing Unity recently and it's pretty fun. Story is underwhelming but the gameplay is good enough.
Replaying this games story just feels like a fetchquest part of the time man
And watching Simps on a Twitch streams.
You cant even equip the hidden blades, theyre only used in stealth takedowns and because of this holding the attack button to run into a stealth takedown like in old games actually just unsheates your weapon here instantly breaking stealth making stealth kills more annoying to get reliably (biggest issue was double take downs were really finnicky to achieve here compared to other games)
Missions are also boring in general, its hard to tell apart the high quality missions from the low quality ones before you try them, with a lot just being "go here and kill this guy who has like 2 guards".
Hopefully its not all of them, but this was my experience
Altogether it felt like a game that did parkour and world design very well but failed on motivations and moment to moment action
Every time i see a suggestion video about revisiting/replaying ACU, i watch it! ACU is one of the game i do not uninstall. I even have a yt video "acu swordfight is elegant". You got me subs here 😁 Thanks!
Unity is definitely in my top 5 for assassins creed games. Amazing parkour and I love for the customisation
I replayed this game a few months ago with the audio set to French, subtitles in English. Unfortunately this means Bishop will be speaking French as well, but still helps greatly with the immersion. Still doesn't excuse what Ubisoft did with the accents in English, but makes it possible to ignore it at least
This is a fun little video! Would be fun to see this kind of video about other AC Games. Or other LEGO Games considering you did Indiana Jones
This was legit hilarious, I'd love to see you explore this style of video with other games
Unity was the last good Assassin's Creed.
Yes even better than origins.
Unity is and has always been underrated sure it had its issues at launch but what game doesnt these days
idk why but Edward's robes looked so good in this game
Unity is a cracking ride now and then. Still far from a great Assassin's Creed in terms of story, but after Odyssey and Valhalla, it's really really fun
09:47 - Well actually...The second Valhalla DLC also has black box missions. And I liked that.
Regardless of the technical issues, story, Arno and Elise‘s character and such I will still attest that this game has the best combat and parkour really dynamic and tied with syndicate for best stealth plus the phantom really fuck cool and fun wish it would return to the games and the coop was really fun and cool and I believe if it wasn’t in Unity (because the technical issues) it would of returned to the series and who’s it would
Question: Why did Arno only have 1 hidden blade?
2 hundred years ago it was custom for two blades, what changed? Is Arno not perceived as worthy?
Really loving this new style of video!
I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Unity, despite all the technical issues and the mediocrity of the game overall. I guess I've always just vibed with it.
The reason why I played unity again: valhalla and odyssey exist so wanted to feel like an assassin again
I absolutely adore Unity, still playing even today. Yes story is boring but I can't change that, overall Unity is the best AC game for me.
“What are you gettin’ at Piss Pot?” 😂😂😂
Finally some AC content, for some reason this mans Ac content stands head and shoulders above all of the content of this app
If the older games didn’t have any nostalgia to them Ac unity would’ve been my favorite
Multiplayer in NA seems dead but in Europe unity is still played and you can find players within a minute of queue searching
Also the microtransactions part is just a dull statement. You can easily play a heist like it belongs in a museum one and earn over 50k in a single mission
Ac unity you is my second favorite game we get to play with assassins and great open world the hate is really unwarranted

Assassin's creed unity is the best Assassin's creed game ever ( after the patches )
Im replaying it right now honestly the gameplay is better and i wish ac would go back to that.
Yeah unity is technically a sequel to rogue and III because rogue takes place before AC III AND UNITY but III takes place before unity
I was able to overcome the micro-transactions through the Social Club and renovating it to get 45,000 livres every 40 mins
Assassins creed unity is certainly a game that exists
Would u please share ur opinions on Syndicate too?
I really like fantasy...but not in my AC, though. Just because you mentioned Valhalla
It’s one of the best ac games
can you replay the game wioth the powerful sword ?
Imo it’s the best bc it has prob the third or fourth best story but all it’s mechanics trumps all the other games and if we’re not counting the rpg’s it has the 2nd best story
Atleast Unity is still trying to be an Assassins Creed game than whatever the f Valhalla was
Because it's good and certainly far better than what we're getting right now
For some reason I've been playing the same playthrough of Unity for years now.
Big man Fizhy plays Assassins Creed in 2022?
strange times indeed… 🧐
it always hurts me when i see another video in which my fav ac game ist getting roasted
Good video mate, feel like playing unity after finishing odyssey, I didn't know what got ret conned, when was this?
Atleast they should take back the parkour system
Maybe it is time to just admit the truth, that despite whatever flaws it may have Unity is a fun game to play. It told serious assassin story that while it may not have added to the overall story, we had a likable character in Arno. If Unity really is as bad as some would lead you to believe then why ever go back to play it again? Maybe because it really isn't.
truly magnificent (i want to break elise's back)
Ah the Fizhy comments, how I love them
I'm a Unity Stan and I'm not afraid to say it
It's clear that if Ubisoft actually is selling, they're not selling to anyone who will try and do anything much better with franchises such as Assassin's Creed.
Ubisoft should be a synonym for stupid at this point. "Hey buddy watch where you're going what are you Ubisoft!"
(Sorry in advance if the joke is bad)
(Or maybe it's not a joke maybe I'm serious!)
