The weight gain, the depression, the addiction, yet nobody knows about it.2 and a half years after this video was made and this is the first i knew he was fighting all these demons.

gambling addiction truly sucks. iv been hooked for years. The longest I abstained was 1 year but like many I have relapsed. I'm slowly breaking free though. never had addictions like smoke, drink or drugs. I did them but was never gripped but gambling is a whole different animal. Worst thing that can happen to you is you get a big win

I work with people suffering from drug and alcohol addiction, and whether it's substances, gambling, or eating too many fucking cream cakes (guilty!), the psychology is the same. My message to Dave Allen would be seek peer support (Gamblers Anonymous, SMART Recovery, etc.), and just take one day at a time. Oh, and win that fight, mate.
