    **ATTENTION** You must watch the ENTIRE video to understand why it was made before posting comments or rating the video! The number of misinformed/insolent comments by viewers has gotten out of control. electronicsNmore is a channel that has helped millions of people, and EXPOSES TH-cam "Free Energy" scams, unlike many other channels on TH-cam that profit off scam videos.
    VIDEO EXPLANATION: The purpose of making the video the way I did, was to duplicate how a typical TH-cam "Free Energy" scammer would spend time convincing viewers that what they're seeing is real. I accomplished that using a popular kid's toy, but I also did what very few YT channels do, and that was to show how it was done in order to teach them a valuable lesson regarding "Free Energy" scams on TH-cam. If you notice the video title, the words are in quotes(which indicates the subject matter is in doubt) and there's also a "?" at the end of the video title. Thanks for watching!
    You'll greatly enjoy my "Free Energy" Scam exposing video playlist below, I have video there that are better than this video.

    If I remember the fact I learned correctly, the energy wouldn't be created in a vacuum, because the energy relies on the outside resistances to function. For example, if there was no table, the magnets would fly into the spinner and because of that, they would no longer spin it.
    At least, I believe that's why it doesn't actually work.
    Plus ofc the reveal at the end. But hypothetically, if it really was the magnets, that would be why it doesn't work no matter how you do it

    • @humourlessjester3584
      @humourlessjester3584 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      @raptorwhite6468 I'm not saying it will work... I'm wondering what it would do. Would it peeter out after nudging it a bit, would it not have enough force to nudge it at all, would the two magnets pull against each other no matter the orientation... Don't shut down curiosity just because there are rules in place saying it doesn't work because you will learn something if you do it and fail rather than not learning anything if you don't do anything at all. Sometimes, we judge the action too much on its success or failure rather than just letting it happen and seeing the results regardless of success or failure.

    • @humourlessjester3584
      @humourlessjester3584 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @raptorwhite6468 I'm not saying to break them. I don't think you're truly understanding what we're trying to achieve here. It won't be breaking laws of physics if we just put magnets in a particular formation and see what happens. Law of physics won't slap my wrists if I try to put two pre charged magnets together in a particular shape that, let's say, would be a similar orientation if you were to use electric magnets to make a motor. We just want to see what happens, it is not a what-if fictional scenario we're trying to do here. Maybe it won't go, that's fine that is an observable result, maybe it would spin for a little bit but then fizzle out, that is also an observable result. What is so impossible with just putting magnets in a certain shape, not expecting perpetual motion, but just observing the results? My hypothesis is that it spins for a bit but loses momentum as it loses charge, but if we have that attitude of stopping ourselves because it won't work, we'll never find out! Because discovery comes from a place of idiocy and ignorance, not from intelligence, so if you truly want to think like a scientist or innovator for a second shut down your brain and have an exercise of idiocy and curiosity to actually question these age old truths rather than just never questioning them. You may come across things already discovered or fail at what you're trying to achieve but that doesn't matter, what matters is that you learned something new by applying yourself to what you are curious about.

      @comfortable_east 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Most likely nothing, it will spin as if the magnets didn't exist, until the rpm slows down where the magnets will stop it slightly before than it would have without them.

    I always wished to do something "free energy" with magnets. Then I saw a video with metal in an electromagnetic coil. It floated, it spun, and then it melted because the magnetic energy was not being converted into just kinetic energy. The bleedoff of energy was released as heat, and so it went from a floating nugget of metal, to a not so floating dripping string of molten metal. Thermodynamics really do ruin generators yo.

    • @kennethfischer3067
      @kennethfischer3067 2 ปีที่แล้ว +107

      @@benoitbrown9400 Actually, that's also not quite right. The real reason this doesn't work is because the polarity of the magnets never changes, so the spinner would never be able to complete a full rotation. Real motors/generators use a combination of a stator and an alternating current/split commutator to swap the polarity of the electromagnetic field, allowing the stator (spinner in this case) to complete a full rotation.

    If I were to assume correctly because the fidget spinner is in perpetual motion, it means it's exerting continuous energy as the magnetic energy is transformed into mechanical energy, but what stops us from transforming this energy into energy we can store? or putting this inside a larger machine and transferring the mechanical energy throughout?
    What prevents us from turning this into free energy? Also, would this spin forever if it was left untouched, or would the magnetic energy just 'run out' as more and more of it transforms into heat energy?
    Also, would this spin forever in space?

  • @dragoncarver287
    @dragoncarver287 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    The immediate problem with perpetual motion machines is friction of some sort. It keeps robbing energy from the system. IF... and it's a big "IF" you could get a simple machine to be perpetual, it would be useless. ANY attempt to get it to do some work injects resistance, i.e. friction into the system and the whole thing stops. There is only one example of a perpetual motion system and you are standing on it.

    If there were a way to move the magnet toward and away from the magnets on the Spinner at an appropriate time, as to cause them to attract only until the spinner gets to a certain point and then take it away so that it cannot attract anymore. Magnetic attraction might actually work depending on how strong your magnets were and if we could rig up some kind of cam ir something to move the outer magnet. do you think so? Then you would not need any other force such as air to move the spinner, it might just go by itself. I will try to figure out a way, maybe a magnet on a stick with a spring or something, but to overcome the spring the magnets would have to be stronger than the spring. You have me thinking on this I will test it and see what I can do for experimental purposes.

      Uh, that’s not the point, even if magnets could last forever, it wouldn’t work, the magnets would go to the less energy equilibrium point and get perfectly still.
      Only “theorical”way to do it was if you could have a single pole magnet with only South or only North, which is a imaginary concept, because every magnet has 2 poles and when you split it in half you have 2 new magnets with 2 poles.
      Anyway, implying something like this exist is the same as saying energy can be created out of nowhere which means magic actually exists.

    "Free energy" means you get continuously new energy /order in a closet system. Which contradicts the thermodynamic rules. In that case there is no "new energy", magnetism may force movement, but movement means friction, friction means warmth, warmth means less order.
    And even in space will energy be lost, the magnetic charge will reduced over a long period. And to prevent the fidgin spinner to move towards a magnet it must be fixed with an center axis, and that means again friction.

    To actually create a perpetual motion machine you need to overcome counter electromotive force. The polar attraction of the magnet pulling the flywheel towards the magnet has to turn off or better yet reverse as the flywheel magnet passes. Otherwise the pull that once created an attraction in a given direction will impede the motion when the flywheel magnet passes. However if you reverse the static magnets polarity it will now serve to push the flywheel magnet away. Are you smelling what I'm stepping in?

    • @jackofclubs6229
      @jackofclubs6229 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not just that, but think of what the idea of a Perpetual Motion Machine is supposed to be: A machine that can move in spite of other forces acting against it. It has to be able to keep moving despite other forces trying to stop it. And one of those forces can potentially be a person. If you can stick something in the way and stop it, then it’s not a perpetual motion machine. If you can _Break_ the thing, then it was never a perpetual Motion machine.

      Congratulations, you just discovered Dynamos, used for electric power generation.
      A Fuel source in (usually steam created by burning something, which creates pressure) and causes a turbine to rotate. The rotation of magnets past coils of wire causes an electric response on the opposing poles, (induction) which can be used to extract power and do work (electricity).
      It's important to recognise that the magnets alone do not and cannot create extractable energy. Movement of the magnets does.
      Attempting to extract energy using magnets is no different in this regard than extracting energy from gravity, like say weights in a grandfather clock. You get power as long as something (gravity) is exerting a force on the weight dragging it down while it is free to do so, but once it comes to a rest (end of the chain/hit the floor), there is no more potential energy to extract. You need a source of power to lift the weight again. (Your hand and arm, pulling the chain to wind it up again.)

    Okay I mean… You can use magnets to propel the fidget spinner. I see the air at the end. Even if that wasn’t happening the magnets could have worked. That’s how fans work using electromagnets.
    The point is, magnets like the ones you have are like batteries. After a while of propelling the spinner, they would eventually weaken and become non magnetic. This would make it not perpetual motion. It isn’t free energy because the energy supply is coming from the magnets in that case, and will eventually run out.

Which allows for an astronaut to walk in gravity theoretically of course I don’t know if we have actually done that in space yet. But this is the science behind it.

    • @Predated2
      @Predated2 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Well, that and even permanent magnets arent permanent. Even if such a motor worked good enough to get energy from it, it's not going to be enough since it costs more energy to make a permanent magnet than to get energy out of it. Magnets can help us lower costs though. Like, magnettrains cost relatively little, long term and resourceful seen, compared to non-magnettrains.

    This is technically how the nuclear power plants/coal fired power plants and Hydro electric power stations create electricity but this is in a very simplified way and a dumbed down version the thing that overlaps is the use of magnets to produce emf through electro magnetic induction by spinning the turbine by the use of steam/water the and the spinning action of the turbine is connected to a coil which cuts through a north/south pole of two magnets inducing a current .Which is then passed through a transformer and delivered to homes.
    The amount of energy produced through this can be calculated using the formula:
    E=VBLsinQ where Q is theta
