    I really appreciate that you remind us how long it takes to learn these basics! The self-imposed expectation to get it in the first viewing of the video is impossible, so the reminder in the middle was very helpful, especially because I found the going back is really difficult for me. Thank you!

      There's definitely a lot of pressure to "get it right" immediately, but the body takes time to learn even the simplest of things and you'll always find something you missed when you go back over a video again later. I still do every time I learn a new choreography!

    It's been my dream to dance since I was little but due to things like my ADHD and depression which were undiagnosed for a very long time, I never felt like I could or like it was meant for me. Getting into kpop really changed my life and made me see that I can do anything I put my mind to if I try. I am so glad I found this program to start me off on my journey! It seems like it will be an awesome fit for me and I'm really excited to finally be doing this for myself!

    Never gonna get tired of telling you how helpful and great your tutorials are.✨Also really big thank you for always thinking about our bodies and encouraging us to be mindful and avoid injuries!💕💕💕 I'm so happy I discovered your channel! 😻You are full of positive attitude and I feel really comfortable learning from you. Thanks for giving us super comfortable safe space both physically and mentally. I felt really bad and stupid about not being able to pick up a choreo. I also used to have sore muscles and back pain whenever I tried to pick up a choreo from other youtubers. Obviously as an absolute beginner just following along and repeating the movements in a slow tempo without really understanding what I'm doing wasn't enough for my body and level. The moment I included your basics in my everyday activities (usually after my morning yoga) I saw so much improvement in my mobility and coordination and less pain during dancing. Now I'm actually starting to understand things better and be less awkward with my movements. You also encourage me to be kinder to myself. Thank you so much! 💕

    should we keep doing these bounce for weeks instead of learning any kpop song's choreography ?
    and will these bounce techniques help to make the dance look beautiful instead of awkward ?

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      Bounces definitely help the dance to become less awkward, I think they're the most important thing for creating smooth dancing. You can practice bounces and continue to learn choreography, I use bounces as a warm up at the start of classes when I teach choreography, so that can be a good way to do both! Spend maybe 10 minutes on your bounces everyday before doing other dances as a warm up and see if that helps you 😊

    Found your videos on my search to find dance foundation classes online (for any style!) that are actually absolute beginner friendly and these are the most comprehensive effective useful helpful understandable videos that I've found yet. I really struggle to learn and am neurodivergent and the way you communicate and emphasize different things and reassure things about the process is amazing and I feel so confident like I can't actually get to where I want to be as a dancer. Most dance videos I have to pause every 2 seconds to rewind and try again and then still don't get it but here I only had to rewind a couple times and I actually got it and made progress! I don't feel lost anymore- I feel capable finally. Thank you so much!

    Idk if my comment went through so I'll just rewrite it (sorry if it did go through).
    So I'm having issues with the back bounce drops. I can go forward but I can't go back without going on my tippy toes (and it hurts a lot when I try to put my heels down) How can I avoid this? Should I consider getting my ankle flexibility up before attempting them or is there a quicker and easier solution?

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi 😊 So the best thing for you to do in this situation would be to just do the "back" part very small, just lean back as far as you can with your heels on the ground, even if its just a tiny movement. Start there and as you do them small your body will adjust with practice and you'll be able to make them bigger. I wasn't able to do them very big at first either so don't worry!

      The series is designed to be suitable for everyone, so there are some boy group and some girl group choreographies in the 30 day program, but the basics are useful for both styles. If you're doing the 30 day program you can always replace the girl choreo days with other tutorials from my channel instead like BTS Boy With Luv or Stray Kids Thunderous or Easy.

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@zarouallina9803 Ah I see. Its probably a mix of two things. Firstly it could be leg flexibility as you mentioned and secondly its probably that your body isn't used to dropping down suddenly as is afraid of losing balance or falling. Practice by bending your knees into that position and doing the forward back movement there for a while first. Then when your body is more comfortable being there and doing the move low down, practice the drop but very slowly, leaning forward and bending the knees together. This will help to stretch out the muscles bit by bit and also show your body that the move is safe 😊

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chicken is good! Some of my in person students actually call it the "pink chicken" so that means you're doing it well! It will definitely become and feel more natural with practice, you got this 😊

  • @ViiSlash
    @ViiSlash 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    What if the "down" part from the basic up-down bounce burns the lower leg section (between knees and feet, but not on the calf. It's kinda more frontal)

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you're feeling it more in the front of the lower leg, then you're probably leaning the upper body a little too far forward when doing the down. This is a natural reaction as the body tries to work out where the shape is supposed to be. Focus on pulling the abs in more and try to keep your balance as centered as possible. If you have a mirror to practice with, try to match the front of your abs in line with the heels of your feet, this should help keep the line centered. If you like imagery, imagine a giant hand is squishing you down from your head. So you fold inwards like an accordion (shoulders would end up folded over knees and hips against heels) rather than leaning forwards or back. I hope that helps and if not let me know and we can try something else 😊

    Hi. Thank you for making this video ! Any tips on associating this bouncing to actual dance/ choreography ? Had a hard time learning this. What it looks like if one doesn’t dance with bounce skill ? Want to visualise the difference

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! The vast majority of K-Pop dances have bounce in them. Bounce gives the dance a cool, hiphop or energetic vibe. It helps to move quickly through footwork and gives your body momentum to move between large shapes more comfortably and easily.
      When a dance doesn't use bounce skills, its usually more angular, sharp and flowing instead.
      Some examples of bounce heavy dances are Baekhyun's Candy, which I use as the tutorial for practicing bounces in the 30 Day Beginner Program: th-cam.com/video/P8iZyk8yIqQ/w-d-xo.html
      New Jean's dances (like OMG for example) also heavily rely on bounce skills as they have an old skool hip hop style in their choreography.

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      More than how long you should practice, it's about how focused the practice is. If you take some time every day, and as you practice, really focus in on the muscles each move uses and how it feels, and how to make the moves bigger and stronger.
      Look in the mirror and match the shapes, see where you can improve them each time. You can also film yourself doing them and see how it looks from the outside too to help improve your form and power.

    So...is there an stretches you can recommend for flexibility? I found it really hard to go back without lifting my heel off the ground.

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The best way to build flexibility for that move is to do it at the point where your heel doesn't come off the ground. It might make the move very small, but that's OK to start with. Keeping the line straight from shoulder to knee is more important, even if the overall move is small. Keep practicing it small where your heel is comfortable and then make it a little bit bigger so the heel is still on the ground but definitely stretching a bit. Then when that much becomes comfortable, make the move a little bigger, and so on until the body stretches out to where you want it. This will take time, depending on your original flexibility it could take a few days of practice or a few weeks, but if you keep at it, your body will adjust 😊
