You don't understand. Mentality of the NATO propaganda (and those who indoctriinated by it enough) not operate by good or bad traits or actions, only good and bad actors. Ukraine is good therefore any actions it takes is either good or necessarily greymoral. (USA is just plain always right). Russia and any countries that seems pro-Russian are bad, so any their actions are either evil or manipulative scheme to appear good but actually not.
Funniest shit begin when country's "alignment" in eyes of Western propaganda changes on the fly, just like Western media in first time in decades noticed that Saudi Arabia are not in fact a democracy and have cruel laws (it wasn't issue as long as it was ally of USA). Now Turkey also become "corrupt, authoritarian" etc etc and all its actions will be re-framed with this new truth in mind

Traces of their tradition are still seen, Turkiye's application for EU has never been asked to Turkish people. Such a decision should be asked to people first, have you ever heard about a referendum in Turkiye on the issue? It was not people's will. It was decided by those brainwashed pro-western Turks who admired the West in any case , while state mechanism and system were firmly at their control. So Turkiye's EU effort was actually un-democratic. It was a very nice video showing Turkiye's and Turks' perspective. I would like to add a few things. There were some key factors, not covered in this video, that expedited Turkiye's decision.
    1) After the 2016 coup, Turkish state and majority of Turks saw where our so-called "allies" stood exactly. During the hours the coup was taking place, the EU countries and the US were all quiet. None of them expressed their support for Turkiye, and condemned the coup in the early hours. As the coup progressed and looked successful, in many Western TV stations, we saw these experts supporting the coup, and calling the soldiers involved in the coup as "these are the good guys". Our allies shared the route of the president's airplane with the headquarters of the coup. That night they killed more than 250 Turkish citizens and wounded few thousands of them. They bombed the parliament, presidential complex, and buildings that belonged to Turkish civil intelligence and the police. After the coup, many of the traitors in the army were arrested. Then, NATO expressed that they were worried about the wellbeing of their friends in the Turkish army. Today, most of the key figures of FETO are living comfortably in Germany and the US despite we sent them truckloads of evidence proving their involvement. This is no what we understand from the word ALLIES.
    2) During Covid-19 pandemic, Turkiye became completely sure about the strength of the ties between the EU members. They stole masks, vaccines, and medical supplies from each other. They stopped airplanes loaded with medical supplies destined for other countries. This is completely unethical and immoral, and an epitome of selfishness. Only institutions and people who operate with no ethical code and moral restraint can operate like this. Seeing how the EU countries treated each other during a peace-time crisis convinced Turkish state that these countries will definitely not stand for each other during war-time.
    3) The EU, especially Germany, has been sabotaging every economic project that will make Turkiye stronger. When they do this, they make ridiculous excuses. For example, the very last one of these is the construction of our nuclear power plant in Southern Turkiye. The NPP has four reactors. One of them was scheduled to start this year. Some critical components were contracted to Siemens. The contract with Siemens was signed long before Russo-Ukraine War. Despite contract is between two companies, and all the key components were produced by Siemens in time, with a unilateral decision the German government stopped Siemens from sending those components to Turkiye. Now, they have been waiting at German customs and decaying. Only this sabotage delayed the opening of the first reactor at least by a year. That reactor was supposed to produce 10% of Turkiye's electricity. We basically lost billions of dollars. If you have an ally like Germany, you don't need an enemy. What Germany did is wrong. It is wrong times wrong, and you can never justify such an act with any reason and excuses. Turkiye has a long state tradition. It is not yesterday's kid just like many other countries in the West. Like any nation with a deep state tradition, Turks took a note of this. When the time comes, Germans will be reminded of this treacherous acts and sabotages against Turkiye.
In my closing remarks, I would like to say a few things about Turkiye-Russia relations. It is true that we are historical enemies. We fought 300 years from mid-16th cc to 1870s. However, we understand each other. Despite differences in religions and conflicting geopolitical interests, we both are Eastern societies and attach more importance to traditional values and institutions. Most importantly, both Turks and Russians are warrior nations. We know that they will uphold to a moral code, and they will operate in an ethical way in their relations with us, even as an enemy. So, we can anticipate what they will do and what they will not do. They are reliable, predictable and negotiable, in the sense that they are not backstabbers like our allies. If we sign a military/economic/technological agreement with Russians, we know that they will keep their end of the agreement, and they will not use it against us just like our allies did in the case of F-35 project and NPP project.
I hope this clarifies certain things about Turkiye's BRICS decision.

European countries have already had a very negative and racist view towards Turkey for hundreds of years due to religious and political reasons. In order to recover after World War I, Turkey had to work with the West and establish good relations, which in some cases harmed it. Now, for example, the main thing is that it took an average of 100 years for a country that has exhausted everything by fighting with the West for hundreds of years to be accepted by the West or to recover itself in every aspect after this exhaustion, and as a result, Turkey will choose the side that wants to establish a partnership with it on equal terms, not the side that it does not want. Western politicians and the church will destroy themselves by continuing the crusader mentality of 1000 years ago.

Why would they join the EU? For the last 20-30 years the EU has reshaped from an economic to political union. On the surface it looks like every country has the right to veto, but if you do that and they don't like it, the EC blocks your rightful funds due to suspicions of "lack of rule of law" or "human rights abuse". It looks a lot like one other union but with soft central planning measures. The EUSSR needs to be reformed urgently.

They were never going to be let in the EU.
    1. It's not an European country
    2. It would have been the largest country in the EU and that doesn't sit right with both Germany and France. I also wonder about the emotions in Bulgaria and Romania on this subject
    3. It's a Muslim country and that's going to be a problem for a lot of Europeans.
I always wondered what Turkey was thinking by wanting to join the EU. The EU is a totalitarian system that demands full submission of it's member states on behalf of the United States of America.
I wish them well in BRICS and hope for the Turkish people it will bring them prosperity and happiness, in fact I'm convinced they will. We in the EU, at least for the coming decades, are a window into the past and not a window into the future

For example Germany, Uk, France I mean look what happened to them after they accepted so many migrants. Look at Hungary and Poland how come they are the doing good than these countries. When you have woke and liberals running the government this is the result you will get. That's why so many eu countries are having far right rising take an example in France and Germany. Those who use this message to create racism well I am brown indian american person it is not about race it is about right vs wrong.

Germany , Sweden accepted lots of immigrants to solve their demographic crisis , which is obviously not solved yet.
without immigrants they get back to square one and have to face the same issues as Japan, less young people to run the economy, more retired old people to take care of.
Things went south there in my opinion because they are heavily liberal nationalist societies, unlike the US, Australia, and most eastern countries ,their societies are not used to being multi-ethnic, and there is undeniable white supremacy, even if it is based on culture instead of race, they will look down on any other culture, and expect others to crave being like them, and it seems those immigrants just didn't bought this and want to keep their identities, and you end with Europeans viewing immigrants as savages, while immigrants viewing Europeans as racist Supremists, nothing but growing tension.
Also their elites are used to authoritarian social engineering, and this just put gas on fire.
