You don’t know me but I will always remember and respect you. I am a recovered alcoholic with over 20 years clean and I remember when you lost your friend, you really tried to help him and that could have been me so much respect sir. I fish at night on Wylie and it’s my favorite time to fish. The jet skis and all that nonsense is done for the day so it’s very peaceful. With all the hate and negativity going on in the world fishing let’s me get away from it all. Everything you mentioned is spot on and I have caught so many bass at night if you haven’t tried it you really should. And while fishing for bass at night I have caught some big catfish hit my bass lures so be ready. Thanks
Bo , youre right about what you said , All Due Respect in the most Respectful way possible i would like to point out that i feel most anglers make the simple mistake of they fergotten about scent because fish can smell your bait from over 2 miles away. i mean some of the best catfish i personally have caught i caught them by trusting scent. prime example for new years day 2022 i Texas Rigged a lil smokies sausage on a treble hook and caught a catfish at sunset. so scent can make a difference. just saying
I'm a big night fisherman. I love using the chatterbait, topwater, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. I also started throwing soft plastics with rattles on them. I've definitely had a lot of luck with the chatterbait, though.
20-25 yrs ago when I was a young man fishing tournaments on Shasta Lake, Ca. I used the bead on the Texas rig, still use no matter what time of day, that rattle is always welcome cause it's not massively big. Great vids man, keep up the good work 👍
I caught my first bass when I was 4, I have been fighting for bass, catfish, crappie. I learn something every time I watch one of yours, thank you keep it up.
I'm relatively new to bass fishing. I've been learning so much from you. Thanks for explaining how to rig this stuff up. It's made my fishing experience so much better.
Heck yeah Gene!! This is excellent, thank you so much. That's how we do it all night in Texas!! Big Perm! The Texas rig with the bead is a new one for me, ill be purchasing 50 beads tomorrow now lol! Thanks man! Fish on sir!!!
I used to night fish from a water scamp with a black light and I would use stren clear blue line and it looked like a rope and I used 7 inch black power bait worm
I've spent alot of time fishing illinois reservoirs in deep summer from 9pm to day light. I keep it simple, 1/2oz black on black jig n pig. Catch more bigger bass on that lure than anything. I like to keep the deck clean for safety so I usually only bring 2 rods. Both jig rods.
I’ve had absolutely no luck at all with anything Black and Blue. I’m in South East Illinois so not sure if that has anything to do with it. Bass here like white the best no matter what the water conditions are that day. I wanna say thanks for all the wisdom you’ve taught me tho, Sir. I got 2 toads last night with your tips
Cool vid! My favorite night bait is a hulagrub, 3/16 weight. Can be drug, hopped or swimming, depending on what the bass want. Also, Yamamoto 5" green pumpkin with a fluorescent chartreuse tail!
Awesome! Took plenty of notes and ready, so “put me in coach”! Going to pack and give night fishing a try this weekend! Keep it up brother and Go Dawgs!
Awesome video Gene, love the idea of the bead on the Texas rig. Found your channel just a short time ago but am here to stay. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
@flukemaster great video, thisnisnour first year fishing night tournaments and we haven't done great once it's dark. You said turn your headlamp off because it will spook the fish. We have 15w lanterns pointed toward the bank. Does this spook the fish? Maybe it's why we suck at night. Thanks for your videos.
No prob, lol I’m glad your teaching the community more interesting ways to catch bass just giving you a little bit of a hard time :) thank you for all you do
Dude!! I now have a mini man crush on you!! Lol - You mentioned the Jitterbug!! I learned about the Jitterbug prolly in the 70's & have been fishin' a BLACK one at night since 1980! The size just below the Musky size & I learned to modify the bill with a pair of pliers to get a better "gurgle!" NOTHING has out performed this bait for me at night ever! The blow ups at my feet have been epic!! (Must be stealthy, quiet & NO light!) 2'nd. Your bead mod on a Texas Rig is nice! Never thought of that & WILL try! I knew I picked a great channel to sub to!!! Just to add... I am a bank fisherman. NO NEED for a boat at night BUT... Be careful! Snakes can see/sense you & you'll see them from a distance swimming toward you! MOVE when you have to! (I've been bit 6 times. How dedicated or stupid are you??)
Im from louisiana fishing around toledo bend close many what kind of bait would I need for night for my type of climate and what what I need for day time im new trying to teach my self at 33 never had no one to show me and I watch your videos at work or just anytime lol love the videos and how through you are so I figured you'd be the one I have to ask and should I use a heavy weight if the current is kinda strong
That’s some solid advise, I’ll have to try the rat swim bait, I keep hearing a lot about them. I always thought they where just one of those one hit wonder baits.
You're killing me.. jitterbug has been my go to, as long as I've been fishing.. I'm 48.. the hula popper and there floating type buzzbait have a box all to themselves
Fluke Master , i have learned so much from watching Fluke Master , Bill Dance , Scott Martin Randy Blaukat ,Tactical Bassin here on youtube then i would at a actual school fishing classroom. I would like to say from my own experience that 1 mistake i personally feel anglers make is that they dont trust and or rely on scent. i say this because i have had days where i would use very scenty baits loaded with scent and i ended up catching 3 to 5 catfish then i had days where i didnt use scent and still caught them , im not saying you cant catch them on non scented baits by any means. im just saying dont forget about scented baits like lil smokies sausage or hotdogs and you'll slay 3 to 5 catfish ina single day.
So if I'm on a bank, do I shine a flashlight into the water, and they group around that spot in the water, or do I simply have a lantern on the bank, and they are attracted to that?
You have your thumb on the spool the whole time/know or feel the spool slowing down. You also just have to accept it will happen more because you can't see if your lure is headed towards a branch at 100mph until you hear it.
Keep things simple things can go wrong quick at night....black and blue spinnerbait with a large black colorado blade....10 inch junebug worm texas rigged....and a junebug trick worm on a 1/4 ounce shakeyhead....i stay away from any bait with treble hooksat night
Every video I watch talks about a jig, I live in Florida, and I have to be the only man to be skunked on a jig, to the point I don’t throw em. I reckon I can’t fish or something😂
He is totally right. I new this for decades and decades. It is actually big secret. And he is telling that. He is not going bla bla bla for 15 minutes for nothing,
Further and farther: Further is depth of thought or process Farther is distance. You think your videos out further than Chad Hoover does 13 fishing equipment allows you to cast farther than chad can with his gear

Nice!! The peace is beautiful isn't it?!!

I fish at night more than I do in daytime. I don’t fish much differently either.
Good to see ya, Gene.
cant get enough of the jitterbug good to see u like a old classic . great video thanks for all the info don't see many night videos.
20-25 yrs ago when I was a young man fishing tournaments on Shasta Lake, Ca. I used the bead on the Texas rig, still use no matter what time of day, that rattle is always welcome cause it's not massively big. Great vids man, keep up the good work 👍
Thanks for the information on bass fishing at night I always wondered if you can catch at night
Love the bead idea, definitely trying that even during the day. Thanks Gene!
I never night fish but I just love watching your vids, God bless brother!
It's a blast!! Use a big worm also
Not gonna lie brother night fishing seems to me to be more relaxing
I caught my first bass when I was 4, I have been fighting for bass, catfish, crappie. I learn something every time I watch one of yours, thank you keep it up.
I'm relatively new to bass fishing. I've been learning so much from you. Thanks for explaining how to rig this stuff up. It's made my fishing experience so much better.
Ray Herndon no matter where you are fishing and whatever time there is during the day throw a senko
Rysky Highlights or fluke lol
Thank you, it was right on time, you are awesome as always.
Great video, Gene! I had a really productive night tonight on a squarebill crankbait. Thanks for all the tips!
This is the exact video i needed , im going fishing tonight . First time in years
Heck yeah Gene!! This is excellent, thank you so much. That's how we do it all night in Texas!! Big Perm! The Texas rig with the bead is a new one for me, ill be purchasing 50 beads tomorrow now lol! Thanks man! Fish on sir!!!
Hello Gene, Thankyou for sharing your tactics you use. I’m starting to night fish and fixing to buy a kayak first kayak. Can’t wait to try them!
I'm digging the new video style.
Thanks man. All the credit goes to my 16 year old son. He’s got skills.
Years ago I fished some night tournaments and you would be surprised how many boats we ran across out there with no lights at all on.
Always thanks for the tips and for making safety a priority .
Great idea with the bead... u could call it a Texolina rig 🤣🤣
I used to night fish from a water scamp with a black light and I would use stren clear blue line and it looked like a rope and I used 7 inch black power bait worm

Love it brother....
im fishing from a Yak all night Thursday in 75-77 degree stained water here in Missouri.
I've REALLY had consistent bass with 5 way jointed swimbaits at night. I think the noise and movement is perfect
Thank you Genn 🤙
You are super appreciated, sir.
Glad to help
Thanks for the great informative videos Gene.
Thank you for what you do

Awesome! Took plenty of notes and ready, so “put me in coach”! Going to pack and give night fishing a try this weekend! Keep it up brother and Go Dawgs!
Great video thank you FM
I do alot of night fishing in Georgia ! Lizard, bomber A crank bait, heavy line.
Content is great good sir, I’ve been watching you for quite sometime now. Keep going!
Thanks Calvin
Awesome video Gene, love the idea of the bead on the Texas rig. Found your channel just a short time ago but am here to stay. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I have been trying to do some night fishing lately. Amazing timing for this video!!
tried using a chatter bait on canyon lake Arizona night fishing didn't get a bite.... But now I know a few more baits to try!!
Brand new Fisher from ontario canada. You are helping me more than my father did. Thank you.
You gave away all of my secrets lol you really know your stuff as always loved the vid and keep on teaching every one should learn to fish!
Lol. Sorry about that
No prob, lol I’m glad your teaching the community more interesting ways to catch bass just giving you a little bit of a hard time :) thank you for all you do

Does using lights to aluminate the shore help or hurt the bite. Lights or no lights?
Hey! When you night fish either from your boat or your kayak, do you leave your nautical lights on? Or do you turn those off too?
Great video and information. What is that net you have in the background.
Would you Texas rig anything besides a big curly tail worm? Thanks for the info!
Yes craws or creators are very good as well
Yes. Most any soft plastic lure can be Texas rigged.
Zoom brush hog Junebug red kills at night. I don’t know why but they eat it.
Do you use a baitcaster or a spinning reel in night fishing?
Fantastic video **
That’s some solid advise, I’ll have to try the rat swim bait, I keep hearing a lot about them. I always thought they where just one of those one hit wonder baits.
What trailers do you use on your jig setups?
Great video man
Thanks for the content. Very informative. 👍
Great info! Love the videos 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Beads use or dont use in the daytime I've been using it but not catching a lot I also been using lizards.
You're killing me.. jitterbug has been my go to, as long as I've been fishing.. I'm 48.. the hula popper and there floating type buzzbait have a box all to themselves
What would you use for smallmouth? I feel like that worm is too big
Learned something new!
What’s the knife on your PFD?
Fluke Master , i have learned so much from watching Fluke Master , Bill Dance , Scott Martin Randy Blaukat ,Tactical Bassin here on youtube then i would at a actual school fishing classroom. My go to night lure is a spinner bait
What size jitterbug?
So if I'm on a bank, do I shine a flashlight into the water, and they group around that spot in the water, or do I simply have a lantern on the bank, and they are attracted to that?
Call me crazy but the only rod I've caught jitterbug fish on is a 7 foot medium light spinning rod
My girlfriend mentioned earilier today that she wanted to try night fishing, perfect timing!
It's awesome. Viscous strikes!
How do you cast a baitcaster at night without a birds nest? I've never fished at night.
What’s on your hat?
It's called the Anglr Button. I don't think they are in business anymore.
Im looking for my first hog. Hopefully a double digit catch.
do glass beads work as well for the t rig?
Yes but tungsten weights destroy the glass beads.
What lures you prefer! : sinker or floater at night!?
Can you explain how you got affiliated with 13
We love this video hell yeah
Why do you need a dark color lure for night fishing? You’d think you’d want something bright so that the fish could “see” it. Weird…..
Every video I watch talks about a jig, I live in Florida, and I have to be the only man to be skunked on a jig, to the point I don’t throw em. I reckon I can’t fish or something😂
when he said clean your boat deck off at 10:46 then at 10:48 make sense turn on my lantern if im fishing from the shore.
I am night fishing in the fall is that stupid
Well, are you catching fish?
DoWorkChopper no bass
Sorry Dyslexic haven’t gone yet
🔥
👍
He is totally right. I new this for decades and decades. It is actually big secret. And he is telling that. He is not going bla bla bla for 15 minutes for nothing,
My subtitles heard you said bait chicken fish
Hi I’m here
Well let's see how it goes on your channel. I just hope no problems with the guy with a big beard.
Further and farther:
Further is depth of thought or process
Farther is distance.
You think your videos out further than Chad Hoover does
13 fishing equipment allows you to cast farther than chad can with his gear
Lol. Chad is way more cerebral than me.
Question: you said when you fish above the fish.... Have you ever fished below the fish?
Just busting your balls man.
Lol. If their eyes were under their chin I would.
nuts
👍
