To me Red Death also wanted to save everyone in the first place just like the Drown and the Devastator. And the other Batmen just lost their mind but didn't choose to become like this, they were made this way by the harshness of life, it's just a mental illness, that's called sociopathy and it started the knight Bruce's parents died. I mean, regular Batman is already pretty much a sociopath himself.

@@maddogkilla1 it seems like the Alfred program was made with a goal, to keep Bruce Wayne safe. After they launched the program, it found the most logical way of keeping Bruce safe. By killing every villain and thugs Batman fights, Bruce would in turn, would not have to enter any kind of combat that could result in injuries. I believe that is also why the program made Bruce into a machine, it does not feel pain, easy to repair, etc.

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Servings: 4 dozen cookies
Ingredients
2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Baking Chips (contains milk)
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/4 cups unsifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)
Directions
Heat oven to 375ºF.
Stir flour with baking soda and salt; set aside.
In large mixing bowl, beat butter with sugar and brown sugar at medium speed until creamy and lightened in color.
Add eggs and vanilla, one at a time. Mix on low speed until incorporated.
Gradually blend dry mixture into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
Note: The 2 cups of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips can be substituted with any variety of chip flavor (i.e.- Milk Chocolate Chips, 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Chips, etc.)

this whole series really puts into perspective how Batman is teetering merely *INCHES* away from the edge, with only his moral code keeping him in check. if he were to give in to his inner demons, then God help us all...
thankfully he's just a fictional character though, so there's that. also, I think these are the greatest Elseworlds stories that never were. but the brevity of each hits harder than a full blown story would.
To be fair in the dark multiverse nothing can go right, no matter what someone dose they can’t change the fact that the universe will end in a terrible way

I enjoy these and re-read them often. One problem I have though I feel they were slimmed down stories. I would have happily bought a 100 plus page book for each of them. One issue is the Merciless story for instance. Amanda Waller has been shown to have plans on plans on plans, and at least 3 Super teams designed to impair, match or overpower the Justice League and she goes along with the just throw a bomb at it plan....

I think out of all the evil batmans, my favorites are The Drowned, The Merciless, Dawnbreaker, and The Devastator. Mostly because on the other ones, I already know what their counterparts are, but these guys, are my introductions on what their counterparts might be.

for those wondering the main reason the grim knight joined the batman who laughs is cause apparently gordon was able to completely wreck and expose his bruce which made it so his only real choice was to run to another universe. also the grim knight killed the red hood at the chemical plant preventing joker from happening in his universe and he also tortured harvey to get wayne tech to have complete surveillance and control of gotham which led to gordon being able to find out he was fully bruce and properly expose him and have him arrested

So I just looked it up, and Barbatos is an actual name in demonology. It is pronounced bar-bey-tus, and his name is derived from the latin word for "bearded", barbatus.
He supposedly leads people to treasures, and can speak to animals.

So I'm really confused with the Batman who killed the flash. He was a version of Bruce who was good (I'm speaking morally) enough to join the Justice League and probably fought with them for years. I kinda get what he did to Flash and his rouges gallery but why did Bruce go full 100% evil and start trying to take over universes instead of becoming an anti hero or something similar?
It's based off a bad decisions and it likely when Jason Todd died or another kid in the family and he snapped.
Haven't kept up with comics in over a decade, but going from the description here it sounds like that was what Red Death was until his universe started falling apart. That's when the Batman Who Laughed came and offered a way to save it.
@@barbatosmcmurderton4209 yeah the dark multiverse is basically when something bad happens and it gets twisted to the point batman snaps. In this case he was too slow to do anything so he went after the Flash speed once flash declined to help him.

This kind of shows (slightly) that Bruce has plans to destroy EVERY super he knows, but none have one against him because their powers make them too confident, but if Bruce got powers he could destroy everything or even if he was normal and just decided to go on the offense he could deal serious dammage to everything.

It's been said more than a few times, but I like how each one corresponds to a fear, shame, or importance to the Caped Crusader we know:
Batman Who Laughs: Fear that in his efforts to defeat the Joker, he'll become something just as bad if not worse, and shame over his inability to find a way to stop the Joker without ending his life.
Devastator: Fear of Superman going rogue, how important their friendship is, and shame over the fact he can't fully trust the Man of Steel to always and forever be on the up and up.
Merciless: Fear that if he were to kill for any reason, he'd devolve into a mindless butcher who kills anyone and everyone indiscriminately, the importance of how Wonder Woman helps him see the good in others, and shame that since he never kills and thus his foes always come back, his war on crime can never be truly over.
Red Death: Fear of not being fast enough to save the people he loves, shame over those he couldn't save(IE Jason Todd), and deep down fear of getting old and that impeding his ability to effectively fight crime.
Dawnbreaker: Fear of getting superpowers and letting it go to his head, the importance of his adult discipline, like Merciless fear that if he were to kill for any reason at any time he'd become a bloodthirsty monster, and shame over his inability to get past losing his parents.
Murder Machine: Fear of losing Alfred and how important their relationship is, fear of losing his humanity, and shame over his over reliance on technology and that 's not as self-sufficient as he may say.
Drowned: Fear of metahumans, his shame in that fear, and going too far against metahuman adversaries, fear of losing himself to vengeance, how important his relationship to Catwoman is, and shame over how hard a time he had with trusting other people.
Grim Knight: Batman's infamous fear and hatred of guns, like Merciless and Dawnbreaker, fear that if he were to be a killer he'd become a mindless, bloodthirsty killing machine, and fear of losing the trust of the GCPD and how important their working relationship is.

Dawnbreaker is definitely THE most powerful of all of them.
I think its devastator, having the powers of DoomsDay allows him to regenerate and be immune to anything that killed it the 1st time. By theory Devastator can get him. But DawnBreaker definitely OP for sure. Hell Red Death a major problem too. Wishes they made a Martian ManHunter Batman that would be dope
Jalil Johnson the merciless is also pretty powerful as he is basically a god
Bats with a Lantern ring is the most overpowered concept ever. Guy who had enough willpower to return after being erased from reality by Emperor Joker, reform after being hit by the Omega Beams.
This is beautiful a story on mental health depression if we let the hurt control us or use the passion of our experience to help like the real batman.
Watched this a couple of times bc Dark Knights are so cool and te Dark Multiverse one of the best DC-comic events ever.

Interestingly enough the way the guardian implied that the darkness would consume all and that it was a protocol suggests that they had made it as a contingency but one that was a last resort not a main use...
After all any green lantern knows of the meaning behind Darkest night.... but what about brightest day? Well since the black light entity is nothing but the absence of life then to kill the white light entity you must use the black light.... but not be consumed by the black lantern.... making this technically the only viable way a living person could use black light

Well there wasn't exactly a red one around. Pretty sure that the red lantern corps was created years after the Waynes' death. And in that moment, he felt intense willpower to bring justice, only then he took it over with that sheer willpower.

Can I ask how did dawnbreaker or the drowned have Batman in the mix? Dawnbreaker killed the guy that killed his parents, right? I really like this story, don't get me wrong. I'm just wondering what his motivation was after killing the guy. Can someone please clear this up for me? Thanks

one thing I love about this "dark knights" is that the title of the comics are metal song from "ride the lightning from metallica" for the red death or "the rime of the ancient mariner from iron maiden" for the the drowned
This basically just proves 3 things
1. Batman should never have permanent powers cause then he becomes unstoppable
2. Batman should never kill cause then he just doesn’t stop
3. Batman should never use guns cause the Batman that did use guns was literally THE MOST USELESS Batman I have ever fucking seen
