I have to tell you a story. As kids, we got out of school at 3pm, ran up a slow incline to our street to be in line at Mrs Ortiz side door. She would hand out 2 buttered warm rolled up tortillas in tin foil to each child every day of school; usually 13 or more of us. Color did not matter. She was in her 60's I think. A precious memory. I am now 68.

I have never I mean never posted a comment on websites but I have to give credit where credit is due. I have been married 19 years and cook everything and anything even different cultural cuisines.BUT… my kryptonite were always flour tortillas. They were apple shaped heart, square, you name it I stretched it out in that shape. Anything but circular. In addition to the shape the taste was kind of blah. I have watched and tried dozens of recipes. This one however, is hands down on point in taste, texture, shape, everything! I take my hat off to you sweet ladies you simply nailed the instruction.

I found this video randomly last night just before going to bed. Watched the entire thing, including the silly bloops at the end :), then I laid awake for a long time thinking about your technique. I haven't seen anyone make tortillas in front of me for about 35 years, since my mom died. Everything you did was like watching her hands move in the kitchen, careful but knowing. I never learned to make tortillas from scratch because she had always been there to do it. I just sat nearby with soft butter and waited to eat them as they were cooked! Your video really warmed my heart, and I thank you for that. It was even greater to see that you are Denver girls, like me! I felt my mother's spirit and love watching this, and while I've never, not once, been able to master a decent tortilla, I am going to try them again, taking my time the way you did, and hopefully getting them right (or close) at last.

I can relate to that. I remember being in my early teens and watching my mom make tortillas and as soon as she made one I'd grab it and slather butter on it and maybe a shake of salt, eat it and the next one I'd change it up and smear ketchup or mustard on it until she got mad because she was making them and they'd disappear as soon as she made them so the basket was empty. All I can do now is buy them in the store but they're nowhere the same AND they're becoming more expensive.

My dear wonderful & loving Mexican friend that raised her family in San Benito, Texas spoke very few words in English & I knew very few words of Spanish. As I watch your videos they bring tears of joy remembering some of the most wonderful memories of my life & of South Texas & my dear, dear wonderful friend “Catarina”. RIP. I’ve met very few people as loving & kind as my Mexican friend Catarina. She was much more than a loving wonderful friend, she was more like a mother, a grandmother, & best friend! I will never forget her, nor her Mexican culture she introduced me too & all of her wonderful delicious Mexican food! I will always remember & love her forever! Thank you Steph & Cloud for sharing your wonderful Mexican culture!❤️❤️❤️ You mentioned “Georgie” & 90 day finance .....Arent you talking about “Darcy & Stacy” program that’s a spin-off of 90 days Finace?
