This rare 'custom color' late sixties Olympic White Telecaster weighs 8.20 lbs. Solid alder body, one-piece fretted maple neck with a wonderful medium to thick profile and a nut width of 1 5/8 inches. Fender individual "F" tuners with octagonal metal buttons. The neck is stamped "3 21 015 B". Two hot pickups with outputs of 6.64k and 5.95k. Three-layer plastic pickguard with eight screws. Fender combined bridge/tailpiece with original chrome cover. An exceptionally fine 'custom color' example. Housed in it's original Fender black hardshell case.
Just got to say a big thanks to Phil X and the F A team for ... so many things, but especially the musical education. If it weren't for Phil, I'd have never heard of Rare Earth, and I definitely wouldn't have ordered Rare Earth Live from the web, and my two little girls wouldn't be able to sing and dance to "I just want to celebrate another day of living..." God bless you all... Mobbsy, Australia
i have never seen someone play bowie in a guitar demo. thank you.
Phil X is the shit. This man knows how to have fun. He looks like he's having fun, whereas other reviewers obiviously look like they're trying to sell something. Phil is just jammin!
Get stoned and watch Fretted Americana videos. Classic.
Ha, I was thinking, "Damn, he's really laying it to that tele" Glad you addressed that issue Phil!
I liked the jimi hendrix playing. Just the right amount of crazy to play something like that!
Hendrix also recorded Hey Joe on the same tele that he recorded Fire
Got this guitar from my dad, had no idea it used to be white.
I LOVE THE FENDER TELECASTER!!!
Love the tele
Great tone for "Golden Years" and "Magic Man".
ahh my dream guitar
This dude knows all the songs
i like his way of showing guitars - really informative!!!
"Fire" by Hendrix was recorded between 1966-1967. It was one of his first "hits."
thank for u Guitar demo man..u are a funny person...cheers
awsome sound!!!!
no phil he actually wrote the song with bowie as bowie was writing it. pretty cool. cool demo by the way!
"Freak Out" 70's disco tune!
yellow telecaster, my dream guitar
made me want to go out and buy a tele : ) and i already own one .
this guy is great : )
Definitely my favourite video of yours! Fookin' Amazing!!
This guy is hilarious im sure he could convince to buy anything with a pitch like that

Grandma Mary
Great demo :D! Very versatile with the styles :)
I have that exact guitar (same colour and all). :D
It's a great guitar.
@frettedamericana Funny thing though, Nile Rodgers played a Tele for many years, but switched to Stratocaster on this album :)
Is this the coolest guitar on earth or what???
@StephenFiorentini Phil is too busy playing guitar to respond - occasionally you'll see him reply (you'll know because the message comes from his TH-cam name which is PhilX1111). Otherwise the responses come from either Caroline or Dustin, and if we don't respond, it's because we get between 100 - 200 messages a day !!
TOTAL STONER. LIKE A BOSS.
unpredictable. But AWESOME
haha "I'm a very careful beatin the shit outta that guitar guy" lol
Pretty sure "Fire" was released on Are You Experienced in 1966.
cool guitar ! cool guitarist! +1
The yellowing is probably because it had a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Nitrocellulose aging is also the cause of the "iced tea" color of the original-run* LP-standard's originally red background finish.
*original-run refers to the LP Standards made from their introduction in 1958 to 1960 when it became temporarily replaced by the SG due to bad initial sales.
Nice play bro love you!
rock man,rock!!!!!!
Esse cara toca muito :D
my god you remined me of val kilmer lol.
cool bro!! nice chops!!
Jimi borrowed Noel Reddings tellie to play Hey Joe and Purple Haze too. :D
Unpredictable. But f*ing awesome!
Dude, this is my guitar!
Except mine has a dark brown neck. lol
dude u rock
he sure did a good job at hiding the feedback. that was prtty bad feedack
i'm crying
This guy is awesome. Just show us what the guitar fuckin' sounds like, thats all you need to do. and he did. right on. and have fun cuz the guitar is fun. I hate these ancient dudes that say all this technical shit that translates to nothing really.
Magic Man by Heart. Great song! I think it was off Dreamboat Annie LP....like.....1975 I think?
hey i was wondering do the original vintage Telecasters have a lacquer coat on the neck like the newer "vintage" Telecaster's have? because it does't look like it does.
thanks :)
my god dude you remined me of val kilmer lol!
nice chops bro.
peace!!
You heard that? He beats the shit out of the guitar but carefully though...well you know what they say "Dont be shy with you're guitar"
That guitar was in the Anime called BECK Mongolian Chop Squad.
@myoozzick magic man by heart. pay attention dude he says it right after he plays it.
@2dDemonzz Perfect with Metal Muff pedal
wait aaaarggg i can't believe i can't remeber the name of that song but i've heard it before. its at like 3:18
love this channel!! say I think my telecaster is hard to play cause all of the sustain, i play mostly chords kind of , do you think a chambered or hollow body would be more forgiving ? I tried a duesenberg starplayer and it was kinda better to play
If you cant beat the shit out of a 500+ dollar guitar its not a fender tele lol I got one of these reissues and WOW sounds exactly like this vintage one!
@tangypasta it's called a ''harmonic'' look it up if you want.. it's an awsome trick ;)
Fire actually got released in '67 not '70, still a nice guit tho.
i think either is great for funky stuff but you have to be really listen to a guitar before you buy it. try out a bunch... back to back if you can so you can compare. also... JF from the chili's is a huge hendrix fan which is probably one of the reasons he went with a strat.
@frettedamericana what do you think? should i buy a gibson les paul or a fender telecoaster?
you rocks
fantastic
really? i always heard he was just in the room when it was written.
@anesthetized8 to bad the strat neck will not fit without some mods
Phil.....how did you get this job dude!!!!!!!!!
I have got to know the settings on that vox amp. Sounds amazing! I know it's over a year old, but if you by any chance remember the settings, tell me. Ha!
@frettedamericana it's actually "Le Freak"
Could anyone please tell me the titles of the songs ?
Phil. Is it you who responds to comments?
Dude you rock :D
i wanna play like you.... :(
"I'm more of a high guy"
Hahaha, we can tell.
@newfieninja19 He's playing Fame by David Bowie
love it
I'm thinking about gitting this type of guitar for a starter guitar. Is this a good starting guitar?
Barracuda 3.08 followed by 3.18 Magic Man both by Heart...
I'll second that previous comment - WHAT THE HELL IS THAT FUNKY SONG AT 2:15 ?!?!
whats the song he's playing at 2:07???
i am not sleepy now...
it sounds like you plugged a copressor to it
Anybody know what Tonemaster he´s using ??
There are more than 300 ones of his vids.

Hey nice guitar can you name the songs you played?
what is the song at 2:15 ?
Whats that funky song at 2:15 ? :)
@2dDemonzz its an old old guitar and it feedbacks bad. so, prolly relly badly. buy a newer tele tho and u can do anything you want on it

whats the song at 3:57 ?
this guy is so high... !!! LOL
what's the intro's song?
You're awesome XDD
Has this been an original olympic white that has faded out into creamy yellow, or is this a factory vintage one? (I prefer the first one, to me those vintage editions are all somehow "faked")
lettin a couple shits through, i like it, i like it.
yes. 100%spartan, baby
Phil, man I wanna see you take on something by Frusciante. Play some chillis!
@francoraggio09 please upload a video of you playing with half of the variety and skill that phil x does, with the kind of good attitude that he has doing these videos, then you will have the right to call him a douche.
Olympic White To Banana Cream
Phil X plays David Bowie!
